The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 84

A long time into the losing battle, a specific expert from the ancient gods and demi-gods of the human race became enlightened enough to discover the plot between these two entities.
So, he urged the last of these ancient gods and demi-gods of all races to begin to pray, not to win the losing battle, but to at least ensure the survival each of the species that were naively involved in the battle.
So, the good entity intervened in the battle and took each one of a male and a female sex of every of its descendants away from the battlefield. Meaning that for humans, it took one male and female each. Then, it did the same for plants, animals and every other living species.
The evil entity sent its minions in pursuit of the surviving good species, but despite all the killings and intense bloodthirst of these demons, the good entity still felt they were worthy of redemption and as a result couldn't bring itself to kill them.
So, instead of killing these demons, it granted the survivors the power to fight against evil and kill them. With the new level of power granted to them, the good living species began to stage a comeback on the demons.
The evil entity didn't know where or how they came to possess this new source of power, and after losing millions upon millions of its minions, the evil entity began to directly intervene in the battle. This also spurred the good entity to enter into the fray.
But its goodness was so great that rather than to kill these evil minions, it began to seal them in separate dimensions. With their creator backing them the good living species began to see their morale increase with each demon they defeated.
Before long, over half of these demons were already defeated. But by then, the evil entity had already figured out the source of the good entity's powers. So, it created a much stronger and more mystical version of these demons; these were the devils.
These devils upset the balance of the battle and even the battlefield. But the more these devils killed the stronger they became.
This was because they were feeding on the lifeforce and soul of every good living specie they killed.
Whilst this was uncommon amongst the good living species, it was very rampant amongst the devils and as a result, this fact served to be a chink in the armour of the good living species as they began to lose the battle once again.
This battle raged on for millions of years and the good living species population gradually began to thin out. Seeing that there was no way out of this situation.
The good entity engaged in a life-determining battle with the evil entity. If it won, then the good living species would survive, but if it lost, that would be the end of everything.
This is because, these evil minions wouldn't have any resistance and thereby continue to wreak havoc everywhere until they dominate every corner of the universe.
The battle between these great entities raged for thousands of years as galaxies were destroyed and billions of worlds. After fighting for so long without any potential winner in sight, the good entity opted for an alternative solution.
The good entity burnt part of its life force and mirrored the entire universe. It then transported everything untainted by the demon aura into this mirrored universe and then sealed the evil entity and its demons and devils in the real universe.

But in the process of doing this, the evil entity, unwilling to accept the outcome managed to sneak in millions of lesser demons, since the good entity would notice if it sent as much population of the greater demons or devils.
After completely sealing the real universe, the good entity found the lesser demons transported into the mirrored universe and sealed them in different locations. The lesser demons were then sealed in over a million different locations in the mirrored universe.
But over time, these lesser demons began to grow in intelligence and power as they began to facilitate a way for their peers in the real universe to crossover into this mirrored universe and continue their goal of universal domination.
After sealing these lesser demons, the good entity appointed several guardians to these seal points.
For the East region of the universe, several beast bloodlines such as the; Dragon and Qilin bloodlines were appointed guardians over the seal points in that region.
For the southern region of the universe, the ocean beast bloodlines such as the; Kraken bloodlines and the Serena bloodlines and few others were selected as guardians over the oceanic seal points.
For the human race occupying the central region of the entire universe, several clans and bloodlines were appointed guardians over the seal points in their regions [Lol…you were looking for spoilers…hahahahahaha!!!!].
For the western region of the universe, which contained the Phoenix, Elven and the Fairy bloodlines, experts were also appointed to guard their own seal points.
Then, the northern part which was where the main seal was located between the two universes was guarded by specific selected representatives of each regions of the universe to guard it.
These representatives were the respective heads of the Phoenix, Fairy and Elven bloodlines, then that of the Dragon and Qilin bloodlines, including the Kraken and Serena bloodlines with that of the humans also were all gathered at this northern region of the universe.
None of these experts were below the God stage of cultivation and they were all sages with guardian weapons.
This was because, the northern part of the universe would be the entry point of these demons, devils and evil entity, should they decide to invade this mirrored universe.
"Isn't this another unexpected plot twist?" Min Hong thought to himself. Since he had begun to exist, no one had ever mentioned this to him. Not his, grandfather or his mother or his senior apprentice brother, not even King Yama mentioned this to him.
"Well, this war happened before the creation of this mirrored universe, so they most likely wouldn't know anything about it." Min Hong gradually and unknowingly walked forward until he bumped into a sort of invincible barrier, then a deep, calm and primordial voice rang out.
"Do you understand?" This ancient voice abruptly asked Min Hong a question out of the blue.
"Unh…I guess…" Min Hong voiced out his thoughts.
"You may enter…" The voice spoke once again and the resistance Min Hong faced vanished.
When Min Hong walked through the fog and past the gate, he saw a truly amazing sight on the other side. It was a small patch of land. About an acre with a small hut bang in the centre. The entire space of land around this hut were bustling with life.
There were huge canopy creating trees, several aromatic and beautiful plants, tiny pretty little insects and small creatures that were shyly hiding from Min Hong. The thickness of the Qi around here could make a mortal break through to the peak of the Qi Sea stage under three days.

Min Hong treaded the stone pathway to the hut as he began to hear the subtle streaming sound of flowing waters.
When Min Hong got to this water source, he saw a slow flowing river of potent Qi, but strangely it was crystal clear unlike the one within his Mind Palace.
After taking a soul refreshing breath of air, Min Hong sensed his mind become clear and his soul sightly purified. He then walked up to this simple looking, small thatched hut.
"I, Min Hong, have come to gain acknowledgement from the 'great creator'." The door was slightly open, so he kowtowed first and announced his arrival with his best courtesy.
After waiting for about an hour, he didn't get any response, so Min Hong opted to wait until he was attended to. His wait continued for another five months but there was still no response.
Winter came and passed, same with summer, spring and autumn. Min Hong had now waited in front of this opened door for about five years [this is in a mental timeline...] and yet there was no response.
Neither did he also attempt to enter without permission.
This continued for another two years. Min Hong soul was now extremely weary. For some strange reasons, the abundant and refreshing Qi in this area neither soothed nor nourished his soul. In fact, his soul was already so faint that it was almost transparent.
"No matter how eager, excited or anxious I am, I will never disobey the most common etiquette. This is one of the first lessons mother taught me, and I will always respect it."
The moment this thought flashed past his mind, an elderly voice sounded from within the hut.
"Your self-restraint is truly commendable. None of your predecessors have ever waited this long. You are welcome into my domain." The voice spoke.
The moment the elderly voice faded, violent gusts of the potent Qi surrounding this hut rushed over and surged into Min Hong's soul. Min Hong's soul was instantly revitalized as it continued to absorb this potent ancient Qi.
After about another five days, Min Hong's soul could finally take no more as it began to slow down its absorption rate. By the time Min Hong was done, his soul was already as strong as that of a Peak Dan Formation stage expert.
"I guess I don't have enough soul cultivation comprehension enough for me to advance my soul directly into the Nascent Soul stage." Min Hong thought to himself.
After settling his thoughts, he finally entered the hut. The hut was pretty simple. There were several wooden boxes within it radiating fearsome auras. There were two simple straw mats with a wooden table in between.
On this wooden table was a floating teapot that was hovering atop a floating golden flame.
More precisely, the golden flame was hovering over the wooden table and the teapot was also hovering over the golden flame. Then there were two little empty teacups on the table.
A frail old man was sitting on one of the mats with a cane in hand. It seemed to be the cane which he uses to walk. After curiously scrutinizing the entire room, the old man spoke.
"Sit." He gestured Min Hong to the opposing straw mat.
"I am not worthy to sit with the 'great creator'… Please pardon my disrespect." Min Hong humbly spoke.
"Firstly, you come under my roof and disrespect me by refusing my first kind gesture." The old man looked at Min Hong and rebuked.
Min Hong could already feel a subtle pressure gradually weigh down on his soul as the man continued.
"Secondly, you have blasphemed by calling me the 'great creator'…who told you I am it?" the old man added.
"Then thirdly, why are you not still sitting?" the moment he made this statement, the pressure weighing down on Min Hong vanished like he was previously hallucinating.
Furthermore, Min Hong found out that he was already sitting on the mat.
He was shocked by this realization, because he didn't want to sit at all out of sheer respect for the old man. But here he was, already comfortable under another person's roof without even realizing it.
"I promise there won't be a fourth, 'great elder'…." Min Hong gave a respectful bow as he spoke.
"Hmph! Never make promises you can't keep…" the old man spoke as he gently laid his cane on the mat and carried the hovering teapot to pour Min Hong some of its content.
Seeing this, Min Hong hurriedly picked up one of the cups with both hands and placed it under the nozzle of the teapot. But what happened next completely stumped Min Hong. This was because, nothing came out of the teapot!
But another strange thing happened also and it was that the teacup in his hands began to increase in weight, as if something was filling it up.
The old man continued to pour the invisible thing into Min Hong's cup. So, as Min Hong's logic was busy clashing with the apprehension of this strange phenomenon, the cup finally overflowed and something searing hot poured on Min Hong's hands.
Min Hong had almost dropped the cup when he remembered the old man's earlier statement; "Never make promises you can't keep…" Immediately he swooped up the second cup with one of his hand and swapped it with the filled cup.
But, the second cup was also filling up. Min Hong knew he couldn't pour the content of the first cup way because that would confirm the man's earlier statement, neither could he allow the content of the cup to stain the floors of this clean and simple room.
Left with no other choice, Min Hong shoved his head backwards and emptied the contents of the cup into his mouth. The moment this happened, Min Hong's soul was instantly set ablaze as his soul began to burn from both the inside and outside with purple flames.
Min Hong's white soul body had already begun to turn purple as he summoned all the courage, strength, dexterity and every other qualities of a true man [you name it…] to stay awake.
He still held on to the other cup which was now filled up. Probably out sheer stupidity or boldness, Min Hong swapped the cups once again and emptied the second cup into his mouth for a second time.
This time his soul flickered intensely on the verge of dissipating as the purple flames burning his soul intensified in both quality and quantity. The purple colour of the flames became deeper as it spread all over his soul and blazed higher
Min Hong at this point was already losing consciousness as his soul was being roasted from inside out and vice versa.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
