The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 199

Thus, Min Hong who had dispatched two different vengeful souls in a moment of about ten to twenty seconds, didn't even bother to halt his steps as he marched on, into the depths of the 'valley of undead' with carefulness but a feeling of overconfidence that ended up costing him a bit in the next chapter where he met a certain specie of the undead that gave him the chilliest and creepiest…
Min Hong kept threading on the as he sought to find a place where he could meditate within this darkness that was so mysterious even his mental and soul sense could hardly scan further than about 30 feet radius from where he was…
After walking further for about another hundred meters, Min Hong saw a fleeting purple colored vengeful soul, but unlike the first two which approached Min Hong, Min Hong approached this one even when he clearly saw that it was a purple colored type…
But just because it was also in the 4 Star Nascent Soul stage, he became a little careless and as a result when this specific vengeful soul saw Min Hong, it bolted towards him in a flash as Min Hong who had thought he was going to be shown a vision of the souls past so as to negatively influence his mentality, braced for these illusions…
But y the time this purple colored vengeful soul smashed into Min Hong, he was abruptly sent flying for about at least fifty meters away as he scrambled up to his feet before looking at his chest which was now caved in…
But unlike the first two souls which Little Fei simply wiped out their consciousness with Min Hong's sheer soul and mental power before giving them to the demon soul within Min Hong to feed on, this one had a very unique sensation and properties to its attacks…

This was because one of the strongest suits of Min Hong's powers which he could boast about was his regeneration and recovery capabilities which could make him recover from the full powered attacks of a Peak Dan Formation stage expert in less than ten minutes…
But at this current moment, this regenerative abilities were crawling so much that Min Hong might as well not have any regenerative abilities…
"This is Death Qi!"
A light bulb switched on within Min Hong's head as he finally realized that he had just entered the fray of his first true and real test within this 'Valley of the Undead', as he backed up slightly and very carefully...
But no matter how much he did that, he found it nigh impossible to extricate himself from the hungry gaze of this soul which kept looking at him like he was some trapped prey it was about to snack on…
Then from the expression it was having, Min Hong who knew vengeful souls were supposed to have a pissed off expression on their face became slightly apprehensive of this vengeful ghost that was almost drooling just from looking at his extremely pure and golden soul body
Then the vengeful soul charged over once again, but this time Min Hong could sense a lot of the Death and Darkness Qi in the area react violently as the vengeful soul gathered them onto its fists before throwing a massive black and grey fist over to Min Hong…
"Hmph! Useless tricks…"
Min Hong who had been taken over by Little Fei snorted derisively at the attack as several whispers that sounded like hushed noise of fans on a football pitch rang out, followed by the several scripts and ancient characters that flashed within Min Hong's eyes…
Then a heavy soul pressure descended before a searing heat that was as hot as the first day the sun itself was created diffused into the surroundings pushing back the negative, dark and deathly aura and Qi that had been trying to seep unnoticed into Min Hong's soul…

Min Hong then executed the [Eight Vengeful Palms] technique with the soul energy he had gathered as the properties of the [Buddhist Chants of the Cherubs] techniques mixed with his soul energy before forming a massive fist of his own which was just as large as that of the vengeful soul…
Then these fists slammed into each other as the arrogant and extremely polar opposite energies within them violently repelled each other causing these fists which had previously melded with themselves to explode violently…
Boom!
The ensuing shockwave blasted them both as the vengeful soul retreated only about a feet whilst Min Hong on the other hand was sent flying another thirty feet away…
By the time he tried to stand, he found out that his right thigh had been hit and the death Qi that was trying to corrode his soul was actually succeeding…
It was at this point that Min Hong understood that he and the vengeful soul were never equal in strength to begin with…
Whilst he had a total combined battle power that was equal to that of the vengeful soul's, he was severely lacking when it came to their comprehension of the Dao…
This was the reason why he was barely recovering from the attacks of this vengeful soul as he heard Daniel's voice resound within his mind;
"If you are going to comprehend any of the Daos here, then you must allow their energies actually encroach into your soul, that way you will be able to focus on the little Dao energies within your soul and then study them…" He explained before adding;
"When you carefully scrutinize and study these energies and their behavioral properties, only then would you be able to gain the required enlightenment to comprehend the Daos…" He finished…
"I can sense at least three prominent Daos within this valley… There is Yin, Darkness and the Death Dao everywhere…"
Little Fei added as Min Hong finally stared at the vengeful soul that was scuttling over to him with another attack and muttered beneath his breath;
"And this one in particular had comprehended the Death Dao to at least, the Eight Plane Intent Level…"
He said before bolting towards the vengeful soul who felt provoked by Min Hong's unyielding attitude and decided to infuse more Death Qi and Dao into his attack…
Then when they were about only an inch away from each other, Min Hong let go of his body as he opened his defenses and then; Boom! He allowed the vengeful souls fist strike to land squarely on his chest, as his chests caved in deeper whilst the bones, flesh and muscles around the strike area began to decay and rot whilst Min Hong was sent tumbling another fifty feet away causing him to puke black and rotten smelling blood when he finally stabilized himself to a stop…

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

For mage teams, the battle camps of the Upper Realms provide both, with missions ranging from orc hunts to political espionage. This tale follows one such team of four who strive to prove themselves in a world that would rather overlook them. Loyalty, honour, and devotion are contrasted by avarice, treachery, and apathy, though at times it can be difficult to separate vice from virtue.
