Celestial Peak Chapter 101

Wang Ling circulated the two opposing qi inside his body the way the Extreme Yin Yang Art dictated it to be. The hellish qi and angelic qi that was wrapped with his supreme spirit qi circulated at the same time in his meridians.
There was no uncomfortable feeling when he started the process. But as Wang Ling began cultivating it more and more, it began to hurt.
Wang Ling needed to let the opposing qi go out of the constraints of the supreme spirit qi if he wanted to cultivate this art. But every time he did so, a sharp pain would assault his meridians and the feeling of almost bursting always appears.
This continued as time passed by, becoming increasingly painful as he tried to fuse the two qi into a single entity. The mixing process he did back in the Ancient Creed Mountain was simpler as he only tried to find an equilibrium between the two powers.
But this time, it was different. He wanted to fuse the two qi and form a new kind of power. If he could successfully achieve this. He will be able to use the two individual strengths of the two qi simultaneously while also having the ability to use it as one.
With the hellish qi having the essence of both destruction and slaughter and the angelic qi with its regeneration and creation. Wang Ling did not know what will be born out of the two qi.
But as he continued with the cultivation process. He became alert to the consequences. He feared that his meridians exploding if he continues. Even so, Wang Ling continued, as he both circulated his angelic qi to regenerate any damaged parts of his meridians while circulating the Extreme Yin Yang Art.
Hours passed and Wang Ling opened his eyes. It was already morning and the sun had already risen. Wang Ling looked to the side and saw Bai Xue basking in the rays of the sun as she drank a jug of wine so early in the morning.
Walking up to her, he asked for a jug of wine and Bai Xue gave him one. He drank and savored it for a while before starting a conversation topic.
"What do you think is the view at the top? Is it beautiful as you experience peace for having no one capable of challenging you or horrified at the sight of the blood that you have spilled along the way to reach the apex of strength?"
Bai Xue gave her a look but said nothing in response for a good hour. She contemplated his question and began wondering. In the end, she sighed as she answered.
"The path to the apex is fraught with dangers and to reach that destination. You must always kill, but do you think the weak-willed is going to reach that place? The apex is not the end. If you reach the apex, that is only the start of a new path. You will not have any time to think of your consequences and only look up and try to reach new heights just like you have been doing your whole life."
Wang Ling smiled as he gently caressed Bai Xue's head. The two of them left the inn and stretched their bodies as they moved onwards. They reached the city gates and was going to enter the Frost Domain which was thousands of kilometers away, but as they were doing so, a frantic and injured man was flying towards them screaming: "An [Abyssal World Gate] opened in the [Frosted Border Range]! Frosted Border Range had fallen!"

Wang Ling's attention was instantly caught as he turned over to watch a show. He had already read a lot of articles in books that detailed the horrors of the abyss. But he had never seen one in real life before.
Before the incident with the devil cultivators in the Azure Skies Kingdom. Wang Ling was planning on exploring the nearby Abyss Mini World near the Kingdom. His curiosity had been sparked once more as the existence of the Abyss was mentioned.
But it wasn't just him who was pleasantly surprised. Bai Xue was also surprised as she looked at the whole scene in front of her play out.
[The Abyss is also connected in this realm? Holy, that place is expanding.]
The injured man garnered much attention from the people passing by. They look at him with pity as they listened to his reports of a gate to the Abyss opening.
Soon, officials appeared and a [True Saint] flew down from above. The True Saint was a middle-aged man who also happened to be the City Lord of the Deserto Border Town.
This Border Town was a neutral land where no powers are located. But the City Lord was already so strong that those in the nearby continents didn't hold a candle to him.
Wang Ling looked as numerous Saints appeared. The central regions was indeed a place where people with great strength lurk. The City Lord of the Deserto Border Town approached the injured man and fed him a simple pill to heal some of his injuries.
The injured man calmed down as the pill started to take effect. The City Lord looked at the man and with a grim expression, he asked.
"Is there an Abyss Gate in the Frosted Border Range?"
The injured man nodded his head weakly as he spoke, "I witnessed it happen three weeks ago, and because it was so far away, it took me a while of nonstop running. Before I left the outbreak had already started and the [Frost Dragon] that dwells in the Frosted Border Range tried to protect its territory. But even the True Saint Frost Dragon was forced to flee after having its Saint Soul destroyed."
The City Lord's expression became increasingly heavy and so was the face of those present. The problem this time was trivial. The City Lord asked one last thing:
"What rank is the [Abyss Demon] this time? What is the rank of the Abyss Demon that beat the Frost Dragon?"
Everyone became silent as the injured man tried to muster some strength to speak. It took a while but he then muttered, "It's Demon General, and it's at the very peak of Demon General rank. I fear that it's already nearing Demon King!"
After delivering the message that was needed to be delivered to his fellowmen of the Celestial Spirit Realm. The injured man finally lost consciousness from over-fatigue. Thankfully, he didn't die.
The City Lord passed the injured man to one of his men and made him take the injured man to a place where he can be treated. The City Lord then floated up in the air and turned to the people behind him.
"An Abyss Word Gate has opened and we of the Deserto Border Town is in danger and so is the rest of the Celestial Spirit Realm if we do nothing. So, I will move out and try to suppress the outbreak of the Abyss. I will push the [Demons] back and kill those that can be killed. I know you fear for your lives, but as this message had already reached us, it is probable that people of other towns have also heard of it.

"We may not be able to close the Gate but if we hold out, someone will come to close it for us. Now, those who are saints, prepare yourselves and we will leave for the Frosted Border Range at noon to defend the realm from the invaders!"
The people around the City Lord cheered as their morals were raised. Even though they were not in the same forces, they were all on the same side. The people of the Celestial Spirit Realm was getting ready to defend themselves from an outbreak.
However, amidst them was someone who did not care about the whole event or rather was forced to not care for the whole ordeal. Wang Ling was already gone from the crowd as he went to follow the person who took the injured man away.
Not that Wang Ling wasn't interested in the whole protecting the realm thing. It was just that Bai Xue had other plans. Wanting to get the blood of a dragon that was supposedly injured and had its Saint Soul destroyed, Bai Xue urged Wang Ling to gather information.
But even if the case of the Frost Dragon was not presented. Wang Ling would not even dare to go to the Frosted Border Range. He values his life, screw patriotism.
Wang Ling went to find the injured man and located him in a local clinic. Wang Ling entered the clinic and as the injured man was unconscious, he had to wait for a while.
=====
Doing nothing, Wang Ling decided to just sit around and try to comprehend the Extreme Yin Yang Art. The night passed and Wang Ling had yet to leave and as three days since the rallying of the Saints.
The injured man finally woke up and Wang Ling was the first to meet him. It was as if he was a close friend.
"Who are you?" The injured man asked Wang Ling who was sitting on a chair beside him.
Wang Ling showed an amiable smile as he answered, "I am from the City Lord Manor, do not worry about anything. I am only here to ask you a single question on behalf of the City Lord."
The injured man nodded his head as he did not doubt the honest look on Wang Ling's face.
"The Frost Dragon, where did it go? Just the general direction would do."
"It headed west, I am not sure if it is correct but it would most likely go to the [Spring of Beasts Forest] to recuperate. It has been over a month so it should have already stabilized its strength in the middle upper-lower levels of the nascent soul stage or the upper-middle though."
"Thank you for the information. Take this pill as a simple compensation from the City Lord's Manor." Wang Ling passed a single ordinary-looking pill to the injured man before leaving.
The injured man looked at the pill and scoffed at the so-called gift before keeping it in his storage ring. He didn't need any more pills as his condition was already getting better from the previous treatment. He would rather store the pill for future use.
Being a rogue cultivator. It was hard to come by free pills that have medicinal effects. So it would have been considered wise of him when he stored it in his storage ring.
But what he didn't know was that the pill was far from ordinary. Wang Ling had injected his supreme spirit qi and angelic qi to the pill that would help the injured man in his injuries. But because of one stupid mistake, that grace became useless as Wang Ling's injected qi dissipated.
=====
West of the Deserto Border Town was a place called Spring of Beasts Forest. It was a haven for most spirit beasts and rogue cultivators alike. Brimming with life, it was a suitable place for cultivation and was filled with vegetation.
Spirit beasts that live here were either nascent soul stage beasts or saint spirit beasts. It was a place that was ruled by the strong. A true jungle where the weak get eaten. But it wasn't only danger found in this place as benefits that could change anyone's life can also be found in this place.
It had been two weeks of continuous flying, but Wang Ling and Bai Xue had finally caught sight of the Spring of Beasts Forest. They smiled as soon as they saw it because no further confirmation was needed.
The Frost Dragon was here, as for how they knew, it was because a shard of ice was standing upright in front of the Spring of Beasts Forest. Wang Ling smiled as he too felt the [Dragonic Qi] that lingered in the Ice Shard.
Taking a deep breath, Wang Ling asked Bai Xue, "This better take some of the interests that you're keeping tabs on."
Bai Xue smiled deviously as she answered, "Shishi, you owe me a lot of things from saving your sorry ass to giving you the Extreme Yin Yang Art. But in consideration to the Guardian Beast Manifestation Forms you gave me that I am really taking a liking to, I'll clean off your debt."
"Then if the risk too high and we can't kill the Frost Dragon?"
Bai Xue showed an even more devious smile as she answered, "Everything we loot for the next month will be shared to the two of us 70 to 30!"
Wang Ling decided to do everything not to fuck this up and started hoping the Frost Dragon was still weak.
[My cultivation will grind to a halt if we fail this thing.]
