Before daybreak, Wang Ling was already awake and was cultivating. He was not using any kind of external force like spirit plants or pills as that had long been eaten and absorbed by him.

He opened his eyes and saw the lazy Bai Xue had already opened her eyes and was yawning and stretching atop the bed. Wang Ling took out a spirit plant that she asked him to keep and Bai Xue started eating 'breakfast'.

For the past few days, Bai Xue's aura had been gradually changing. She was only a level-1 nascent soul stage spirit beast, but Wang Ling doubted that he will be able to win against her.

There are two kinds of cultivation realms, first was the 'Phases' where foundation phase, saint phase, and celestial phase are all under. The other was 'Boundaries' where Nascent Soul stage and [Dominion Stage] belongs to.

Unlike in 'phases' that have three other phases, and had sub levels of early, middle, late, and pinnacle. Boundary realm only have one stage that have nine sub-levels, namely level-1 to level-9.

Boundary realm was fundamentally different than phases. Phases is centered in the common and mainstream path of cultivation which was training, absorption, and comprehension.

The path of cultivation was laid out and only needed to be followed. That was basically the Phases. Boundary realm on the hand deals in an introspective manner. Boundary realm is the realm that one needs to take their time in looking in one's own path to cultivation.

In a more basic and simplistic terms, Phases were mainstream while Boundaries were exclusive. Everyone are different once they enter nascent soul stage. The strength of the nascent soul that is formed by a cultivator differs from everyone.

No one can have the same nascent soul and those who inherited legacies are no different. People have different forms of understanding and comprehension.

Wang Ling did not know what kind of nascent soul Bai Xue had formed inside her energy palace. When he healed her, she was only at energy palace stage and had yet to reform her nascent soul so he did not manage to take a peek.

However, Wang Ling was well aware that Bai Xue's nascent soul was unique and strong. He reckoned that he wouldn't be her match if they were to fight. But watching the carefree and lazy Bai Xue sometimes make Wang Ling forget that she was a beast that is supposed to be even more terrifying than the four deities.

[I need to catch up real quick.] a scene where in an unlikely event where Wang Ling was being eaten by Bai Xue appeared inside his head. He needed to become stronger fast or else he will be left behind and will become useless and weak.

Shaking his head, Wang Ling got up from the floor and took out a sword. He practiced swinging his sword and started training his Heaven Vanquisher. This went on until sunrise where he found it was time to stop.

"Let's leave." Urging Bai Xue to move, Wang Ling left the inn after paying the corresponding fee. He went out of the inn and headed for the Ancient Creed Mountain. He was a mere pinnacle-energy palace cultivator, no, he was a half-step nascent soul cultivator and his targets were three level-2 to level-3 nascent soul beast.

Wang Ling had prepared everything beforehand. He took everything into consideration and bought the last weapon on his arsenal. Although he already have the sword and the spear, Wang Ling had to buy 'it' to put his mind at ease.

He was a master of the sword and had it as his main weapon. But because different fights calls for different type of approach, Wang Ling had to prepare.

Bai Xue changed into his Phoenix form soon after leaving the city. Of course they made sure that nobody was around when she did.

Wang Ling got on her back and she flew into the air and acted like a true sovereign of the skies. Bai Xue let out a screech and almost every avian type savage and spirit beast alike tremble.

Bai Xue laughed when she saw some low-leveled beast below her. Wang Ling only sighed at this sight and said nothing to her. Bai Xue flew quickly and reached Wang Ling's first target.

Bai Xue was hovering above a Devil Horn Buffalo. Below her was the Devil Horn Buffalo that had extremely large body with taut muscles peeking out in between its black scales. With its tough looking hide and armored like scales that spreads all over its body paired with those terrifying devilish horns that was sticking out of its head, the Devil Horn Buffalo was a terrifying to behold.

Its size alone was enough to make anyone tremble in fear. But Wang Ling showed no sign of fear. Instead, he stood tall on Bai Xue's back while breathing deeply. He closed his eyes and calmed his mind.

"A level-1 nascent soul stage spirit beast, can you take it?" asked Bai Xue.

Wang Ling was technically still at energy palace stage but he could already tell the strength of the Devil Horn Buffalo. His sensing capabilities had already improved. He knew its strength but he was not going to ask for help.

With his eyes still closed, he answered, "Yes, just go to some tree and watch me fight it out." Wang Ling's aura surge and he jumped off her back, his senses then stretched outwards and his five-meter area appeared.

A pair of black wings then appeared behind him and his speed faster. With a flap of his wings, his aura burst out of his body and he became a black streak of light. He dove down and the Devil Horn Buffalo noticed that something was coming from above.

Wang Ling's sword was drawn and he executed Judgement without delay. He intended to behead the beast in one slash but the beast reacted quickly.

The Devil Horn Buffalo turned over as it let out a roar. Its scales glowed deep color of dark light as devil might burst out of its body. The buffalo's gigantic body moved as it went ahead and met with Wang Ling's sword.

Clang!

Wang Ling's sword was sharp and deadly, but the Devil Horn Buffalo's defense was too tough. His sword only managed to nick its armor but was unable to make any apparent damage on the beast's body.

"Foolish human! You dare challenge me with such meager strength?" roaring, the Devil Horn Buffalo became enrage as it felt that it was being look down upon by the weak human.

The Devil Horn Buffalo was just about to go into a rage when it noticed something weird, the young man in front of it had the aura of a human but that thick energy coming from him belongs to a devil.

He was human but also a devil, but the feeling coming from him does not feel fake like those devil cultivators. Wang Ling's aura felt purer, it was clearer and genuine. This made the Devil Horn Buffalo confused.

"What are you? You're not one of those trash devil cultivators who appeared yesterday, your blood is pure so much so that you are dominating my blood!" the Devil Horn Buffalo felt irritation from the bottom of its heart. Not only that, the intimidation coming from Wang Ling was not something to scoff at.

Wang Ling did not respond and positioned himself. With a flap of his wings, he disappeared and reappeared right in front of the Devil Horn Buffalo, his sword absorb two of his qi pillars and an aura of slaughter mixed with pure sword qi and supreme spirit qi executed Judgement once again.

Bam!

This time, his sword wasn't bounce back and he had managed to hit the area near its 'armored' brows. However, his sword only managed to chip its scaly armor a little bit and didn't really dealt any significant damage.

Flailing around, the Devil Horn Buffalo wanted to retaliate but Wang Ling twisted his body and coming from below, his sword rose into the air as it devoured two more qi pillars.

Slash!

He slashed out once again which resulted for a cross to appear in the Devil Horn Buffalo's scaly forehead to appear. Wang Ling's two attacks intersected one another and created that mark.

However, even with his two sword attack stacked atop one another. It was not enough to actually deal any kind of damage. But he was not done.

He knew that the Devil Horn Buffalo's forehead was thick so it would be stupid to try and attack it there. Using the upward momentum of his slash, Wang Ling flapped his wings and reappeared above the Devil Horn Buffalo.

Using three qi pillars this time, Wang Ling slashed at the Devil Horn Buffalo's peeking muscles. In between those scales were the taut muscles and Wang Ling slashed out at its nape where one of these cracks and spaces were located.

Blood started to spurt out of the Devil Horn Buffalo's nape. The hulking Devil Horn Buffalo roared in pain and started flailing all over and got Wang Ling off its back.

Wang Ling jumped of its back and flew into the air.

The Devil Horn Buffalo was enraged from being injured and feeling so much pain. Its blood rage on as it began to stomp its hooves in rage. Its horns that was already menacing enough began to waver and move. The horn somehow managed to twist and repositioned itself to be pointed at its opponent.

The spurting blood stopped, and its armor began to spread all over its body and covered even more parts of the Devil Horn Buffalo's body.

The black glow that it was emitting changed and turned slightly bloody. The Devil Horn Buffalo activated its bloodline out of rage. Its hooves started digging onto the ground as it prepared its charge.

The devil's aura started coming out of the Devil Horn Buffalo's body and was becoming thicker by the minute. Wang Ling quietly flew in the air without saying a word. He was right above the Buffalo and without a doubt he was in an advantage.

Wang Ling saw the change the Devil Horn Buffalo undergone and smiled. It had just ignited its bloodline and was brimming with battle intent and power. It would be dangerous to fight with it now.

So, Wang Ling just floated in the air and watched the Devil Horn Buffalo raging below. He had wings and the Devil Horn Buffalo did not, there was no way the Devil Horn Buffalo would be able to beat him if it couldn't reach him.

Bloodline ignition was a powerful weapon, but it was also risky. The Devil Horn Buffalo's strength must have improved, but the price that had to be paid for that power was something that Wang Ling was well aware.

A weakened state, that's the next phase after that burst of power.

The Devil Horn Buffalo was well aware of the consequences and realized that Wang Ling had no intent of going down to fight. Seeing this, the Devil Horn Buffalo felt trepidation in its heart as it understood what was happening here.

"Devil, come down and fight me like a man! Don't be a pussy and run away, I will tear you to pieces. COWARD!!!!!!"

Wang Ling said nothing and just watched it act like a stupid animal. Time passed and the bloodline ignition disappeared. The Devil Horn Buffalo entered a weakened state and as soon as it did. The Devil Horn Buffalo reverted back to its original form and as soon as it did, Wang Ling made his move and dove from above and beheaded the Devil Horn Buffalo.

He smirked as he remarked.

"I am no coward… I'm just smarter than you."
