The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 184

The sect leader paid the price and took the boy to a safe place before tracing after the mercenary, killing him and returning to the boy…
He took care of the boy till he was able to walk around painlessly before asking him about the reason why he had landed himself in such a tragic predicament…
Then after the boy narrated the heart breaking story of his miserable life, the sect leader blew up in a fit of rage…
He was someone who despises and never tolerates such disgusting attitude the Gong Clan leader has…
Thus, he went to the Gong Clan and ask them to publicly execute the Clan leader by beating him close to death and hanging him on a cross for the birds of prey to feed on…
Not even Gong Yi's bullies were spared, most of them were hospitalized for months at Gong Yi's mercies, whilst other who really hurt him had their cultivations crippled and banished from the clan…
In a single day, the Gong clan had a huge makeover by the time the sect leader and Gong Yi were done with them…
Those who were close and treated Gong Yi well were promoted to high ranked positions within the clans and those families who ridiculed and trampled over him were demoted to servants…
Then the sect leader left with beaming smiles as he left a single sentence behind; "Karma is such an elegant beach…"
Then after settling matters with Gong Yi's clansmen, he went to the slum where his thieving bosses were holed up in, and as fate would have it, the five of them were currently having a lecherous ball of frivolous activities with one of the ladies having two massive naked rods buried in both holes and the other one currently in a 69 position with the third guy who seemed to be their leader…

It was at the peak of this heated moment that the sect leader barged in and instantly killed them without spilling a single blood in the same position they were currently in…
Then he looked towards the ten year old Gong Yi just to check if he would buckle under the pressure of the sheer amount of killing and destruction they have caused in the span of a single day, but to the surprise of the sect leader, little Gong Yi only had a flat expression on his face, like as if he was already dead on the inside a very long time ago...
Shaking his head at the cruelty of life, he tried to check if he could cause this little kid to smile maybe he would at least have a shot at saving his lost soul, so he made another cheesy statement;
"Do you think this would be enough of an amusing sight to the jeepers of the netherworld and the god of death?"
He asked, but the kid didn't say anything, instead he walked over to the bed which the duo in the 69 position was on and dragged it close to the bonding trio till they were side by side before dusting his hands and then looking towards the sect leader, he finally revealed a mischievous grin which caused the sect leader to break out in an eccentric laugh as he finally found out the true nature of this little ten year old; He, Gong Yi, was a truly and genuinely mischievous brat…
Thus, since then, the set leader who had no child nor wife of his own decided to adopt this little orphan and decided to care for him like he was his own flesh and blood, but that was not before he asked Gong Yi to ask for three wishes and if it wasn't beyond him, he would fulfil it…

But to his greatest surprise, Gong Yi's first wish was that his thieving orphan mates be taken out of the slums, the second being that they were taken care of and given a normal life and the last being that the talented ones amongst them who wished to cultivate be giving explicit entry into a reasonable sect…
This only served to move the sect leader even more as he was moved nearly to tears…
He took Gong Yi away that day and brought him to the Desert Sun sect which only served to confuse and amaze Gong Yi who thought the sect leader was just an elder within the sect…
But the moment he understood that the person who had adopted him was not just an elder but the general manager of the sect, Gong Yi instantly began to see life from a new perspective, because he could never get over the irony that he would actually be adopted by the leader of one of the four strongest sects of the entire Dogon Empire.
The first thing was the oddest probability that the sect leader would even visit the slums, followed by the probability of him being selected out of the hundreds of orphans in the slums, thus, ever since then, his mischievous affinity was toned down a notch to be replaced by the good qualities of the sect leader…
In fact, he had so much followed the path of his foster father, that they both walk, sit, eat, talk and even cultivate with the same actions and posture…
Then he showed his will shattering talent in cultivation by cultivating from the 5 Star Qi Creation stage to the Peak of Dan Formation in just three years…
Furthermore, if not for the fact that he had requested that he formed his first Nascent Soul using an Intent Level Karma Dao, he would most likely have completed the process and formed his first nascent soul…
But the point was, the Karma Dao is not something one cultivates, but something one improves upon by gaining several bouts of enlightenment and as a result most often than not, requires the cultivator to embark on cultivation journeys, which could averagely take anywhere from one minute to well over thirty years to complete…
Even the sect leader himself had lived the life of a mortal in the slums for about four solid years before he eventually met Gong Yi who stimulated his breakthrough into the Intent Level of his sixth Dao…
The same was also applicable to Gong Yi who had gained an inspiration which could potentially raise his Karma Dao into the Intent Level and thus, finally form a Karma Dao nascent soul…
He had been cultivating in seclusion trying to form completely comprehend the Intent Level Karma Dao for two years already and even till now was still not out of seclusion…
To the rest of the sect who were aware that the sect leader had an adopted son, they only knew that he had been trying to form his first nascent soul but didn't know which Dao he was using to do so…

March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
