Celestial Peak Chapter 89

"First Young Master, you have arrived."
Wang Ling was greeted by Qigang soon after arriving. The winners of every set were present in the Martial Hall of Piercing Heaven Academy's inner circle.
Wang Ling raised his hands to halt his bow.
Observing the surrounding, Wang Ling could feel the fluctuation of space in the middle of the Martial Hall. With his Devil's Pupils, he managed to see through the formation that was set up by the seniors of the seven great academies.
There were six mini formations spread out around the area. Each of these formations was so small that it shouldn't be able to properly register a destination.
Wang Ling deduced that these formations should be connected to a predestined formation. Because if not, then these formations will not work and will only cause the deaths of the other students.
Walking up to the rest of the students, he was greeted with weird gazes. It would seem that the talk concerning the issue about his Minor Tribulation should have spread to most people already.
But Fang Guan and the rest acted like before. Fang Guan, Lu Lin, and Zi Liang have all seen just how weird and amazing Wang Ling was. It surprised them to know that Wang Ling was some sort of divine being, but they were slightly more prepared compared to other people.
After witnessing Wang Ling's prowess when they were in White Dragon Valley. The three of them weren't that surprised to hear that he was some kind of divine being.
Wang Ling spoke to them for a while before coming to talk to Qigang to one side of Martial Hall. Wang Ling made sure to inhibit his voice when he spoke.
"Qigang, you have done a great job in assisting me all this time but now, I have to leave for the examination. But I shall head to the main house as soon as I can, tell Yue that I'll be coming back soon."
Qigang nodded his head as he committed everything to mind. Then, he saw Wang Ling take our three books that were written in an ordinary paper. Wang Ling handed it out to him with a smile. Before he could inquire what these books were, Wang Ling began his explanation.
"Those are martial techniques I found in my journey by chance. Two of them came from White Dragon Valley and the other from the Mini World. The [Seeking Arrow] is for Yue, the [Spear of War] is for Wang Hong, and the [Shadow's Envoy] is my gift to you. Train well while I am away."
Qigang bowed to say his thanks as Wang Ling left. It was a big deal for Qigang to receive a gift from Wang Ling. The reason for Shadow Pavilion's existence is to serve the Wang family and this thought had been hammered in his head even when he was still just a child.

They were the sword that will take the head of the family's enemies and will be the shield that shall protect the family from any attack. They were the Wang family's greatest force.
Wang Ling giving him such a gift was something better than any praise. A simple gift such as this can be considered a treasure for some members of the Shadow Pavilion.
Qigang disappeared and reappeared in some inconspicuous place of the Martial Hall. There, he began watching over Wang Ling.
Wang Ling did not know that the martial technique he gave to Qigang was such a huge matter. It was just some technique he recovered from his memories.
"That was nice of you to give the guy a gift. Wasn't that technique a peak Celestial grade movement technique?" Bai Xue secretly asked Wang Ling as she munched on some beast core she got from the spirit beast she hunted on the way to this place.
"Well it's not like he's going to become any problem and his loyalty to my family is unquestionable. Just look at his eyes. I have seen blind followers before, but Qigang was on a different level."
Remembering Qigang's eyes made Wang Ling smile. He wanted to know how Qigang was trained to become so loyal. With a shrug of his shoulders, Wang Ling just asked Bai Xue.
"How's the technique I gave you? Is it any good?"
Bai Xue's ears shot up as she began to feel delighted, "Shi shi, that technique you gave me was rather impressive. Although still limited, two forms will be enough for me to easily kill a level-5 nascent soul spirit beasts even with my current level-2 nascent soul strength."
"You're becoming more monstrous by the day you know that?" Wang Ling commented after realizing just how ridiculous Bai Xue's comments were.
This comment made Bai Xue flare up as she angrily rebuked, "Shut up, your bloodlines should be enough to let you jump through levels and that angelic qi of yours is a cheat. Hmph, what's more, is that you still have that Hell spark thing still in wraps."
Keeping silence and only showing a smile. Wang Ling began to walk over towards the seven formations that were set up in the middle of the Martial Hall. He gave it a few nods before heading to someplace quiet where no one can bother him.
The representatives weren't here yet but will soon arrive. Wang Ling waited for the seven seniors to arrive in meditation. He focused himself on healing himself with the angelic qi.
Noon!
The seven great academy seniors flew from above and stood in front of everyone else. Wang Ling opened his eyes and got up from the ground.

He was feeling much better now and was finally capable of moving around with more freedom. Wang Ling walked over to the group that was forming in front of him and had stares directed at him again.
Wang Ling just shrugs them off. But the Zheng Zan's stare was so intense that Wang Ling had to acknowledge it, his passion for recruiting him was too bright.
A teacher appeared before them and began explaining some matters that didn't matter. But what it boiled down to was, the academy congratulating them and saying how proud they were to them… now go to the other academy and learn from them.
That was it and now, Wang Ling was standing before Zou Jianhong. Zou Jianhong didn't waste any time in making idle chats as he directly went into explaining what had to be explained.
"The examination of the Thundergod Academy is to test its students' might. Here, take this…" Zou Jianhong threw him a wooden plaque before continuing, "this plaque is important as it will record your [Thunderous Spirit].
"Thunderous Spirit refers to the spirit held inside the plaque in your hands. Inside a plaque is 1 thunderous spirit. Thunderous spirit can also absorb the life essence of other beings, the life essence of some level-1 spirit beasts is equivalent to 1 thunderous spirit. Level-2 equals to 2 spirit spirits. To pass the exam, you will need a [White Gold Plaque].
"Oh, a plaque has forms, [Wooden Plaque] 1 – 99 thunderous spirits, [Copper Plaques]. 100 – 199 thunderous spirits, [Iron Plaque] 200 – 299 thunderous spirits, [Bronze Plaque] 300 – 399 thunderous spirits, [Silver Plaque] 400 – 499, [Jade Plaque] 500 – 599 thunderous spirits, [Gold Plaque] 600 – 699 thunderous spirits, [White Gold Plaque] 700 – 799. [Black Gold Plaque] 800 – 899 thunderous spirits, and [Purple Gold Plaque] 900 – 999.
"The exam will last for a week, everyone who manages to get a white gold plaque by then will be accepted. You can do anything in the testing grounds to obtain your points. You can also take anything with you, pet and mount included, given that it fits in the portal."
Wang Ling nodded his head showing he understood what had just been said. Zou Jianhong turned around and took out a blue talisman from his storage ring. Zou Jianhong channeled his spirit qi into the blue talisman and threw it on the ground.
After throwing it, the talisman burned and a blue light emerged from the ground. A two meters in height and a meter wide oval-like portal appeared in front of Wang Ling. Zou Jianhong turned around and spoke.
"This will lead you to a random area on the testing grounds. The testing grounds are vast and many students will be sent there. The information I spoke of is everything you will need to remember. Also, once you enter, the examination is already considered to be starting."
Wang Ling understood and he bowed as he thanked Zou Jianhong for the information he gave and took a step forward and was just about to enter when Zou Jianhong added some more words.
"The more thunderous you have is going to give you some good things later. That's bonus information, take these words as some passing words that can be taken seriously depending on your take. I wish you luck then, Brother Wang Ling."
=====
Wang Ling entered the portal and soon found himself falling from the sky. He was startled. He opened his eyes and found that there was a large river down below.
But he didn't panic as Bai Xue quickly transformed into a Phoenix. Wang Ling asked her not to descend just yet. Their position was quite good and had a good view of the area.
Looking around, he saw some landmarks, strong spirit beasts, and humans running around all over the place. He saw many examinees going around picking a fight with everything in sight without a care for what might happen.
Wang Ling was disappointed as he said.
"Bai Xue, let's just wait it out for the next two days and let them gather thunderous spirits for us. May we have a bountiful harvest!"
Bai Xue had no reason to reject the idea as it was easy and was practical. Wang Ling stretched his body and went to find a good place to hide and recuperate.
Who needs to actively look for enemies and slowly gain thunderous spirits? He'll just take their points later when they are fat and was enough to make him pass. Wang Ling sighed as he lamented in the linear thinking of these people.
Who needed to actively hunt for prey? When they can be fattening and be readied for later and have them come at his doorsteps later?
