Celestial Peak Chapter 91

"You awake now?" Wang Ling asked the white fox on his lap.
Bai Xue yawned and stretched out her body. Blinking her eyes a couple of eyes. She jumped on Wang Ling's shoulders and took out a storage ring.
The storage ring fell on top of Wang Ling's hands. No words were needed to be said. Wang Ling started going through its contents and smiled.
"Is this my share?" Wang Ling asked as he took out 13 plaques of different types. Some spirit plants were rich in spirit qi.
Wang Ling took out some of the spirit plants that didn't have much use. He began eating and started assimilating the spirit qi inside.
After doing so, he took out every plaque that was inside the storage ring. He took out his plaque and started checking out its uses. But before he can delve deeper into it. Bai Xue began explaining with her lazy tone.
"That thing is useless, it only serves as a way to exit this place and only transform once a certain number of thunderous spirit is acquired. No other uses are available."
"How about this place then? Any notable thing?"
"Nothing, but that only goes for the 500-kilometer radius. I didn't try looking for more things but many examinees are heading north. I don't know what's happening but some spirit plant is going to bloom in the north.
"On the other hand, there was some kind of beast found in the east. I don't know if these rumors are through though. But the goal of this place seems to be head to the center of the examination ground, which is north. So, where should we go?"
"North." Wang Ling didn't need to think about it.
Standing up, he stepped on 12 of the plaques on the ground. His wood plaque instantaneously transformed into a [Black Gold Plaque].
He checked the record kept in the plaque and found 1,436 thunderous spirits in his plaques. This made Wang Ling shake his head.
The number of students that had their plaques destroyed should already number at over a thousand by now. Although he was not fully awake, he was still aware of the day and night cycle.
It was now the fourth day. The perfect day to harvest. But he was already done. He had turned his plaque into a black gold plaque. He should be done now.
However, Wang Ling also meant something different when he said harvest. It could also mean resources.
Bai Xue who was on his shoulders saw that he left a plaque. This made Bai Xue curious as to why he did so.
"Why did you leave one? Although yours is already black gold. Others wouldn't stop acquiring thunderous spirits."
Bai Xue had a point. Even though Zou Jianhong said that there was a price and it was a special tip. That doesn't mean that no one else knew about it.

After all, these examinations had long been present since the inception of the academy. There should have been numerous rumors about the prices. It might even be public knowledge by now.
That so-called tip was nothing but useless crap in the ears of those people from the central region.
However, Wang Ling was not acting complacent about his position. Although he knew that Bai Xue was correct. He had some idea of his own. Picking up the plaque from the ground, he gave it Bai Xue and said.
"Take it, you might be able to enroll here if you do. If you manage to enroll here, the two of use will receive monthly shares and we will be able to join competitions. Therefore getting more prices.
"If at some point we become the two strongest here… we will be able to fully flush out the resources. Get it all and we will soon return to our peak."
The system of the Thundergod Academy was simple. If you have a plaque, you will earn the right to enroll. Just let your plaque reach a certain point, and you will be able to enroll.
Even the spirit beasts in every examination area had the right to enroll. If they wish to do so. They would only need to kill some examinees and take their plaque away.
The Thundergod Academy wasn't unaware of this matter. However, they just let it be. They wanted the best of the best. Who cares how they got the plaque. Other than some special cases, everything in the examination area was free for all.
Bai Xue began to think about it and smiled after a while of consideration. She took the plaque from Wang Ling's hands.
Etching her spirit sense in the plaque. The plaque was restarted to a wooden plaque that only had a single thunderous spirit.
As she was doing so. Bai Xue realized something and her ears perked up. She looks suspiciously at Wang Ling and asked.
"If this was your intention then why did you only say it to me after you took my loot? If you wanted me to enroll then you should've given me the plaques I have collected."
Wang Ling smiled as he answered, "Well, you did hitch a ride here with me. Just think of it as you paying me."
"Screw you!"
====
Keep your mind steady, hands stable, your eyes sharp, and heart unwavering. This was the key to using the bow. At least that was the case to Wang Ling.
Breathing out, Wang Ling steadied himself. He pulled the bowstring of the bow that was on his hand and gathered. He waited for his unknowing target to reach a certain area before letting going of the string.
Whoosh!
His spirit qi arrow rendered the air and a loud hissing sound was heard. The arrow traveled fast and before the target could turn around.

A hole had already appeared on the target's chest. The target below lost his life and before long, died.
With a bow in hand. Wang Ling was sniping examinees who were below ground. He was currently on the back of Bai Xue who was in the form of a Phoenix.
He would pull his bowstrings and would mix his supreme spirit qi and hellish qi to fully destroy his targets. He would kill them and Bai Xue would swoop down to take the corpse.
Wang Ling would then take the corpse's valuable and they would burn it before dropping the corpse down. Bai Xue's thunderous spirit numbers at 235. Her plaque was only an iron.
They killed a total of 7 people from all races. However, no matter who they killed. They all provided small numbers of thunderous spirits. Only scrubs remained in the area.
Wang Ling and Bai Xue decided to leave. They headed north, where the central gathering of all passing students.
With a flap of her wings, Bai Xue rushed towards the north. But they made sure to kill some people on the way to the central area. Whether they be normal examinees or rich looking young masters. The duo didn't let any kind of resources slip past their hands.
The two of them were making a trail of blood and sometimes even flames on their way to the central area.
As the two of them traveled. The environment changed from a mountainous forested area to a desolate plain. With only a few mountains in the distance.
They were going to continue on their way when they suddenly saw hundreds of examinees gathering in one mountain range. They could also feel the strange fluctuation of qi in the air.
This caught the attention of the duo.
"Is this the place where the spirit plant is going to bloom?" Wang Ling asked and Bai Xue landed on the ground so she can transform back into her fox form.
Wang Ling got out of her back and head on foot. Although they could continue with Bai Xue's form. They chose not to do so as it was simply too risky.
Looking around, Wang Ling found it odd that a great number of examinees would choose to stay at the foot of the mountain. When they were airborne.
He and Bai Xue saw the gathering point of the spirit qi was on the peak. How come they were on the foot when the target was above?
With curiosity getting the better of him, Wang Ling approached an examinee to ask about the situation.
He walked up to a beautiful lady who had pointy ears and was wearing an eye-catching green robe.
-"Sister Elf, a blessing to Mother Tree!"- Wang Ling greeted in a way of the elves. The person in front of him was not a human but an elf, and these elves had their own cultures.
(Wang Ling is speaking the italicization means he is talking in different tongues. This will be applied in different settings.)
Wang Ling was rather proficient in dealing with elves. He made some questionable dealings with the elves back in the days so he was rather proficient in not only their culture but also language.
Although elves were gentle by nature. They were also very careful and would seldom associate with other people. That was the reason why he chose to speak in elvish tongues.
He wanted to let them know that he was associated with the elves. This act of Wang Ling elicited a great reaction from the elf.
- "Oh, it is rare to see a human knowing the language of the elves. Seeing that you are so young, are you perchance a scholar?"– The elven lady's voice was soothing and nice. Coupled with her natural beauty, she was an eye-catcher.
If this was the old era, most males would jump and try to woo such a fine woman. But it would seem that there were quite a few people who had a brain this era.
After all, the elf in front of Wang Ling was quite strong. She was a peak level-1 nascent soul stage cultivator. She was quite literally one of the strongest people in the foot of the mountain.
Wang Ling nodded his head in response to her question, as she smiled when he spoke - "I am but a mere student that dabbled in the elven culture learning the language as I go. Oh, might I know what is going on here why are the examinees not going up the mountain… um, may I know how I should address you? My name is Wang Ling and this little one over here is Bai Xue." -
- "Oh, my name is Naesala. Regarding the issue here, it is quite simple. The people here do not want to enter the mountain as many of the examinees that are counted as the strongest up there in the peak. No one wants to go up there and risk their lives." -
- "Is there a chance to know what kind of spirit plant is going to appear?"–
- "From what I heard, it is a Regal Jade Lotus. A grade-3 spirit plant. It should be appearing in three hours and most of the people here are just waiting for the fight that will erupt later." -
Wang Ling responded with an 'oh' and said his thanks to Naesala. He talked with her about the matter before leaving with smiles on their faces. Wang Ling was calmly looking but his mind had thousands of words.
"So, are we going to take it?" Bai Xue asked.
"Yes! After all, it is time for me to level up."

Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!

Life in Zora's Domain
An AU about Mipha's and Link's life together post Calamity. I tried to have some fun with this story, taking it in different directions, developing Mipha's and Link's family, making up some adventures, and creating some connections to other Zelda stories. But the main theme is Mipha's and Link's love for each other and building a happy life together. I'm sure I don't always succeed, but I try to keep the story light hearted and generally opt for happy outcomes. The first 2 chapters now incorporate the prequel stories 'His Future is in the Past' and 'Beginning Life in Zora's Domain', so this AU is self-contained in one story. If you've already read the prequels just jump to Chapter 1 - Studying. Cover art where available is by Nurple(twitter dot com/nurpleynurple) and used by permission. Spoiler Warning: This story has spoilers! On the other hand, if you haven't played the game this story won't make sense. This writing is a work of fan fiction using characters and events from the world of The Legend of Zelda TM: Breath of the Wild, which is owned and copyrighted by Nintendo. I do not claim any ownership of the world or its characters. It is a work of my imagination and is for entertainment only. It is not part of the official Nintendo storyline.
