Celestial Peak Chapter 171

Wang Ling and Bai Xue traveled from the Eastern Seas to the Tranquil Empire. The entire journey took a month even with Bai Xue's speed.
On the way, Wang Ling regained his strength a week after he collapsed. He changed position with Bai Xue and let her assimilate the blood of the Serpentine Turquoise.
Only a day took for Bai Xue to assimilate the bloodline of the Serpentine Turquoise. After she assimilated it, she had a short recollection of the past.
It was the time when she hatched from an egg, it was weird, and it was a memory she did not want to remember. Her motivation to survive the forest she awoke on was one of the driving forces that kept her going for all those years.
She held no happiness when she was still weak and frail. She had to use her wits to get around, she needed to use it else she would die at the hands of the beast that littered the place.
In a realm where even what seemed to be an ordinary worm might have the ability to cultivate was terrifying for her.
[So much had changed since I lost my place cultivation.] she was currently inside Wang Ling's clothes and as she stared at him, she smiled and got out of his robes.
"Did you finish assimilating with it?" Wang Ling asked.
Bai Xue stretched and nodded her head, she jumped and enlarged her body. She did not transform into a dragon or a phoenix, just her regular but larger form.
Bai Xue was at her base form and she accelerated at a rate that Wang Ling didn't know she could reach. Bai Xue's speed had increased from assimilating the Serpentine Turquoise that was known for its speed.
While they flew in the air, Bai Xue's mind was in the clouds. She was thinking of different things that she would rarely think of.
[How long is my stay in this realm will last? Will I be able to stay with Wang Ling for a long time? Or at some point will I have to be alone in the darkness, fearing for my life again?]
Right now, she was probably over hundreds of years old, but when she descended from Heaven Realm, she was merely a couple of hundred years old.

In the Heaven Realm, Bai Xue was considered as one of the weakest being mostly because her cultivation speed was slow. In the Heaven Realm, for a being to reach Celestial Phase only after 50 years meant that she or he was mediocre.
She was a hundred years old when she reached Celestial Phase. Her cultivation speed was slow because of her harsh circumstances.
She lived a life that had a direction that will lead to death. Her living for a hundred years old was something she was not expecting. For someone as weak as she managing to crawl her way to the top was something she achieved through efforts alone.
But in those times, she had deceived a lot of people and being and spent her time shunned by almost everyone else. But for someone who only had the mind to live, it was not that harsh.
But after being trapped for hundreds of thousands of years inside a ball of blood. Only her hate for that Dragon kept her going.
Her original goal as soon as she heads out was to journey the lands and steal anything she could get her hands on. Train and survive then ascend to Heaven Realm and take her revenge.
But who would have thought she would be a part of Wang Ling's journey?
Thinking this through, Bai Xue smirked and a thought appeared in her head. She shook her head at the thought of the strange idea…
[That will never happen.] She then accelerated to the Tranquil Empire. Her expression was less desirable as a saddened expression appeared.
=====
The human and fox pair found their way into the Tranquil Empire. As they entered the city, Wang Ling did not face much attention, his face was unknown to them after all.
They were in the capital city of the empire and in the middle of this city was the palace. He didn't wait for anything and head deep into the city.
Wang Ling reached the gates that led to the palace and as he was about to enter, he was stopped by a guard.
"None shall enter the palace."
Wang Ling sighed and took out an emblem. He showed it to the guard and explained it.

"My name is Wang Ling, my brother Wang Ling is inside, I was told to go here."
The guard was startled to know his name.
"So it was the First Young Master of the Wang Family. I ought to let you in, but as the times in the palace is precarious, I would have to ask you to please wait as I go and call upon your younger brother."
Wang Ling waved his hand as if to tell him do what he must.
As the guard left, Wang Ling noticed that there were many who were eyeing him, they were murmuring to themselves but he could hear them clearly.
"Is that really the [Bloody Maelstrom]? He looks better than imagined,"
"He should be, the guard confirmed his identity."
Wang Ling turned to the crowd and they avoided his gaze. Wang Ling found them weird, but took note of their words.
The guard didn't take long and came back with Wang Hong behind. Wang Hong turned to Wang Ling and then to the crowd. He grabbed Wang Ling and brought him inside the palace.
Wang Ling could still feel there were people eyeing him. He looked around, there were maids confirming something as they stared at him.
Wang Ling turned to Wang Hong, "What is going on? Is there something wrong with my face? How come everyone is reacting like so to my presence? What is it with the Bloody Maelstrom thing?"
Wang Hong turned to him as he sighed, "Older brother, do you not even know what you just did?"
Wang Ling shook his head, "I just went out to hunt for some beasts."
Wang Hong could not believe him and then for a second time sighed as he said, "You are amazing older brother, follow me, I'll tell you the whole thing along the way."
And so, Wang Hong told the story of the one who created an ocean of blood.
A divine golden light that shot up from above. A beautiful young man with golden halos that was as resplendent as the sun carried a ball of flames that destroyed the vile beasts that appeared from the depths of the ocean.
Forming a bloody ocean from the blood of his enemies and escaping on the back of a divine beast that could not be seen by the eyes of mortals. The divine being that was shrouded by the golden light of heavens, he was Wang Family's [Bloody Maelstrom].
Wang Ling should have been able to escape without anyone noticing him moving around the Eastern Seas, but because of the storm that was previously brewing overhead. The sun was blotted out which caused the skies to darken.
With both halos out and his bloodline ignited, the golden light that shrouded Wang Ling's light was extremely noticeable. The two distinct haloes that produced golden light was extremely easy to catch.
Wang Ling's show of strength was witnessed by a lucky fisherman who was out to take care of his boat. He did not clearly see Wang Ling's face but the golden halos was enough to assume that it was a divine being.
He told the tale of the divine being that he saw. This tale proliferated and some didn't believe it, but the part how this thing was connected to Wang Ling happened because one faithful lass by the name of Wang Yue was eating in some restaurant of the capital city of Tranquil Kingdom.
She heard the tale of a man bearing golden halos and connected it to her older brother. She told the tales of Wang Ling and announced his moniker as the Prince of Divine Light.
Many would have ignored her words, but on that faithful day, she was accompanied by Yan Renhuo to eat. With Yan Renhuo speaking up for Wang Yue and confirming that Wang Ling indeed has halos on his back, Wang Ling's name was connected to the halo bearing figure of the Eastern Seas.
As for how the moniker came to be, it was formed because of the bloody ocean in the midst of a storm hence the Bloody Maelstrom.
