The fight continued inside the colosseum. The fights were showered with cheers, but none was able to replicate the reaction of Wang Ling's fight. In comparison to Wang Ling's one man show, their fights were lackluster.

But the audience cheered for them nonetheless. At noon, almost every fight was already done. From set A to J, there were only 10 sets. Wang Ling was from the earliest set so he had a lot of time to practice.

There were numerous fights, there were dozens of contestants in each set. But the fights of the different sets occurred all at the same time. The platform was wide and large, it could accommodate nine different fights at a time.

This was the process of the tournament. The first bout of set A was a mere opening, and was actually meant to just rile up the audience before dividing the platform for each set.

Right now, the first placers of each set was beginning to be finalized. Individual fights were about over and Wang Ling who was a part of the crowd was lazily watching by the spectators seats.

There were three sets that caught his attention, set C, E, and J because that's the only place fight with people he knew. Wang Ling didn't really care about other contenders.

[Oh, Zi Liang actually managed to reach pinnacle energy palace stage and fought her way to the finals?

Lu Lin is getting better, I see that her moves are improving.

As for Fang Guan, well, he's still moving with his body as his main weapon. He's going to become stronger if he can get a stronger body refinement method. Wait, do I need a meat shield?]

Wang Ling was making comments inside his mind and while watching the fights. He was laughing at the silly mistakes made by the students. Soon, these fights were beginning to end one by one.

Lu Lin finished her fight and she was able to beat her opponent without a problem. Fang Guan was the same and he destroyed his opponent like he was playing with a toothpick. Zi Liang had a haggard look on her face and she had many injuries, but she managed to win.

After seeing them win their bouts, Wang Ling got up and got ready himself.

The fight ended a few minutes later and the elder with the long beard flew into the air and announced.

"Winner of set A, and everyone else, gather in the middle of the platform."

Wang Ling showed up and everyone in the crowd began to cheer and called for his name. Carrying a look of indifference, he soon found his way to the middle of the platform and lined up with the other students.

"You have endured much…" the long bearded elder paused his words and looked at the nine students who managed to win against their opponents with grueling effort and then at Wang Ling who was practically unscathed before continuing, "…and now, the prices is going to be all yours."

The long bearded elder waved his hand and ten palm-sized jades that had the word 'Examinee' engraved on its surface appeared.

"These jades are your pass to directly enter the examination of the seven great academies. Normally, you would need to enter an evaluation phase before gaining the right to participate in the actual exams but with these tokens, you will be able to enter the exams without a problem.

"The bouts was witnessed by the envoys of the seven great academies who will also be forming the formation of each academy that will directly send you to academy of your own choosing. Seven Great Academy envoys, if you will…"

A light coming from the area where the Northern Faith was settled became lively as a young man rose into the air and performed a set of movement skill that had the essence of a dragon swimming in the ocean.

After performing such an awe inspiring skill, that student descended onto the platform and suddenly began to explaining:

"The Northern Faith Academy is a competitive place where we nurture out students with great care. We of the Northern Faith Academy focuses on the mastery of martial techniques and learn from it so we can broaden our horizon and look beyond what others can perceive." That student then turned to Wang Ling.

After saying his piece, the second area where the Heavenly Refinement Academy resides bursts into flames as a student from that academy rose into the air like a phoenix.

The student descended onto the platform and said words about the perks of his academy:

"The Heavenly Refinement Academy's goal is to refine everything that exist. If you can refine everything then you can cultivate anything and anywhere. Refine the heaven and the earth that is the goal of the Heavenly Refinement Academy." and just like the other student of the Northern Faith Academy, he too looked at Wang Ling.

These continued on and on. Presenting a skill that is more glorious than the other, as they tried to one up each other in the hopes of trying to catch the attention of one student.

Heaven's Will Academy: "We follow the will of heavens in order to one day ascend to it. We also cultivate with righteousness and have been fighting with the Abyss realm for the past couple of millennia."

Thundergod Academy: "Join us, we will make you stronger." That was it.

Sacred Beast Academy: "In the realm, there are also beasts that is far stronger than humans. We of the Sacred Beast Academy will train alongside them and fight together with them."

Ancient Scripture Academy: "We are the only Academy that studies the ancient teachings of the era before us. By integrating the knowledge of out era and the last, we will become stronger and surpass everything."

True Devil Academy: "To those who seek fast improvement then come to us. Our academy does not care what kind of method you use to improve. Improve faster than anyone else and you will be one standing atop everyone else. Join us, and being a celestial is only a matter of time."

Every academy made their introductions and the students who saw it was left speechless and was in awe of what they had just witness.

The long bearded elder let out a cough and spoke after everything was settled, "Now choose your path. Just step forward and you will be given a talisman by then that is going to be your ticket in the near future."

Everyone was hesitant at first but Wang Ling just took a step forward and started walking towards the lined up envoys of different academies. Everyone looked at his action with great interest as they waited what he would choose.

Not caring for their opinions, Wang Ling stopped in front of the envoy from the Thundergod Academy, "I'm going with the Thundergod Academy."

The envoy from the Thundergod Academy was full smiles. He handed Wang Ling a talisman and said a few words to him, "The examination will be held in two weeks. The formation will be set up in two weeks so prepare what you must in that time frame. Improve your strength before you enter, there are other examinees who will be at half-step nascent soul stage and even pinnacle-nascent soul stage examinees over there."

The Piercing Heaven Academy tournament only extends to pinnacle-energy palace stage students. But that doesn't mean other places are the same as they are.

There are places from other continent and other domains in the central region that will surely have higher criteria and standards. Although the Piercing Heaven Academy is a top power in their continent doesn't mean they are one if the whole realm is taken into consideration.

Wang Ling nodded his head and took the advice into his heart.

Everyone chose an academy that is most suited for them. Lu Lin and Fang Guan entered the Hundred Refinement Academy without hesitation. With the act of refinement present in alchemy, Lu Lin seems to be trying to pursue higher forms of alchemy, while Fang Guan is trying to find a good body refinement technique.

Zi Liang entered Sacred Beast Academy, which was out of Wang Ling's expectation. He didn't really care why she chose it, but he was curious. But in the end, he didn't try to inquire about the matter.

The entire process of choosing an academy was fast and quick. No bullshit happened except the piercing glare being shout at Wang Ling. The glare came from the True Devil Academy.

Wang Ling turned his head over and saw a young man over there who was looking all innocent. In the eyes of normal people, they wouldn't notice anything, but for Wang Ling, that student was like an open book.

[How cute, he's trying his best to hide his killing intent.] Wang Ling had seen many scheming old man from the past, this young man in front of him looked like a worm when compared to those snakes of the past.

Everything ended and Wang Ling got into the Thundergod Academy nice and easy. Wang Ling went out of the colosseum without wasting any time and called Bai Xue. Qigang came with Bai Xue and Wang Ling gave him various instructions.

"I'll be heading out now, I'll be out to kill some beasts in two weeks. Oh, make sure to send my letters to the main house."

"Please, let me come with you." Qigang suddenly protested.

Shaking his head, Wang Ling explained, "You can't, some idiotic will surely come and bother me soon after I leave. Your mission right now is to make sure no one will be able to follow me when I leave. You're free to kill and cripple those who try to follow me, no matter who it is, whether it be someone from the seven great academies or some local information dealers, you are free to erase them."

Wang Ling gave him instructions and Qigang was left with no choice but to follow it so with a reluctant nod, Qigang followed Wang Ling's orders and disappeared into the darkness.

Wang Ling appeared in the East Gate, he didn't have much time so he was keen on moving fast. He bought a lot of wine on his way and went out of the city.

After running away from the city, Bai Xue turned into her Phoenix form and flew into the horizon.

"Where are we going?" asked Bai Xue.

"To the Ancient Creed Mountain."
