Celestial Peak Chapter 15

Five days after the banquet incident, Wang Ling is still the topic of many conversation around the Azure Skies Kingdom.
Varying opinions were being thrown with regards to Wang Ling's actions. Some says that he's the black sheep of the righteous Wang family, while others claim that he's a true genius who discriminates against no one.
However, unbeknownst to them is that the person who is the center of this incident doesn't even care how others see him as.
The sun had already risen and Wang Ling had already finished forging his sixth qi pillar. Right now he only need three more and he'll finally be able to cultivate spirit qi properly.
Right now his figure is dancing all over his front courtyard practicing the Tidal Wave Sword. He had already mastered the first form of the Tidal Wave Sword to consummation level of mastery and has already gone to practice the second form which is Tidal Wave.
Tidal Wave, is like Wave Ripple and only have one move which is to slash downwards. The Wave Ripple's essence is to stop the onslaught of oncoming wave, on the other hand, the essence of Tidal Wave is to rip apart the oncoming wave.
It is a tyrannical move that aims to aims to kill in a single hit. Wang Ling had only mastered it to advance stage but it's enough to protect himself from other cultivators.
In fact, he just might be able to kill an early earth root stage cultivator if he really tries.
Haa! Haa!
Wang Ling was drenched with sweat from head to toe. He wore no upper body clothes which revealed his muscles that has finally started to form. For the past five days, other than eating, sleeping and the occasional talks with his siblings, Wang Ling had repeatedly practiced his martial techniques.
He especially emphasized on the mastery of Eight Tiger Maneuvers which overuse his muscles every time he use. When he first used the Eight Tiger Maneuver he couldn't even last an hour, but now, he could repeat the maneuver for two hours straight.
It may not seem much but it's an improvement.
While executing the Tidal Wave over and over again his senses suddenly spiked. He had a sudden epiphany on how to properly use the Tidal Wave. He abruptly closed his eyes and raised the sword he was using above his head.
He paused and didn't move for a good hour until he opened his eyes and made the move.
Shing!
A clean sound of a blade cutting the wind resounded at the surrounding area. There was no obvious destruction caused. But when one looked at the grasses five meters surrounding him, there was a clear cut marks.
A gust of wind passed by and a patch of cut grass was taken away.
Huu!
Wang Ling exhaled as he realized that he had practice Tidal Wave to consummation level already. He looked at the sword before keeping it inside his storage ring.
"I better stop for today."
He said as he called for a maid to fixed him a bath. It took a while but Wang Ling finished cleaning himself in half an hour. He took a set of fresh clothes and changed. He then proceeded to head out so he can look for Butler Sun.
Wang Ling asked a maid to lead the way where Butler Sun could be found. He was then led to the back garden where Butler Sun and Wang Yue was sitting leisurely as they relaxed together.
Wang Yue was eating sweets and drinking tea, while Butler Sun was at the side writing something. Wang Ling head towards them and called out to Butler Sun. but before he could call out, Butler Sun saw him and called him out first.

"Young master you are here, are you finish with you training already?"
Wang Ling nodded his head, but didn't say anything else.
Butler Sun was full smiles, he was sure that Wang Ling was practicing just now because he would always check up on him first thing in the morning.
He had seen just how hard working Wang Ling is, how much determination he puts in his practicing every single day. Butler Sun was happy to see that the First Young Master of the Wang family is a genuine hard worker who doesn't need any kind of rousing to start the day.
"Young maser what can I do for you? Have you used up all the resources I gave you? You only lit up six qi pillars correct? Do you need anything? What about a spirit stone?"
Butler Sun asked. From what his First Young Master had told him, six of his nine pillars are already lit up and only three more to go and he'll be able to reach earth root stage.
One pillar per day. That's how fast his First Young Master was, although he wasn't as fast as Second Young Master who lit up all his nine qi pillars in five days, his progress was still outstanding.
Of course, Butler Sun only know what he had been told by Wang Ling. What he knows is that Wang Ling is progressing in his cultivation and practice but the truth is that the other party is yet to even completely reconstruct his qi pillars.
The reason why Wang Ling was lying like this is because he needed to show his 'worth'. If he can show his talent off then more resources will be coming on his way. Until he breaks through the foundational stages of cultivation, he needs to continue this.
"I don't need resources for now, but I need access to the Royal Library, I have stumbled some interesting points last night and I want to confirm my doubts with books."
Wang Ling lied as if he was breathing.
"Alright, I'll get the Golden Emblem to let you pass through the doors of the Royal Library."
Of course Butler Sun nodded his head as he believed every word that came out of Wang Ling's mouth. He got up from the chair he was sitting on and went somewhere to get something.
Wang Ling was left with Wang Yue in the back garden. Wang Ling looked at Wang Yue, he nodded his head and Wang Yue responded by offering him the sweets she was eating, which happened to be biscuits.
Wang Ling smiled and happily took a biscuit. But then, he noticed Wang Yue's fidgeting and realized what she wanted.
"Do you want to come with me?"
Wang Ling asked. She was also like this when she heard that Wang Ling was going outside for the first time so Wang Ling managed to grasp what she wanted to say. Day by day, he was not only improving at cultivation, but also with his interaction with his family.
Speaking of family, Wang Ling noticed that some loud guy was missing and thought of Wang Hong. He looked around and realized that he was nowhere to be found. Usually he would be sticking with Wang Yue trying to get her attention but right now he's gone.
"Hey, where's Wang Hong? Did he go somewhere?"
Wang Ling asked.
"No, older brother Wang Hong said that he would be going to the Black Beast Mountain and left this morning. He told us that to relay that to big brother but we didn't bother your practice, we didn't tell you earlier. He'll come back in two to three days he said."

Wang Ling had a look of sudden realization and understood the situation. A cultivator like Wang Hong is someone who should be out there and honing himself through countless battles.
He had looked down on Wang Hong previously because he was messing around with low-level fights too much. But it seems like that's not entirely the case.
[From what I read, the Black Beast Mountain is not that dangerous.
It should have a Spirit Beast in there but nothing to serious. Wang Hong should be a Nascent Soul stage cultivator so everything is going to be fine.]
Wang Ling was not sure what Wang Hong was actually going to do in the Black Beast Mountain. Either way, he didn't really want to know because it doesn't really mean much to him for now.
Wang Ling ate the biscuits while Wang Yue happily read the book she was holding. After a while, Wang Yue finished the entirety of the book and Butler Sun subsequently returned to the back garden.
He passed a golden emblem with a design of a floating cloud engraved in the middle.
"This is the Cloud Medallion. It will grant you entry to the Royal Library." Butler Sun generously explained.
"Yue said she wanted to go too, can you give her one?"
"Of course, of course. Here you go young miss, oh, if you meet any member of the royal family, please send them my regards."
Wang Ling nodded his head and left, Wang Yue did the followed him closely behind. Butler Sun who was left there returned to writing the letter he ought to write. A smile crept up to his face as he thought about the reactions the two master's will have once they learned about the First Young Master's sudden improvement.
"The imperial contract is already ending, the master should be finishing up the scrubs on the south. We need to leave this Kingdom soon after all."
….
Wang Ling and Wang Yue left the Wang family manor. At first they thought they would be going out without a chaperone but when they got to the front gate, they were met by two guards and a maid.
The two guards were the same guards who acted as Wang Ling and Wang Yue's bodyguard in the past. The maid was the maid called Qiqi who always helped Wang Yue tend to the spirit plants.
Wang Ling didn't really care if there were guards and guide so he just followed them to where the Royal Library is. The library wasn't that far so they soon reached the Royal Library.
The Royal Library was situated near the palace, in fact one can walk for five minutes and he or she can reach the front gate of the palace.
The exterior of the Royal Library was really grand. It had columns line up from one end to the other, exempting as there is a path that lead to the twenty meter wide door. There were ten guards wearing golden armors and holding golden spears in front of the library.
"This is the royal library young master, young miss. Please show your emblems to one of the guards and they will let you inside. Every person who enters will be able to bring an acquaintance inside. I will be coming with the young miss as per the Head Butlers instructions. How about you young master, we'll you have one of the guards follow you?"
Wang Ling shook his head to this question. He wanted to head inside the library and read about the history of the continent peacefully.
Seeing Wang Ling's response, Qiqi bowed her head and led the way. The guards saw their approach and stopped them at the doors of the library, Wang Ling and Wang Yue took out the medallion they were given and the guards immediately stopped what they were doing and let them through.
Wang Ling nodded his head to them and looked at the two guards who were following them.
"You can wait here for now." he relayed his instructions to the two guards which they reacted with a respectful bow.
When they entered the library, Wang Ling was welcomed by a soothing breeze.
[There's a formation set up here.] He thought.
There were two different floors in the royal library, but only the direct descendantst of the royal family can enter the second floor so Wang Ling was left to wander around the first floor.
Wang Yue bade Wang Ling farewell the moment she saw the collection of books contained in the royal library. She went ahead to the place where spirit plant sections are found. Wang Ling was not worried about her because the maid with her seemed to be responsible enough to take care of his sister.
Inside the library, everything was decorated with high quality materials, the hundreds of bookshelves lined up were made of Hundred year old wood and there were a lot of people maintaining the books.
Nodding his head in approval, Wang Ling observed the people inside.
Reputed scholars could be seen all over the place, reading away as they made wrote down notes.
Aside from these old scholars there were also a lot of youths reading. Wang Ling didn't mind them and move silently across the wide and spacious area of the library.
Walking up to one of the few people maintaining the books, he asked for the place where he could browse about the continent's history.
The person he asked guided him to a place at the very back of the library. Before long, he was presented with a single bookshelf that stands at ten meter tall.
Saying his thanks, Wang Ling started browsing through the books. While reading the books, he noted everything down in his brain. Creating a list of important points of history, before long he was somewhat able to understand the entirety of this continent.
Closing the book he had chosen randomly, Wang Ling began to understand his current position. The name of the continent was recorded in the book and he learned that its name was, «Blazing Wing Continent».
In the past era, no such continent exist. However, he was sure this is not a different world. The name of this realm was still Celestial Spirit Realm so he was sure that it was not a different one.
There were many powers in the Blazing Wing Continent. Sects and Kingdoms were one of these powers.
Azure Skies Kingdom was not regarded highly in the Blazing Wing Continent. But it was one of the four Major Kingdoms under the « Piercing Skies Empire » so it had a rather good reputation.
There were a lot more information about the continent like where the danger spots were located. However, there were no more information regarding the overall situation of the continent.
After a while of browsing, he was able to read about thirty books in total. The more he read, the more he understood. But then, he read one particular book which made him truly interested. It took his attention and after reading through the whole thing, Wang Ling smiled.
"Abyssal Mini Realm? Now that's interesting."

His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
