Epic Of Caterpillar Chapter 903

Although Kireina was brought back to reality, the conversation between Chaos and the Tree of the Universe continued for a little time.
"You're putting too much faith into something that could ultimately lead to our demise… Don't you understand the dangers of her very existence? You have once said that you would defy even the Overseers… Is this your way of doing it? By giving your daughter all the responsibility?" asked the Tree of the Universe.
Chaos remained silent for a moment, her bravado seemingly disappeared as she knew very well what she was doing to her daughter Kireina.
"I didn't want this," she said.
"What?" asked the Tree of the Universe.
"I created her because I simply wanted to love something. I had seen many times through the vastness of the world what being a parent and taking care of your young was. It was something beautiful I wanted to experience… The Overseers came for different motives. My first thought was to secure her survival, and I sent her through a wormhole… What happened afterward was not of my intervention… She simply came back to me and told she was going to beat the Overseers and same me… and that… she loved me…" sighed Chaos.
The Tree of the Universe sighed.
"You're telling me that from all the possibilities within the vastness of the universe, she somehow came back to you without you doing anything over it?" asked the tree of the universe.
"Indeed. She came back by herself. She developed her abilities and… found a family to love. I had long given up on any salvation. But she simply offered herself to help me after I told her the truth. I kid you not, I tried to convince her many times to not try to do this but… she continued to insist until I couldn't go against her noble and beautiful wishes. I simply… decided to trust my daughter," said Chaos.
"Chaos… You're really hopeless… Your decision will get us all killed…" sighed the Tree of the Universe.
"You can think that… or you can think otherwise," said Chaos.
"What?" asked the Tree of the Universe.
"Trust my daughter, Tree," said Chaos, her voice resounding with a resolve that the Tree of the Universe had never sensed in Chaos before.
"Hm… I have to admit it, there was something within her that made her rather charismatic. And to say the truth, this is the first time I have ever see you so filled with resolve and purpose. Before all of this, you barely had a personality and were simply an embodiment of Chaos. But now… you have evolved to the point of being able to hold conversations," laughed the Tree of the Universe.
"So you choose to mock my resolve?" asked Chaos.
"…No. I will give some faith to her. But… I won't hold much trust. I guess the least I could do is to somehow hope for her achievements to be enough… There's nothing much that can be done at this point…" sighed the Tree of the Universe.

"Thanks, mother." Said Chaos.
"…Mother?" asked the Tree of the Universe.
"My daughter said that you were technically her grandmother. This makes you my mother, isn't it?" asked Chaos.
"…As beings that transcend simple mortals and hold not many feelings, I had never considered myself any of that. Is there any point in holding people by titles that families make? What is the point of that?" sighed the Tree of the Universe.
"Well, don't you hold dear your trees?" asked Chaos.
"…Technically, I feel they're valuable to connect myself with the universe. But I suppose I wasn't particularly angered with your daughter over her trying to fuse with one, I simply wanted her to stop her because of her insolence, alongside what she was trying to do and what was to come… But you stopped me, and here we are," said the Tree of the Universe.
"Huh, you have gotten more honest as well, and also talkative. You were always silent…" said Chaos.
"…Is that so? I suppose something on me has changed after eons. But don't hold your hopes up, Chaos. I am not going to become your mother over such stupidity," sighed the Tree of the Universe.
"At least I tried, very well then, I shall go to rest now…" said Chaos, as she disappeared from the area.
"Mother… Grandmother… me?"
"…"
"No… I should stop thinking such trivial things…" sighed the Tree of the Universe.
Meanwhile, within the infinity of the universe, in a vast spatial Primordial Deity Realm, a mass of brilliant light, the complete opposite of Chaos, rested…
It was The One, the brilliance of creation, the infinite, order, and law. The opposite of Chaos, as both came to be at the same time.
The One had gotten to know already about Chaos and the Tree of the Universe conversation, and also about how Kireina, which he gave the Title of Demiurge had already learned her origins.
It was because she was the child of Chaos that he had given her such a Title, to begin with, it was a way for him to show that he wanted to be on friendly terms with Chaos… but there was also another underhanded motive.
By giving her his blessing, Kireina could be partially watched over by him, so he can monitor her growth and see what she can do…
After discovering that she held a Trait that could change everything as he knew it, he couldn't help but smile, he had indeed done good by obeying his instincts and helping Kireina, in the end, she was truly "the chosen one" for the lack of a better term.
"So she has learned many things… and it seems that she is learning even more now. Kireina is truly an interesting entity. Although… Maybe Chaos might find it weird that I have developed an interest in her daughter, so I better not say it out loud…" he sighed.
After that, The One began to glance at the large world of Genesis, an immense mass of clouds and bright gases coated the many Realms, which floated in space while slowly rotating around the sun.

This was a strange world, it was once a planet that was destroyed, and through the powers of the World's Will and the Supreme Gods, I was made into this space, the pieces of the vast planet were made into small floating islands named Realms, where entire worlds and ecosystems had surged after the Gods of the world took over them and used their divinities to generate new atmospheres.
The world seemed like a nebula where many, enormous pieces of land the size of continents or bigger floated freely, each one containing a self-contained atmosphere maintained by the Gods reigning within them.
It was a wondrous world, a very rare one, and there were often not many worlds with similar conditions… Although to The One's mind, there were still some strange "flat worlds" that existed around, such as Abyss, a self-contained pseudo-dimensions originally made by many Gods who all perished, only leaving two to reign over it, amongst many others.
He glanced a Genesis with interest and a wondrous expression, this world was truly filled with wonders, some that you couldn't easily find elsewhere… And well, this world was also governed by what many mortals would believe to be "his child".
Amongst the many Angels, Archangels, and other entities that The One had created from his residual existence, there was one created from him and Chaos once in the past, a child that wandered the cosmos and neglected them, which looked for something… a place to attach itself and belong to.
Eons ago, this child reached an enormous world, several times bigger than Earth which was overflowing with life and an intelligent race similar to humans from Earth, it could be said that this world was a Parallel Earth, a very diverged one.
The Humans of this Parallel Earth fought with everything they had against this entity, but in the end, their technology which even was able to gather the power of the universe to a small extent proved to be useless against the entity, and they were defeated.
A large group of the surviving humans escaped the planet, choosing to delve into the cosmos than to obey and become the puppets of this entity, meanwhile, others without resources or money to be invited into these ships were left in the planet, as they underwent mutations through the Mana and Divine Energy spread by the entity over the planet, forced to survive against the monsters that began to emerge after normal animals also underwent mutations.
After many years of survival, the world somewhat stabilized, and many societies were reconstructed, humans learned how to use the powers of the world which originated from this entity to grow stronger and comprehend the Great Dao, attaining immortal souls through the constant refinement of the three primordial energies, and becoming Gods.
"To think that you brought the demise of the planet you were so happy to have snatched… And now, you're barely holding everything together. Still trying to grasp what is already lost. Genesis is a world filled with sorrow…" sighed The One.
"Your sister has finally shown up, and through this world, it seems to be constantly growing… What will you do? How will you respond to this? Well… you're already trying to get rid of her, aren't you? I do wonder… when the time for both of you to finally fight… what will you do? Which sister will reign supreme? And which one… will lose and die? Or… could there be hope for you to one day reconsider things? …Perhaps not. It has been some time since then…"
As The One wondered many things, he decided to manage other things… until he suddenly received a call from someone…
"Oh… Samsara…" he said.
"The One, it has been some time…" said the entity, who had named itself Samsara.
"What do you call me for?" asked The One.
"With due respect, great Primordial One… Why are you assisting the Child of Chaos? She brought the Apocalypse and demise of millions of worlds and uncountable lives… What is your purpose behind all of this?" asked Samsara.
"You're rather bold. Speaking with me like that… Whatever I do is not your problem," said The One.
"But…!" muttered Samsara.
"Don't you have thousands of Transmigration Gods and Worlds to take care of? Why don't you go do your work?" asked The One.
"…But I want to know," said Samsara.
"If I don't want to tell you, I won't. Do you have a problem with that? Are you bold enough to inquiry on God's Wrath?" asked The One.
"…Very well then, if that's what you want…" sighed Samsara, as his presence went away.
"What an annoying youngster…" sighed The One. However, he found some truth behind Samsara's doubt.
Samsara was a great entity just below the Primordial Deities, he was a being above Gods who managed the Transmigration Cycles of billions of worlds, his Gods, named Transmigration Gods, were his creations, similar to Archangels for The One.
He used the Transmigration Gods to manage all these worlds, as he gained power constantly through the management of an uncountable amount of souls, which he let fly freely across the vast of the Universe.
Due to his important position as someone who held power over Souls like not many other entities below the Primordial Deities such as Null, the Void Dragon of Death, The One gave him a few privileges, such as letting him talk to him if there was any need or trouble he was having and depending in which trouble, The One might even offer a little bit of help through his Archangels.
However… his concern over The One, who was seen as a righteous existence helping the literal Child of Chaos was natural, after all, Kireina before reincarnating into Genesis fragmented many of her body into the pure miasma, which traveled through the entire universe and brought the demise and the apocalypse to many worlds.
It was natural for him to wonder why someone "good" would help such an inherently "evil" being…
But The One wasn't really a good nor an evil entity.
He was merely selfish and did whatever he pleased.

Glitched! Uplift Arc
[Winner of the April 22 Royal Road Writathon Challenge] In 2202 the System reached Earth. Thankfully it had learnt from previous uplifts and implemented an introductory arc to acclimatise the new participants rather than chucking them in the deep end. The previous practice of just dumping unsuspecting beings into a System designed for the growth of the multiverse had led to catastrophic and sub-optimal results. The return on investment was abysmal. That old trope was so over-cooked - after nearly extinguishing itself through negative returns new policy was required. That was 356 trillion local years back. Now over 5600 successful uplifts had joined the ranks of the multiverse. But the System was always learning, always growing. Still there were glitches. Mostly minor. Mere irritants really. Sometimes even they were catalysts, triggering a fresh expansion. Soon the System would understand why. Our Earth was 7912th. - Ascend - Battle - Challenge - Dominate - Expand - Gro... - Glor... - Where’s the eff word? - Glitch... File corrupted. ---END SYN---

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.
