Celestial Peak Chapter 80

Wang Ling was the one being used as the mount for the time being. Bai Xue was resting on top of his head doing what she does best, eating. On her little paws was a storage ring where Wang Ling stored every beast cores she love treating as candy.
Wang Ling had been killing as he moved forward trying to look for his last target. He had been using his spear and bow to kill those minor preys. His body was slowly getting use to moving with the spear and bow in hand.
He was also using different techniques with his spear. Although he didn't use spirit qi when he executes the techniques because he didn't have the sufficient spirit qi to do so. Wang Ling was still getting used to moving around.
In regards to his Hunter's Soul which was the level-4 mastery in terms of archery. Wang Ling noticed that his arrows were as penetrating as ever. He did not rusted one bit.
Sword Heart for the sword, Spear Soul for the spear, and Hunter's Soul for the bow. Wang Ling was slowly getting into his peak performance in terms of his versatility. But of course, his sword was still the strongest on his weapon mastery.
In fact, he had been feeling a slight improvement on his sword. Although he could still not see if there was another realm in sword mastery over Sword Heart. Wang Ling was still quite sure that he had been able to improve. Well, it was very little improvement though. But at the very least he was improving.
After killing a lot of beasts and getting beasts cores from time to time, Wang Ling had finally managed to get used to using his weapons.
He kept them away and took out his trusty sword and quickly headed deeper into the mountains.
There was reason for his actions before deciding to head deeper. He wanted to first get a proper feel of his weapons so he can use them efficiently next time he actually meets someone that needed to be killed.

Wang Ling went deeper into the mountains and as he did, the more he encountered people who wore black clothes. They were like the clothes of those people he had just killed earlier.
At this point, it would be stupid of him if he didn't understood what was going on. There was some kind of powers present in this mountain. Wang Ling was sure that Qigang would have warned him if there was an actual power here so he didn't think that the base of these people was located here.
But even so, Wang Ling was all the more careful. He didn't want anyone seeing him.
If such a force was really present here, then should be here for something. He does not know what they are looking for but Wang Ling was sure that they wouldn't want anyone getting on their cases.
To prove this point, Wang Ling had seen these men in black clothing kill some rogue cultivators who had been trying to seek fortune in these mountains. Although he wasn't scared of them, Wang Ling didn't want them to come to him with the intent to kill.
A bee can killed easily if it was alone, but even half the hive can kill a human with their sheer numbers. If they attack him with the intent of dying with him, then there was no telling how he will fare against such people. Devil cultivators were borderline crazy.
While moving in the shadows, Wang Ling more and more people. He was beginning to think if this place really wasn't a den of devil cultivators. From what he had counted, he had seen 9 devil cultivators moving in a team of 3 members each.
The strongest members in these teams were level-3 nascent soul stage cultivators. Their structure was like those people he had met before, but unlike those people, the one leading these teams were middle-aged.
"I think we just killed a genius of their power. That girl was pretty young compared to these fellows. Wang Ling, can you find a place for me to cultivate? With our current strengths we will most likely die.

"Your path is yet to be solidified so for you to break through nascent soul is going to take a couple of days. You have reset your cultivation method after all. If we wait that long, there's a good chance these guys will increase in numbers. Let me improve my strength first before we move on."
Wang Ling nodded his head and went to quietly find a cave where he'll be able to rest and cultivate. It took a while but Wang Ling found a good place near a river. The cave was well hidden.
He entered the cave and found it quite chilly. Even so, he didn't start a fire as that might attract enemies towards their location. Wang Ling and readied everything for Bai Xue and piled over two hundred thousand spirit stone around Bai Xue.
Seeing such a scene made Bai Xue nod her head in satisfaction. She had just broken through a couple of days ago but because she constantly munches on spirit plants and beast cores that was dense in spirit qi, Bai Xue could break through the next level with just the right amount if resources.
Bai Xue was a spirit beast with a special constitution of being able to refine just almost everything that enters her mouth. She unlocked this kind of body after getting that devouring innate ability of hers.
This kind of body was something really convenient for her current situation. Bai Xue estimated that if all goes well, she'll be able to reach her former state in less than a decade.
Bai Xue sat in the middle of the spirit stones and began absorbing the qi. Wang Ling saw her starting and he went near the entrance to keep watch for any intruder. If those guys in black are trying to find something, then they will most likely search the entire mountain.
He needed to keep watch so nothing bad will happen, and he'll be able to deal with anything that might happen, Wang Ling was patient and sat in one corner and started thinking some things.
Time passed and nothing was really happening. While his mind was still focus, he suddenly noticed that his surrounding had changed. In front of him was now a palace that was hidden behind some kind of see-through barrier. Wang Ling did not know where this palace came from and how he ended up there but he was intrigued.
He approached the palace and stretched his arms forward. Just as he was about to touch the barrier, his bloodline churned as if warning him not to touch the said barrier. But there was also something inside him that says touch the barrier.
Wang Ling was torn as to what he should do. His devil bloodline warned him but something else wanted him to do approach and touch this see-through barrier. Wang Ling did not know what to do.
Just as he was considering as to what he should be doing something landed on her shoulders and turned his head over only to see Bai Xue was already done cultivating and had already reached level-2 nascent soul stage.
"What were you thinking just now?"
Wang Ling still had a confuse look on his face but soon threw the ridiculous idea of a palace appearing in front of him in the back of his head. Wang Ling was curious what that barrier was, but he stop caring about it and just shook his head.
"Let's go." Wang Ling urged Bai Xue and the two of them left. Wang Ling didn't even seem to notice that he had experienced a change.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.

Murphy's Law
****Story has been dropped for being too dark**** "Anything that can go wrong, will." But what if you know what goes wrong in advance? On Earth, monsters come in human form. Some are ostracized or locked up, but others walk amongst us. They’re more common than one would think and they grow in number the higher in the hierarchy you go. With 1 in 100 people preying on the other 99, eventually, a world trying to summon a hero might end up with a monster that doesn't feel like playing along. _____________________________ The story is my take on some of my favorite genre's and tropes, some of which I have no I idea if they'll work well together. English is not my main language so if you notice any typos or grammar mistakes please tell me so I can correct them. Criticism and critique are more than welcome:) A chapter every Tuesday.*I do not own the cover image, it's taken from google.

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.

Two Existentialists | S.R.
"How many existentialists does it take to screw a lightbulb?" Spencer asked with a small laugh. Once again the room was silent. You faintly heard Agent Rossi mutter, "Don't.""2. One to change the light bulb and one to observe how it symbolizes an incandescent beacon of subjectivity in a netherworld of cosmic nothingness," he said. The room was silent still, until you laughed. His eyes looked up at yours in confusion. "Wouldn't they sit in the dark and hope that the bulb decided to light again? An existentialist would never change the bulb. He would allow the darkness to exist," you questioned.-#1 #spencerreid#1 #mgg#1 emilyprentiss
