The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 388

Perhaps, he would have to possess a Nirvana/Samsara level battle power before he would be able to read the first page, but sadly, every good thing must always have a bad side to it; the pages in the book were incomplete, and he would have to search for the rest of the pages…
But as the illicit lover of Lady Luck herself, Min Hong was able to find out that the location of the next page is always described in the previous page!
Min Hong quickly stored the book in his special storage ring; the one linked to Daisy's storage, before picking up the amulet;
'Oh, no wonder I am yet to breakthrough to the nascent soul…'
'This is the stone within which the Nihility Essence Flame is contained…'
Min Hong could sense a deep calling urge from within the ordinary amulet…
The call seemed to be tugging at his flame nascent soul, like as if it was dying to join its compatriot, or perhaps fee on them to reach another realm higher than itself…
"Master, are you okay?"
The multicolored pillar of light shot into Min Hong as Little Ming reached Min Hong's location keeping itself secret;
"Um… Yeah, I'm fine…" "You seem to have benefitted from being too close to the source of the heat…"
Min Hong remarked as he could vividly sense the aura of the nihility essence flame around Little Ming;
"Ugh… That is one experience I would never want to have ever again…"
Little Ming blanched when she narrated how miserable the heat had made her when she thought of using it to cultivate, and though she had successfully used it to not only purify her body, it had also purified her bloodline to a certain extent, and that in turn had affected many things concerning her, causing an overall improvement and rise in her battle prowess…
"Alright, since you have seen so much improvement, I would try to cultivate now, and I plan on taking the rest to Elder Yun to form her second nascent soul…"
"If there is any left for you to use, then she will pass it on to you…"
Min Hong spoke as he rubbed her beneath the chin…
"Alright, help me stand guard whilst I form my nascent soul…"
Little Ming returned to the surface and simply lied at the entrance exactly, blocking the point of entry…
Min Hong on the other hand, entered into the sarcophagus; he kept having the feeling that being inside the sarcophagus would help him achieve better result…

So, he laid within and covered himself up, as he wore the amulet around his neck, letting it rest on the center of his chest…
Min Hong then shut his eyes as he sent his consciousness into his body and connected to the [Wonder Gate Codex]…
Min Hong consciousness hovered over his Dantian where he could see a fetus growing inside, then he reached for his flame nascent soul, and the moment the flame nascent soul appeared in front of him, the amulet on his neck began to release searing waves after scorching waves into Min Hong that would have killed him, if not for the fact that the aura he had absorbed earlier had built some sort of tolerance level within Min Hong…
Furthermore, the presence of his flame nascent soul [which consisted of the Empyrean Flames and the Devil Soul flames], it made the process seem like a support dog being introduced to a disabled dog…
It was neither a violent nor friendly form of absorption, and as a result Min Hong's suffering though was intense, but still nothing close to what would have happened if he absorbed it ordinarily; Certain Death!
The moment the Nihility Essence Flame was being absorbed by the flame nascent soul, the nascent soul itself began to melt into a puddle of three different flames, and then it began to expand as more essence flame was absorbed…
It became a stream, then a river, then a lake, then a sea, and eventually an ocean of flames…
Then as if sensing the presence of a newbie, the Primus Dao energy swarmed over trying to merge the three flames into one, but just as it got close to it, the Nihility Essence Flame evaporated the Primus energy, stunning Min Hong silly…
Min Hong tried it once again, but it was the same; utter obliteration of the primus energy…
Now there was trouble; if Min Hong doesn't merge these flame together soon enough, just like Daos, the will begin to resist and repel each other, and if the three strongest flames in existence suddenly revolted within Min Hong and go berserk, Min Hong would die without the shadow of a doubt, not to talk of if they exploded, then he would perhaps drag the entire Desert Sun Sect along with him to the Netherworld…
After repeated trials and failure, Min Hong's mind suddenly strayed to the small pillar of multicolored light within himself…
He thought maybe if he used it, it would work since it was from the great creator himself, but he wasn't sure if he could control it, but he tried anyways; and as luck would have it, he was indeed able to manipulate the energy…

But instead of using it directly, Min Hong had a better idea; whatever this multicolored pillar of light was, it was from the great creator which meant one thing;
It was very powerful, and who in their right mind would want to waste all of that in ensuring that some flames got together and merge?
Thus Min Hong split it into five different beams;
'How I wish I had comprehended the 'Book of Unity', that way I wouldn't have needed to split this energy into five different portions…'
Min Hong thought to himself with a sigh as he sent each of these five portions of multicolored energy towards his Body, Heart, Soul and Mind to nourish it, and perhaps purify it better…
Min Hong then sent the last one towards his Primus Dao Tree, which absorbed the energy fairly easily and began to transform…
The tree grew more mysterious, its aura felt more ancient, and the vibe it gave was one which was unprecedented…
The Primus Dao Tree spread these energies equally amongst all of the Dao Branches, before Min Hong then sent the new Primus Dao energy towards the three different flames, but this time, he was gentle, patient and took it as slow and careful as possible…
The new Primus Dao energy approached the ocean of flames, and as the energy gradually approached, Min Hong didn't feel any form of aggression from the flames until the energy eventually entered their midst…
The moment this new primus energy entered these flames, a whirlpool spun to life right at its center, and began to increase in momentum and intensity, and just like a blending machine, it began to mix up these flames, as they began to lose their color…
The mixing went on for about two days before it finally ended, and at that time, all the flames were gone, but Min Hong could still sense its presence, the new flame was just invisible, but even more powerful…
Next step is comprehending the Essence Level flame, as Min Hong sent his consciousness into the flame, and then; Swish! He was instantly teleported into another realm…
Within this realm was a highly elevated altar which was about 100 meters tall…
The moment Min Hong saw the altar, he instantly understood that whatever it was he was supposed to achieve here would definitely be atop the altar, but the only challenge was that, the only path leading towards that altar were laden with ten different fiercely burning flames on steps that were about ten meters high and long each…
On either sides of these paths were endless abyss of total darkness that gave one a spine tingling sensation of absolute death…
Min Hong was here in his birthday suit and was to walk through these ten endless flames…
The one closest to him was the common yellow flames anyone uses to cook, the only difference being the fact that it was fiercely burning with whooshing sounds…
Min Hong tried to control any of his Daos but realized that he had no control over it; it was like they didn't even exist, not even the Oblivion Dao was anywhere in sight…
'Essence Level Daos are surely overpowered…'
Min Hong then took his first step, and the moment he did, a voice reverberated within the dimension;
"Rebirth Trials; Body Forging!"
The moment that voice ended, Min Hong understood there and then that this was going to be an extremely agonizing trial to pass, but he had no choice but to do it, because otherwise, the flames would rupture within him and explode, and that would spell the end of everything within a 10 mile radius…
Min Hong entered the yellow flames and instantly began to feel immense burning sensation, and at that moment, he realized that his cultivation had been sealed off…
Min Hong ran through the ten meter long yellow flame track, and by the time he got to the next level, every strand of hair, bar the one on his head were already scorched off, and Min Hong's body were already beet red, with several burnt marks on his body…
He plunged into the second level which was red, and instantly, his skin began to scorch; burning like a thin nylon placed over a burning candle…
"Gaaahhhh!"
Min Hong screamed in agony as he took his third step…
The first step had the flesh at the sole of his feet stuck to the floor, and when he raised that leg to take another step, the skin peeled, as Min Hong's exposed feet touched the scorching grounds of the second step…
But oblivious to him, the muscles beneath the sole of his feet though were hurting like hell, but weren't scorched as they seemed to have been cooked by the red flames…

Queer Tales From A Street Nominally Associated With Your Reality
The street is not from your world, and yet it's attached, clinging like a shadowy limpet to the edge of your London, your city skyline stabbing into it from above. Or well that's what we tell ourselves, no one who lives here really knows. We are after all just regular folk displaced from our original realities. Just a bunch of folks with queer tales from a street nominally associated with your reality. What to expect: - A series of interlinked short stories gradually unpacking the lives, complications and mysteries associated with those who live in the street - A weird pseudo-British setting where physics works inconsistently, and houses move position regularly - Stories filled with LGBTQ+ characters, and in particular ones on the trans/nonbinary spectrum - Potentially iffy grammar, I'm new to publishing my work online, so whilst I am checking things before posting it’s a near certainty that some things will slip through - A schedule of one chapter every two weeks.
