Epic Of Caterpillar Chapter 465

Xedia was one the least known princesses of Moonfang, this was notorious due to her calm personality, she was also quite asocial and only liked to be in the wild whenever it was possible, hunting monsters and slowly sharpening her skills.
Princess Xedia was the daughter of the Lion Beast King Lionel and her mother, who used to be a renowned Hunter in Moonfang, she was recognized by the Kingdom as an outstanding huntress and Lionel took her as one of his newest concubines.
When she gave birth to Xedia, she did not know how to properly take care of her, leaving her most of the time on her own, or by the caring of servants.
Xedia was then raised by several maids, guards, and butlers, and all of them seemed to have taught her several things throughout her life.
As she developed and grew stronger, awakening the bloodline of her father, Xedia's mother finally took an interest in her and began to teach her hunting techniques, even carrying her to the wild to interact with nature and hunt monsters or wild animals.
Though she was not the best of mothers, she taught her daughter very well before dying on a fateful day due to old age. Xedia then got to know that her mother was actually quite old, but because she always looked young and dazzling, she never could figure it out.
It seems that giving birth to her puts a big weight over her body, and after a few years, she gives in and collapsed, dying out of a combination of excessive fatigue and old age.
Xedia lamented the death of her mother a bit, but after being comforted by the servants that raised her, she became a bit more confident, deciding to develop the abilities and techniques inherited from her mother and father, and become a recognized princess.
Aside from those servants, she grew very asocial and had a hard time interacting with her siblings, choosing to escape reality by going into nature, hunting, and living outside.
She learned many techniques of wild survival from her mother, and as she developed them, she became someone deeply connected with nature.
One day, as she hunted, she awakened her Fire Attribute Magic and Hunting Technique into a unique skill that combined both mastery over hunting with bows and daggers and fire magic.
Since then, she decided to improve even further, exploring dungeons, hunting inside of them, and even learning how to survive in such eerie and dangerous places.
As she explored the dungeons that surrounded Moonfang, tales of her adventures were told amongst the small villages near such dungeons. About a beautiful Lioness Huntress Girl with the ability to shot fire arrows and possessing amazing knowledge about nature and hunting.
Although in the main capital and its surrounding cities she wasn't known as much, she was appreciated by the townsfolk and as she grew closer to these simple and humble people, she helped them in their daily lives, often taking on a dangerous quest of monsters exterminations.
She would then exterminate such monsters and then bring their corpses with the villages, sharing the meat with all of them, and teaching them several survivability techniques and other things, such as the preservation of meat by drying it, detecting herbs and mushrooms, or even giving small classes about species of trees and the fruits they could produce.

She taught the villages techniques to cook poisonous monsters, and to even make the meat of goblins delicious.
Without her realizing, Xedia ended up creating a double personality outside of her own Kingdom, as a wandering 'Saint Huntress', the villagers and other people that told her tales never knew that she was a princess of the Kingdom.
She liked to experience a simple life and would rarely come back to the castle.
Until a fateful day, when Lionel realized that she existed, and called her out to marry her with the son of an aristocrat.
Xedia refused, saying that she had her own life, but Lionel would never accept a 'no' as an answer, even after defeating her multiple times through battles to show her that he was stronger and she needed to obey him, she never gave up to her life and her dreams, she really didn't want to marry someone who she didn't even know about.
Lionel could not damage her severely, as she was still his daughter and he needed to use her to marry her with the aristocrat's son to close a negotiation.
In the end, he found a perfect way to close all the ties she had with others, the places where she always ran away from her father, the multiple villages of humble and simple people.
Lionel sent a dozen mercenary groups towards those villages, which ended up destroying them, some were burned entirely, and their people massacred, while others had their people enslaved and sold as cheap prostitutes or servants…
Lionel laughed on her face as he blamed her for this, saying that it was her stubbornness that condemned these people to such tragic fate.
Xedia felt rage and resentment for the first time... However, there was also the despair of losing those close to her, those humble families that always welcomed her in their small homes, that feed her and prepared her many delicious dishes, the young kids that she taught how to hunt horned rabbits, the elderly that she taught how to prepare dishes with meat that was often said to be too disgusting to consume, and those people she protected from monsters so much.
Since then, Xedia became completely broken, her mind was not the same as before, and there was only the endless feeling of despair and of how powerless she was against the incarnation of evil that was her father.
She married that son of an aristocrat and then the negotiation with him and her father finally closed… all his father wanted was to do some negotiations, and he went to the point of killing or enslaving multiple innocents.
One day, Xedia confronted her father and asked him what that negotiation was all about, exploring all of the hidden emotions that she had saved deep within her.
Lionel showed her his large and muscular wrist, where several golden bracelets decorated with magic stones were.
"This is what I wanted, all of these bracelets can enhance my magic capabilities, and are capable of storing Mana. They also fit with my golden fur; don't you think? Gahahaha!"

"Y-You… killed all those people just for that?! You enslaved so many innocents… just for a pair of bracelets?!"
"People? What are you talking about? The weakling is not people, they were not even disposable pawns, perhaps lesser than ants. I cannot believe how attached you became to them, you are truly a failure, aren't you? Get out of my sight,"
Xedia could not believe her father's words… he was truly an incarnation of all the bad things that humanity had, a monster amongst monsters, a despicable fiend.
"You monster! YOU MONSTER!!! I WILL KILL YOU! I WILL KILL YOUUU!!!"
Xedia, in her rage, confronted her father once again, using all of her abilities into him, but Lionel was a being completely in a different level of strength, she was but a mere fly compared to him, her powerful fire arrows and daggers dissipated by hitting his golden aura, and his punches broke her limbs into dust. Xedia suffered tremendous pain and was punished for her insolence against the King.
"You're lucky to be my daughter, Xedia! If you were not, I would have already torn you apart into pieces! Now you shall be condemned to live the rest of your life in a bed, like the useless fly you are! I hope that you can one day understand your father's words" said Lionel, leaving the throne room.
"I hate… you…! I hate… you…!" muttered Xedia.
Lionel only destroyed her limbs, so she could not move anymore in her life, and decided to leave her bed driven inside the castle.
She went through day and night filled with so much resentment and hate, it was as if the space surrounding her distorted by this undying hate to the point that it intimidated any servant that tried to serve her, even those that she grew with would only visit her once a day, and she would never say a word, barely eating anything with lifeless eyes.
"I hate him… I hate him! Why? Why?! Why must life be like this?!"
These were the thoughts she always had inside of her mind… until one day, in the middle of the night, she was awakened from her endless nightmare by an entity that seemed darker than her father itself. A malicious being created from hate itself, and that feed from it over anything else.
"Your nightmares are the most delicious, and your hate is delectable. Xedia, I can give you a new and stronger body, but it depends on you if you can one day exert revenge!" said the entity, Geggoron, as one of his split minds forcefully possessed the hateful princess, which was seen by his eyes to have outstanding potential.
However, what Geggoron promised to Xedia before taking over her never came to fruition, her father became one of Geggoron's pawns as well, and she had to work together with him with the sole purpose of serving Geggoron's desires.
But deep inside of Xedia's heart, the hate and resentment was still there, she waited for an opportunity, and used Geggoron's powers to grow strong through different ways, her body wasn't the same as before… she only needed to develop such powers, and slowly surpass her father.
Although those possessed by Geggoron's split souls cannot learn special skills such as 'Divinity Devouring' or 'Dungeon Snatch' as they are not considered to have 'mortal bodies' anymore, they can develop their godly powers and the Divinity given to them and mixed with their original skills. This is how these beings can develop, although they can be easily suppressed by Geggoron's split soul itself, so it's hard for them to gain any independence.
As Xedia slowly developed her powers and tried to suppress Geggoron's split soul with her incredible resentment and emotions to one day fulfill her revenge, Kireina appeared and everything went downhill from that point.
She was then separated from her family and her father, which she always was watching over, and was enclosed inside a different space with two of Kireina's wives.
One seemed to be an extravagant Dragonoid empress, with chocolate skin, and covered in emerald scales and colorful feathers, wielding a long lance, her silver hair flew through the strange wind magic that she created to fly.
And the other was a beautiful and seemingly delicate-looking Squirrel Beastmen woman… though she had never seen such a beastmen like this one, with nine large and fluffy tails, her fur was silvery-white, and she wore a red kimono, her eyes were scarlet red. She was being surrounded by small blueish flames.
"I cannot lose to the likes of you… I must fulfill my revenge! I cannot merely waste my time and see everything I've been patiently waiting for being destroyed in front of me!" she thought, as she summoned her Nightmarish Blaze Aura, and raised her Phantasmal Rank 'Demon Huntress Bow'.
From behind her body, countless arrows made out of dark, nightmarish flames appeared, as they moved towards her hands, she raised her bow and pointed it to her targets.
"Hm, she seems rather strong… It could be a nice exercise, right, Kaguya?" asked Altani.
"Exercise…? You might be right, I wonder if she can take one of our attacks?" wondered Kaguya, with a playful smile.
"Well, let's try it then…" said Altani.
"You're right, no time to babble about nonsense, a fight does not have time for that, fufu" laughed Kaguya.
Flash! Flash!
Suddenly, before Xedia's sight, a gigantic sphere of blazing blue fire and magma appeared, flying towards her like a meteor. And from the other side, Altani was flying with her golden winds, controlling her golden aura, and shaping it as dozens of giant and sharp feathers.
"Not bad," said Xedia, firing two Blazing Arrows at each side.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author.
