Celestial Peak Chapter 44

Standing in front of a pavilion, Wang Ling had a passive look on his face. The smile he had was nowhere to be found as his mind was seriously going in circles as he tried of thinking ways on how he could drain this place out of cultivation resources.
[Should I try going around and rob the students? Or should I go and contribute something to the academy so they have to give me a reward?
Wait, this place should have a system of getting rewards right?]
This place was an academy. An academy was a place where students are groomed for the future and in grooming the young, the act of providing rewards was a necessity. He was sure that in the previous era there should be academies that provided treasures that could shake a Kingdom.
[If there is then I better get some so I can prepare for my breakthrough. The number of spirit stones is going to be immense this time as the formation of the cosmic energy palace requires a tremendous amount of spirit stones.]
While Wang Ling was at a lost in his own world as he contemplated about his future endeavor in this academy. Qigang let out a dry cough to let Wang Ling know that they were already here.
Wang Ling raised his head as he heard the Qigang and a smile formed on his face. The pavilion in front of him was a two storied building that has a simplistic sign that says, [Student's Pavilion].
Taking a step forward, Wang Ling entered the pavilion. The smell of books entered his nose as a great number of paper and records appeared. Wang Ling looked at the records and the people who were working tirelessly as they wrote on these records.
Wang Ling did not know what they were working on. He didn't care either way so he just let the curiosity that was about to pop in his head suppressed. As he entered, the people of the Student's Pavilion have yet to notice his presence.
The people working in the Student Pavilion were a mix of all ages. Some were young enough to be a teen while some were old enough to be lying in a coffin. All of them wore the same outfit of violet.
Wang Ling looked around and chose to call over the guy that was nearest to him.
"Hey, is this the place where new students register?" Wang Ling said in a carefree manner.
The guy looked at Wang Ling with an impatient look in his eyes and answered in the same manner, "Yes, but the recruitment had already ended so why are you asking this?"
"I just passed the Combat Admission Examination, some teacher name Jiang Wen gave me his Teacher's Medallion to verify what I am talking about." Wang Ling a golden medallion to the guy.
At first, the guy doubted Wang Ling's words, who would believe that a one-armed cultivator who has a frail looking body can pass that brutal examination. But after receiving the Teacher's Medallion that belongs to Jiang Wen.
The guy Wang Ling was talking to was someone who has a good understanding of Combat Admission Examination. He knew that Wang Ling had just fought with someone two levels higher than his cultivation.
"Please follow me." The guy said filled with respect. Wang Ling was led to the second floor then to another room. The guy knocked on the door and said, "Elder Jin, someone is here register as a new student."

After the guy's voice echoed, the voice from that room was heard, "What do you mean register? The recruitment has ended already, is this guy another one of those pampered young masters of the nobles again? For god's sake, what does these goddamn noble want by pleading to the academy to have their useless descendants train here?"
"This student claimed that he had gone through Combat Admission Examination. He carries the Teacher's Emblem of Teacher Jiang." The guy explained.
The voice was silent for a while before speaking, "…is that so, then you may enter."
The door opened and an old man who has a long white sitting behind a table that was filled with a bunch of paper appeared. The guy who guided them left after a bow. Wang Ling entered as he watched the old man read a scroll that was on his hands.
The old man spared Wang Ling no look as he continued to read. Wang Ling patiently waited until the old man could finish what he was reading. He found a chair and decided to sit without waiting for the old man's instruction.
While Wang Ling sat, the old man did what he had been doing and a good ten minutes quickly passed. The old man had finished the scroll then turned to look at Wang Ling.
Seeing the young man sitting there with composure without feeling the little bit irritated by his actions. The old man nodded his head in satisfaction. He exchanged gazes with Qigang who was behind Wang Ling before asking Wang Ling.
"So you're the one who passed the Combat Admission Examination? It seems like you don't have much talent in cultivation but your combat prowess is rather formidable. What a good seed."
Elder Jin let out a hearty laugh. When he was speaking about Wang Ling having not much of a talent in terms of cultivation, Qigang rolled his eyes. He had known the miraculous cultivation speed of the First Young Master, how can he be not talented?
If the First Young Master was not talented then no one in this world is talented. It hasn't even been a year yet since Wang Ling woke up and he's already catching to Wang Hong. Given enough time, Wang Ling will soon reach Wang Hong.
Referred to as the 'Hated Son of Heaven', Wang Ling was a monstrous genius that was given a strange disease because the heavens were frightened and jealous of his existence. This was the description use on Wang Ling by the Shadows who had seen him cultivate.
If Wang Ling could've been awake since the beginning and had the full support of the family from the start. Is it possible that Wang Ling could be a high stage saint now?
What this Elder Jin is seeing is the mere current cultivation stage of Wang Ling. Qigang knows that if Elder Jin could learn about Wang Ling's absurd feats, he wouldn't be treating Wang Ling like some nobody like this.
"Elder Jin flatters me." Wang Ling laughed at the straightforward comment of Elder Jin.
Seeing the carefree smile on Wang Ling's face, Elder Jin knew that he was not a normal person. He wasn't about to see through Wang Ling.
"So, you succeeded in Combat Admission Examination? That's good, so, who was your opponent? If Jiang Wen was the one who gave you his Teacher Emblem then he should be the one who prepared your opponent correct?"

There had been a lot of nobles who possesses no skill nor talent who had been trying enter the academy through various methods. It had been giving Elder Jin a lot of headache for a good ten years now.
Also, it had been a while since anyone passed the Combat Admission Examination. If he got it right, the last student who passed it is currently sitting as the top students for the seniors.
Wang Ling answered him honestly, "It was some no good disciple called Tian De."
Elder Jin's brows shot up when he heard Wang Ling's answer.
[Tian De? Isn't that the direct disciple of Teacher Jiang Wen? That Tian De is a genius that has attracted the eyes of the Thundergod Academies people as he has cultivated the [Killer Lightning Swordsplay].
This young man has actually defeated him?]
"So, it was Tian De. Did you fought him yesterday? It seems like your looking fine now."
Shaking his head, Wang Ling explained, "No, that is incorrect. I just fought him earlier today before heading to this place. I also received the medallion from Teacher Jiang Wen today."
Elder Jin tried his best to suppress the astonishment that was in his heart. Even though he had already fought a genius just now, this young man actually has the strength to casually stroll inside his workplace as if he didn't even fought.
He looked at Wang Ling with much more interest now as he acted like an unknowing old man and asked Wang Ling to continue. Wang Ling did what he was requested to do and started describing the events that had transpired earlier on the front gates.
The more Elder Jin listened, the more he became intrigue. The vivid description of Wang Ling managed to have Elder Jin put into a trance where he could play the events of earlier like he had been there.
"…the fight was quite good, but Tian De was not strong enough. In the end, I won the fight and Teacher Jiang Wen passed me his Teacher's Emblem as he needed to treat the injured Tian De… then I went here after walking around the academy."
Wang Ling explained. Elder Jin nodded his head and in the end, the only thing he could think of is that Wang Ling was going to have a hard but eventful life in this academy. Letting out a chortle, he took out a round silver badge from his bosom and tossed it to Wang Ling.
Wang Ling caught the silver badge and saw the mark of the spear that was engrave on the badge. He then heard Elder Jin's explanation.
"That's your badge and will become your ID from now on. To enter the academy, you will only need to show that to the guards. Once you circulate your spirit qi to that badge, your name will automatically be put in the records. Also, the silver badge means that you are a part of the outer-circle of the academy.
"To enter the inner-circle, you will need to reach energy palace stage. After reaching energy palace stage, just come here and have your student badge change. Seeing that your cultivation is already in the pinnacle of sky root stage, you should be able to reach the next stage in a few months."
Elder Jin explained. This silver badge that was not any bigger than his thumb was his identity inside this academy. Wang Ling circulated his spirit qi to the badge and the rules of the academy was entered his mind like a flood.
"Thank you, Elder Jin. Now, I will not waste any of your time anymore and will now leave." Wang Ling stood from the chair he was sitting on and bowed to Elder Jin to say his goodbyes. Elder Jin had a smile on his face as he watches Wang Ling close the door.
He stayed silent for good while before returning back to his numerous jobs.
Wang Ling exited the Student's Pavilion and then turned to look at Qigang. Qigang returned the look he was being given and celebrated as he said: "Congratulations, First Young Master."
Wang Ling waved his hands as if telling him to stop. The time was noon and the sun was still hanging above his head. He looked at Qigang and said.
"Do you think you can go and hunt the four Spirit Devil Beasts that are outside the Piercing Heaven Empire's territory?" Wang Ling questioned as he turned to Qigang.
"That is doable, but if I do that, the safety of the First Young Master will be at risk." Qigang said as he wanted to warn Wang Ling about the dangers of him leaving his side.
"That is fine, I will be staying inside the dormitories of the academy so you don't have to worry about my safety. Also, those four Spirit Devil Beasts are essential to my cultivation, I need them to advance." Wang Ling argued.
"Then why can't I just hunt the three Spirit Devil Beasts that is inside the territory of Piercing Heaven Empire?"
"Those are my targets. I need them to stay alive so I can hunt them in the future and train myself. I would love to hunt the other four but it seems like the selection for the 'spots' will begin in the eleventh month of the year. The remaining three will act as my targets and I will hone my battle sense when I hunt them down later.
"If I leave those Spirit Devil Beast until I gain the right to enter the Thundergod Academy, I will lose the opportunity to hunt them down. Aside for the other three that is nearer, I can't hunt down the other four as I lack time." Wang Ling explained.
Qigang didn't want to agree to Wang Ling but in the end he cave in and decided to hunt the four Spirit Devil Beasts: "I shall return in two months' time."
It was the eight month, he will return in the tenth. Wang Ling confirmed that Qigang was already gone and went to find where the dormitories lay. Now that Qigang was gone, he is now truly free and for two months, he will be able to move freely and train freely without the fear of getting discovered by Qigang.
