While I prepared the spatial barrier to protect the immense Yggdrasil Sprout, I began my plan to eat and take over Zeus' children.

Athena had sharp senses and was quite intelligent, but in the end, I ate her as well, thanks to the two being rather incestuous sisters, they delved into passionate sex, and I took this opportunity to parasitize Artemis as she gave her sister some love.

After that, I slowly took over her without her even noticing due to my soul parasite ability to fuse with the one they're parasitizing.

At the same time, I guess I ended having sex with Athena? Well, not really, it was a clone, not me anyways.

After that I waited for her to fall asleep and completely devoured Artemis's soul, taking over her body as a puppet.

And then, I caught Athena and devoured her soul too, filling her physical body with a soul clone.

And that's it, simple as that.

Yeah, did you think I was going to… I don't know, have an epic fight?

Tsk, these guys are way out of my league now, so I am just going to eat them up.

After I take over the Zeus Family, I am going to order all the other Gods they're controlling to move to the desired location and ambush them there, to devour them, of course.

If I eat them all or the majority, I think I might be able to get into the Great God Realm…

But for that, I will also need to fight 7 Heavenly Tribulations… Yeah.

That's why I have to do this slowly, or I will be overwhelmed by these things.

Well, well, you died in the most anti-climatic way possible, Athena, I guess you were never truly a threat but a device for me to grow stronger, thanks for your efforts, they helped me greatly.

Ah well, her mind has been materialized into the Heaven Layer, and she's with Artemis, Apollo, Hephaestus, and all of those idiots.

Not Zeus though, I didn't give him a second chance after I learned what his memories were and what the sick bastard was planning to do, I just completely ended his existence, and there was not cool boss fight for him either, he died miserably, just as he deserved it.

Though by eating this guy I learned a lot of enigmas and interesting things that no other God knew about, such as some of the identities of the Gods that helped him defeat the Great God Titans… such as the God of Sealing and more.

Hmm, a Sealing Divinity wouldn't be bad at all!

At this point, I am just cherry-picking meals left and right.

Heh, how things have changed! Remember when I was struggling against damaged Demigods?

Now look at me, I am playing around with Gods and eating them without them even realizing it.

Who needs to fight anyways? If I can take them down without even fighting, that's even better.

I have no interest in fighting and breaking my limits in battle… Sorry but this is not Dragon Ball.

With these bonus stats, I can more or less get to around Rank 6…

But I am holding back all the power for now and stopping the ranking up for the moment.

Why? Because I am Rank 2, and that would trigger 4 Heavenly Tribulations at once! That would be hellish.

No, it is not that I fear them, but fear that they might be way too strong and could target my precious tree and all the other areas, four of them at once could easily decimate the tree into pieces, and I don't want that to happen, not at all!

That's why I prepare and stop the Ranks from advancing… Although I want to fight each Tribulation one by one, and I will probably evolve as well gradually.

Or I could go all the way to 6 and just acquire an evolution that encompasses all these together?

Hm…

It would be certainly easier and quicker to just do that.

But the thing is, if I do that, I will have to fight fur of these tribulations at the same time…

Yeah, better not.

Tribulations are quite the foes because they lack souls, origins, or anything of the sort, so you can't easily one-shot kill them by eating or shattering their souls like I usually do with gods weaker than me (or that I have weakened through shameless tactics).

As I think, I see that hundreds of barriers of space are finally formed over the entire tree.

Yep, I settled up hundreds, which cost around 3 million Divine Energy.

Good thing I am getting it back by eating these Gods…

Why hundreds? To be even more cautious! My motto is, "You're never cautious enough"!

"Masta, things are ready now, guu!" said Rimuru, flying to my side and hugging me.

I caress her azure hair as I kiss her.

"Thanks, my dear. Let's not waste any more time, go with everyone else to protect the large areas that we don't want to get damaged. I will slowly rank up and deal with the Heavenly Calamities as they come." I said.

"Alright! Though… you don't really want our help?" she asked.

"It would be nice if you could keep an eye on the cities and stuff, even with barriers, things might emerge or happen unexpectedly. I can deal with these things on my own, but thanks for worrying." I said, kissing her again.

"Very well, I understand guu, just don't be too reckless!" said Rimuru, kissing my cheek as she flew away to command everyone else.

I saw as everyone flew to their designed places they would guard, and then I flew towards an empty landscape with just a flat piece of earth.

I began to let the power I gained leak into my very being as I started to Rank up.

[A Heavenly Calamity will be summoned!]

As those words dropped from the system's notifications, a distortion in space happened, generating a gigantic black hole!

BOOM!

And then, enormous black lightning came out of it, shaping itself as a gargantuan serpentine entity!

"GRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!"

It was an enormous, over 50 meters big Asian-like serpentine dragon made entirely out of black lightning, roaring monstrously as it released thunderbolts everywhere!

This was the Black Lightning Dragon Thunderbolt Heavenly Calamity!

Alright then, time to get real!

The dragon made of black lightning suddenly unleashed a tremendous blast of black lightning towards me, and then flies away! He's rushing in the direction of the Yggdrasil Sprout!

I knew it! The World's Will wants to stop my growth, you damn bastard.

"[True Abyssal Form: Nyarlathotep]!"

I quickly activate my Path Jewel, as my body explodes into an enormous, monstrous humanoid creature made entirely out of red flesh and covered in jaws and eyes!

As the ability says, my resistance to all elements increases exponentially, and also my soul and body regeneration speed are boosted by 500%, although it also drains my Divine Energy constantly, this is the best form to fight deadly Heavenly Calamities!

I then use Instant Teleportation and emerge right in front of the Heavenly Calamity ad raise my mass of flesh over it, which I quickly shape into large jaws through the Monarch of Gluttony's Path Jewel Ability, Monstrous Abyssal Maws of Endless Devouring, which I couple with a domain of devouring, another ability, named Gluttonous Divinity Feasting.

The combination of both abilities forms a space around my entire being that simply consumes anything that is deemed as a foe by me, even if they are soulless entities such as Heavenly Calamities!

CRUCH!

"GRYYUUOOOOO…!"

The Heavenly Calamity roars as if it were a real dragon, and it begins to electrify my entire body while I devour it.

I begin to entangle my entire body, but I use my Monarch of Gluttony ability to devour its very existence slowly.

However, as it is a strong Heavenly Calamity, it is resisting my devour rather well.

Nonetheless, I keep eating it away as I gain more power and use such power against it.

I grasp it with the World-Breaking Disrupting Chaotic Claws and begin to disintegrate parts of its attribute through the chaos within my monstrous claw claws.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

With three slashes, the dragon groans in desperation, a large chunk of its black lightning mass is gone in seconds.

It keeps trying to fry my flesh alive, but I keep devouring any flesh that was burn and regenerate new one constantly through the Endless Self-Renewal Ability, and then generate a second claw, the Space-Severing Void Claws!

Space and Void Attributes begin to materialize in my very flesh, shapeshifting into an enormous spatial claw that tears down space itself and also the Heavenly Calamity, slashing through its lightning body like nothing!

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

As I do this, I keep consuming it and entangling it, while activating Heavenly Law Decree to form a Law Domain, inhibiting the beast from moving away through forcing the laws in my surroundings to suppress it!

And endless and invisible pressure is constantly showering the Heavenly Calamity, while I use my Chaotic and Space-Severing Claws to tear it down into chunks of divine thunder to devour and gain Thunder Attribute Particles.

"GGRROOOAARRR…!"

It keeps struggling, but it is almost dead already!

To not waste more Divine Energy unnecessarily, I summon my Spears, Khaos, and Ginnungagap!

CRASH! CRASH!

With both of them, I impale the entire black thunder and begin to tear it down into particles, the spears might know no bounds, as their chaotic and void powers pierce and damage anything!

This coupled with all the other abilities I was using was enough to decimate it once and for all!

"GRROOOAARR…!"

The Heavenly Calamity doesn't go without leaving a gift, as it decides to detonate itself and explode!

However, I extend my almost endless flesh all around it beforehand, and it explodes right inside of my flesh mantle!

BOOM!

My flesh manages to consume the explosion, and I slowly begin to shapeshift back into my usual form.

And done.

Whew, that was quite intense.

Thankfully, Heavenly Calamities are not really smart, nor they can use special powers or techniques, they use their very bodies to attack.

And I have certainly gotten stronger than before, or maybe this Heavenly Calamity was not as strong because I don't feel as tired.

It is probably because it was a Thunder and Dark Element one and not a Chaos and Law Heavenly Calamity, those are a bit harder to deal with.
