The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 471

Then after a bit more discussion, everyone now understood why he split the entire group and why he took the strongest amongst all of them along on this new journey…
Apparently, whatever they achieve at the inheritance ground would determine if the war they had fought earlier was worth it or a simple waste of time, as Min Hong looked to the Pirate Leader and ordered;
"Take us there!"
The Pirate Leader nodded with a slight bow before steering the ship about 13 degrees towards the East as their flying ship bolted into the distance…
"Why are we heading to this inheritance ground?"
Gong Yi asked and everyone else also looked on with rapt attention;
"Apparently, Bai Shaoxing had been possessed long before we came here by an expert from the Bai Super Clan, and they were planning on using her to rally all the 20,000 experts within the Land Of Stones to their side, the top ten experts included…"
"All of that was because of that inheritance ground, and whilst I don't know why they needed all 20,000 of them, because I doubt if there is any major power which would allow 20,000 experts from another power enter it…"
"But, from what I gather, I am sure those guys really need something from that inheritance ground which would help them in their bid to usurp the powers within the Dogon Empire…" Min Hong explained;
"And though, the Inheritance ground is not due to open until the last month of the year, but it is better we get there now and find out as much as we can about the inheritance ground from the surrounding villages, so that we would be much more prepared when it is time to head over…" Min Hong added;
"If the Bai Clan is involved in this, would that mean Bai Yi is a mole or a spy?" Gong Yi suggested;
"I am not sure, and that was why I have my spies watching him also…" Min Hong replied with a smirk;
"They are not planning to take 20,000 people to the inheritance ground… they only plan on taking ten each…" Bai Shaoxing revealed as she strutted over from the training area;
"Can we trust her?" Xiao Gui asked instantly;
"I don't know, but it would be in her best interest not to betray us…" Min Hong replied without even sparing Bai Shaoxing a glance;
"So, why do they need 20,000 if they are only taking ten, and what does the each behind the statement mean?" It was Yu Ming who asked this time around;

"They are going to transfer the Qi from all these experts and implant it into 10 of their most talented younger generation members of each clan…" Bai Shaoxing explained;
"Not only that, they were also planning to strip the Nascent Souls and Saint Souls of from all of us, and give the Nascent Souls to their younger generation members to obtain multiple extra Daos, whilst the Elders behind all of it would take the Saint Souls and merge it with theirs to not only increase their strength, but also possess Daos they don't have before…" She continued;
"Finally, the reason why I said each is because they are also doing the same thing in three two other regions like the Land of Stones…"
"Then should they succeed in getting what you said they needed from these inheritance ground, only 30 of these talented descendants and the elders of their clans alone would be able to take down your empire; because their powers would be akin to having over 30 Nirvana Stage experts with about seven Daos each…"
"Though, I have never been to the Dogon Empire before, but I am very sure they don't even possess half of such a lineup…" She finished;
"How do you know all of these?" Ki Ting pushed;
"I am tired of all of you questioning me like I am some criminal or traitor…" "Just answer the question…" Min Hong ordered;
"Tch… Fine… Though I was being possessed, I was still conscious, but simply suppressed, and as a result I was able to glean some information from their conversations…"
"Good… Now we understand just how much trouble we are in, because not only have we stripped them of their 20,000 experts, but now we are also planning to prevent them from obtaining their inheritance which means they will know we are coming…" Min Hong continued;
"These are very powerful experts and Super Clans who actually have the audacity to think of starting a revolt, thus, they must be extremely confident they can do it…"
"This means, if all we have known is their Plan A, then they will also have a Plan B…"
"Then why are we then doing this, if it wouldn't matter in the end anyway?"
Gu Ming asked and whilst everyone was still not comfortable in sitting around people who were their enemies less than 3 hours ago, Gong Yi who had seen Min Hong do the same thing to about a dozen Peak Nascent Soul experts before was relatively calm;
"It does matter; after all, an enemy with two plans is stronger than an enemy with one…" Min Hong replied and everyone nodded their head before releasing a sigh…

"But if they are doing something like this, the Imperial should know about it, shouldn't they?"
Yu Ming asked, and everyone nodded at the fact that her question was actually quite logical;
"Yeah, and I believe these clans also understands that, so what do you think you would do if you were in their position?"
Min Hong knew the answer but purposely threw the question back at her to test her level of intelligence;
"It's simple… I would create a diversion…" She answered;
"Good, and what kind of diversion would be strong enough to take away the Imperials attention from something as huge as this?" Min Hong threw the question to the rest;
"The only thing big enough to capture their attention completely would be the possibilities of an invasion…" The Princess chipped in and everyone nodded;
"Correct, and right now, the Empire is at odds with both the Jun Empire and the East Wind Empire, so you can now understand why something like this would sneak past their defenses…"
Min Hong was more like teaching them rather than having a discussion despite being the youngest on the ship…
"Bring a huge distraction from outside and then subtly stab them in the back when they aren't looking; that is the first thing they tech in how to become a bandit…" Elder Fu added…
"This is not a joking matter, and we are already in way over our heads…"
"These are powerful experts, and if we already know this much, it wouldn't take long for them to figure it out, and should they decide to take more time to formulate another plan we know nothing about, it would be disastrous…"
"Or better still, use our knowledge against us…" Elder Fu contributed once again;
"True, which is why we have to treat our next moves from now henceforth as if they have found out about us knowing about their plans…" Min Hong instructed…
"So, what kind of information are we planning to gather in the village?" Yu Ming asked;
"General information like; the type of treasures that might probably appear within the grounds, which other powers might be coming over, and finally, the format with which it is carried out..."
"This would be my first time entering an inheritance ground and I have no prior knowledge about how things are done…" Min Hong revealed;
"Neither have I..."
"Same with me…"
"Me too…"
Everyone admitted that they have never been within any prior inheritance ground and thus understood why Min Hong told them to head over now rather than later;
Firstly, information would be easier to collect because everyone wouldn't find any problems giving it out, after all, there is still seven months to its opening…
Secondly; that gives them enough time to prepare in the pattern of the information they gather, and their next destination after the inheritance ground would be a perfect opportunity to do that...
Then finally; they would be able to plan how they would deal with these great powers when they send in their own representatives to the inheritance grounds…
"So, that was why you split the group… The inheritance grounds is obviously a very different scenario compared to the Imperial Seeding Tournament…" The Princess added;
"Exactly… Furthermore, I don't believe the Desert Sun Sect would be able to take all ten spots during the tournament, so I picked the seven of us with the strongest possibilities of doing so, and should we even fall short, at least we should be able to take three of those spots…" Min Hong added;
"That's true, we cannot underestimate the disciples of the other sects too, especially the Imperial Academy…" Tong Tian added from the side;
"Alright, now that we all understand the level of deep shit we are in, and how important what we are doing is, as well as the rewards we are going to obtain, we can all begin our preparations now…"
"We are short on time already by heading towards the inheritance grounds, and that means we would have to rush through the rest of our missions, so that we can return in time for the tournament and also return for the inheritance ground…"
"So, everyone should go begin their preparations…" Min Hong dismissed them all;
"Alright, Fei Hong and the Princess would be sharing the main cabin; the next room to his left would be occupied by Ki Ting…"
"The one opposite Ki Ting would be occupied by Yu Ming…"
"The next one after Ki Ting's would be mine, and the one opposite mine would be occupied by Tong Tian…"
"The one beside me would be occupied by the Pirate Leader, and opposite the Pirate Leader would be Bai Shaoxing…"
"Then the last room and the one opposite it would be occupied by Elder Fu and Gu Ming respectively…" Gong Yi distributed everyone's apartment to them as they all left the area…

She will have no choice but to resort to her wits, make unexpected allies, and navigate her way through unforgiving lands in order to survive. Will she be up to the task? Greetings, reader! First of all, thank you for taking an interest and read my story. This is a story I've been working through all my life. But since I'm a first-time writer, I wanted to start with something small. This is just a small part of something much greater that hopefully one day I'll be able to translate into words as well. I will try to make it interesting as possible but please bear with me. Please understand that English is not my native language, I worked really hard to write in English the best I could. So please if you find any typos and grammar errors let me know. I'll try to upload new chapters as soon as I can. Although I had originally planned to deliver a chapter a MONTH, I think the real estimate would be a chapter EVERY 3 MONTHS since I also have to earn the daily bread. Cover picture made by me. The background picture is from Google but I modified it enough from the original. The story is also available on Wattpad, Inkitt, Scribblehub, and Webnovel.
