The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 207

"Don't!" the lady yelled but was too late as the death dragon gave a cunning and sneering smirk before rising from its laying position…
"Oh no… you have stepped into the barrier… I'm sorry kid, I should have told you that first, but I was so blinded by my desire to leave that I left out the most important information…"
"Only those who step within a mile radius of this cube will be attacked by this guardian death dragon…" Shen Bing spoke in a helpless and resigned tone as she sigh bitterly at Min Hong…
The death dragon spread its massive wings wide and it was only now that Min Hong realized how big the death dragon was…
Each of its wings alone were big enough to house at least sixty people without being cramped…
With a simple flap of its wings, it had already reached Min Hong's position as it swiped its massive clawed at Min Hong sending four streak of sharp Death Qi hurtling towards Min Hong who actually approached the incoming blades of death Qi...
Then when the attack was about a foot away from him, he twisted Mid-air as he slipped through the gaps in the attacks, but not before wrapping Chaos and Metal Qi all over his body…
The four slashes of Death Qi swept past him and landed on the ground as a ~Chichi~ sound echoed through the dimension, before Min Hong saw four ten foot deep gashes on the ground where the attack just landed…
Without allowing him to catch his breath, the death dragon seeing that Min Hong had easily evaded its attack changed its manner of approach as it closed its claws together before sending another claw slash of Death Qi towards Min Hong;
"Wow! It is just as intelligent as a wise old man…"

Min Hong exclaimed when he saw the death dragon adjust its manner of attack in the blink of an eye…
Knowing that his earlier evasive maneuver wouldn't work, Min Hong actually had to blink thrice before he could narrowly escape the attack, but this time around, just by the skin of his teeth…
The death dragon which had been hovering since the duel began flapped its wings aggressively as a whirlwind of Death Qi which spanned about a hundred feet in height and fifty feet in diameter was sent spinning towards Min Hong…
"Hehe… since you like jumping around, let me see you avoid this one…"
The dragon spoke as it watched the massive whirlwind of Death Qi cover Min Hong from every possible angle…
Min Hong who saw the incoming and seemingly unavoidable attack actually chose to take it head on as he bolted into the whirlwind…
Oblivion and Chaos Qi burst out of Min Hong like rising tide as his robes fluttered like he was moving at 3 billion miles per second…
He formed his Planetary Annihilation technique before stabilizing it with his Primus Dao, as he simultaneously wrapped these Daos in protective layers all over his body…
Stretching his free hand and grabbing the empty air, his Metal Dao responded as a sword made entirely out of Qi materialized…
Then Min Hong jumped into the whirlwind under the ridiculing gaze of the death dragon who sneered as it spoke;
"I guess this would be another boring fight just like your predecessors…"
But the moment when Min Hong was about to make contact with the whirlwind, he activated his 'Dao Realm' [Chaotic Shadow Steps] as the whirlwind within a span of about five feet around him slowed to a crawl, due to the sheer speed of his movement...
Though, the whirlwind had slowed down which significantly reduced the tendency of him being ripped to shreds, the Death Qi within it was ever so potent and thus Min Hong had to activate the 'Shadow Part' of the technique as he nearly phased through the whirlwind…

The death dragon who was watching everything happen suddenly heard a very loud explosion as it sighed and muttered;
"Is he dead already? That was way boring than his predecessors, at least, they could still put up a little bit of fight…"
It said as it prepared to return to its rest…
But just as it was about to turn around, he saw a tiny streak bolt out of the whirlwind and approached at breakneck speed…
Snorting indifferently at Min Hong who was approaching it with what seemed to be a sword in hand, the death dragon responded with a claw strike, and just as they were about to collide, Min Hong then activated the 'Chaotic Part' of the technique as he blinked in a manner than almost left the death dragon disoriented…
Appearing abruptly at the joint where the death dragons flailing arm joined with its body, Min Hong sent a vicious sword strike towards it using the 'Dao Realm' level sword technique…
Schweein!
Boom!
Splat!
A loud colliding sound ensued as Min Hong appeared on the other side of the death dragon…
Surprisingly, when Min Hong landed, he wasn't alone…
A massive chunk of rotten flesh also landed along with him with a ~splat~ sound as several dripping sound accompanied it…
The strike which Min Hong powered with every ounce of strength he could muster at this point which was capable of beheading even an 8 Star Nascent Soul expert was only able to leave a gash on the death dragon's armpit after tearing a chunk of flesh from it...
But other than that and the pained grunt the death dragon gave, nothing else could be accountable to that swift attack…
But this little feat alone was enough to shock the death dragon and Shen Bing who both stared at Min Hong in absolute shock…
In all its years since it had begun to guard this person, the death dragon and even Shen Bing knew that it had never been skinned before, but now, such a thing actually happened…
Then to add salt to its currently bleeding injury, it came from a little kid which from what they could sense from his soul was no older than fourteen years of age…
What's more, this loss came as soon as their second move, which only meant Min Hong was currently leading when it came to damage dealt, because asides from the slight trouble Min Hong encountered when absorbing and storing the Death Qi he had absorbed from that whirlwind, nothing as little or insignificant as a drop of sweat could be found on Min Hong, whereas, he had already drew blood and shed a patch of skin from the death dragon…

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!
