The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 14

Seeing that his actions had been completely seen through Min Tian quickly added; "Don't think for a second that I would go easy on you just because I decided to spar with you in your mother's stead."
"I actually hope grandpa doesn't hold back when sparring with me. If I could use this opportunity to completely master the Willow Leaf Palm and create the final sound, it would make today's training really worthwhile." Min Hong replied Min Tian.
Even though she knew her son was serious when he made that statement, Min Rou still couldn't help but snort in dissatisfaction at Min Tian's earlier charade. When Min Tian and Min Hong saw this, they could only laugh bitterly. To please women is indeed a very complicated matter.
Two breaths later, Min Tian abruptly charged towards Min Hong and delivered a solid fist strike. Caught a little off-guard Min Hong quickly floated backwards, reducing the rate of Min Tian's advance in the process before sending his palm forward in a bid to absorb the force behind Min Tian's fist strike.
But immediately his palm met Min Tian's fist, a surge of untamed force gushed through his entire arm before he was blasted backwards, landing on his butts and drawing a ten-meter line on the floor in the process.
His bones were still creaking as the little amount of energy he had absorbed was still too much for him to handle. He threw his palm to the side, releasing all the untamed energy towards a nearby tree, and immediately a glaring dent appeared on the tree trunk.
Min Hong was shocked and happy at this discovery, because if he had released that energy on a person's body, that person would at least be forced to retreat a few steps, if not blasted away.
He was still reveling in his discovery, before a gust of wind blew across his face. He raised his head only to find Min Tian delivering another solid punch, Min Hong immediately used the Willow Leaf palm again to block the incoming fist strike.
But instead of keeping the energy this time around, he borrowed the energy to retreat instead. In a single fluid motion, he had retreated three meters from Min Tian.
When Min Tian saw this, he was momentarily shocked at Min Hong's ability to adapt instantly to a change in situation. But he only smiled before following up his fist strike with another Kick aimed at Min Hong's head.
Min Hong, received this attack with his palm then deflected Min Tian's foot before following the opening to deliver a palm strike at Min Tian's back. But with a sharp turn mid-air, Min Tian met Min Hong's palm strike with a solid punch.
"Ka~Ka~Ka!"
The fighting duo were both momentarily shocked as a third audible muffled sound rang out, but Min Hong reacted first borrowing the extra force from Min Tian's punch before channelling it into the "Chaotic Shadow Steps" and instantly he was at least 20 meters away from Min Tian when he took the seventh step.
Min Tian's jaw slacked open at this stage as he turned his head to look at Min Rou whose face was now wearing a surprised and doting expression as she gazed at her son who just merged two techniques together to get himself out of a tight situation.

Min Tian had really followed the principle of "pressure breeds growth" by overwhelming Min Hong with three successive surprise attacks. Although, Min Hong still suffered a loss as his bones were still vibrating from these three attacks, he still handled the situation in a calm and collected manner.
The ability of a person to stay calm and collected in the face of overwhelming pressure is very important in any battle. Even though Min Tian didn't use any Qi in his attacks, the physical strength of a cultivator at the Peak of Dan Formation stage isn't something to be underestimated.
At the very least Min Tian's physical body still possessed the strength of a person at Peak Warrior stage.
Furthermore, the Min Hong who was currently training had yet to even begin cultivation. If he could battle someone at the peak of Warrior stage before cultivation, then he would be able to battle an Initial King stage or Qi Sea stage expert when he reached the Initial Warrior stage.
This reason alone was enough for the father and daughter duo to feel extremely pleased with Min Hong.
Whilst Min Tian was still feeling pleased with the current situation, Min Hong launched his own sneak attack. Taking ten utterly erratic and unsynchronized steps, Min Hong appeared in front of Min Tian and then launched a simple fist strike at Min Tian's chest.
As an expert, Min Tian smiled at Min Hong's tactics, before instantly launching a fist strike of his own, thinking of blasting this monster of a boy backwards for a second time.
But Min Hong opened his fist into a palm, absorbed the force from Min Tian's fist, before deflecting his fist and then followed up with a palm strike which was carrying about 60% of the force behind Min Tian's fist, hoping to land his first strike on his grandpa.
"Sneaky brat!" Min Tian was momentarily startled when he understood what Min Hong was trying to accomplish. He only had enough time to cross his arms over his chest before Min Hong's palm arrived.
A muffled but clear sound rang out, as Min Tian was forced to retreat three steps before stabilising himself with a fourth heavy step.
Min Hong was dejected when he saw his sneak attack blocked by Min Tian. His assassin instincts were momentarily triggered just now and the idea of using Min Tian's attack against him popped into his head, because if he was to attack his grandfather with his own strength, he would be unable to accomplish anything.
Min Rou was really flabbergasted as Min Hong was just pulling out tricks after tricks, but what really shook her heart was that, the final step Min Tian took was about ten inches deep into the ground and she knew if Min Hong had continued with his simple fist strike, it would have been hard for Min Tian to even retreat half a step.
Min Tian jerked his arms as the tingling pain he was feeling vanished. The look he was now giving Min Hong was significantly more serious than earlier, he knew he couldn't afford to underestimate this young man, or else it would only spell his defeat.
Moreover, where would he put his face if everyone were to learn that the Head of the Min Family, who was at Peak Dan Formation stage was defeated by a third-generation kid, who hadn't even started cultivating.

Reaching this point in his train of thoughts, Min Tian launched a barrage of palm strikes this time around, ensuring that Min Hong couldn't find enough force to absorb and reflect. But he was bound to be disappointed as Min Hong only chose to block and dodge his attacks.
For every palm strike Min Tian launched, Min Hong needed five quick chaotic steps to neutralize or dodge it. After few breaths, Min Hong had already suffered over a hundred successive attacks. Min Tian wanted to make sure he landed another attack on Min Hong.
So, he relentlessly attacked, waiting for Min Hong to take his 1000th step and then land a final palm strike on him
After two more breaths, Min Hong took his final step, and surely Min Tian followed up with a decisive and a little more forceful palm strike that caused even Min Rou to furrow her brows a little. But Min Hong was expecting such a reaction, because that was one of his current flaws.
He would have to restart the chaotic steps when he took the last step, but instead of doing such, Min Hong used the same technique he used against the 1000th iron weight earlier in his training.
Instead of retreating, he advanced with a palm strike catching Min Tian completely off-guard this time. He absorbed the force from the palm strike, deflected Min Tian's palm and with a burst of speed from the Chaotic Shadow Steps, his palm streaked forward and landed on Min Tian's face.
"Smack!"
This time around, he finally landed a clean palm strike on his grandfather. Min Tian was completely forced back as his feet drew a three-meter line on the ground.
"Hong'er!" Min Rou screamed, as she realized that Min Hong just slapped his grandfather. She dashed towards Min Hong but was immediately stopped by Min Tian with a wave of his hands.
Min Tian was currently beaming in joy and satisfaction. In fact, he was smiling so hard it was possible to see a faint trace of blood on his lips. Min Hong had really impressed him today, as a result he wasn't angry that the little boy slapped him, instead it was the other way around.
Min Rou sighed in relief when she saw that her father seemed to be happy with the outcome of the spar. But she still sent a hard knock towards Min Hong's head, who was caught off-guard.
Min Hong felt a stinging pain at the centre of his head, but he only responded with a bitter smile. He knew what he did was considered an utter disrespect and even a taboo, because Min Tian wasn't just his grandfather but also the Head of the Min Family. If this was done elsewhere, if he wasn't Killed, he would at least be severely punished.
After getting through the awkward situation, fatigue spread across Min Hong's body. This extremely brief spar had really done him a little damage. But just as this thought crossed his head, a warm energy gushed through his body and he felt refreshed again.
Min Tian and Min Rou were currently looking at Min Hong as his fatigue gradually receded. But two breaths later, their faces suddenly turn extremely serious. This was because extremely faint natural energy started gathering around Min Hong's body and they lingered around his skin as if they were looking for something, but vanished two breaths later.
Min Hong was startled at this phenomenon, but Min Tian and Min Rou seemed to be overjoyed instead. This only seemed to spike his curiosity and as he tried to ask Min Tian what was happening, he found himself in his mother's embrace.
"It turns out, you needed enough pressure to stimulate your potential!" Min Tian spoke as he slowly walked towards the mother and son duo.
Min Hong was still lost; he didn't know what the phenomenon signified and why his mother was currently hugging him with so much joy. Though he felt landing an attack on his grandpa was a significant achievement, he didn't believe it was enough for his mother to show this much emotions.
"You should be happy little one, your 8 great meridians just appeared. This is the reward for all the hard work you've put into your exercises. Your path to immortality has just been paved." Min Tian spoke, as he ruffled Min Hong's hair.
"My 8 great meridians have appeared? I can now start cultivating?" Min Hong asked with a euphoric smile that suggests various unknown chemicals had exploded in his brains.
Min Rou nodded her head as she released Min Hong from her embrace. "Alright! You are still covered in sweat; you should go to the Min Family Waterfall resort on the other side of the mountain to soak and soothe your muscles." she happily added.
"Alright! Little one, your mother and I will be waiting for you at home. Don't stay out there too long. Although the water at the bottom of the waterfall is cool and soothing, you've yet to have breakfast, and you might cause your mother to worry." Min Tian added.
Min Hong was very happy when he heard this. He had naturally heard about this waterfall from his first cousin; Min Jiao. She had told him that it was a place that was always covered in Qi mist all year round. The stream water at the bottom of the waterfall is always cool during hot weather conditions and warm during cold weather conditions.
The peculiarity of this stream made the Min Family build a resort around it and it has served as one of the major sources of income for the family. In addition, different experts from the entire Soaring Cloud Village come to the resort to soak after breakthrough in cultivation.
Apparently, the stream water would soothe one's muscles while the Qi mist will clear one's mind, giving one the chance to stabilize their cultivation base quicker than normal.
Furthermore, people who were learning specific techniques frequently come here to calm their minds, giving them greater opportunity to comprehend these techniques.
So, it's only natural that many experts from Soaring Cloud Village frequently come to this place, pay and then soak in this unique bath.
