Xie Xuning was observing Wu Cailan throughout the exchange as he stood behind Ye Tianxin, and the more he looked at her, the more familiar he found her to be.

“Madam, did you, by chance, work in the police station’s Household Registration Department in the past?”

Wu Cailan was stunned upon hearing Xie Xuning’s question, for she could not recognize him at all.

Xie Xuning couldn’t help but reply gravely, “Then may I remind you of your response when I came to seek you out in August 1988? You told me that both Ye Linlang and her mother were dead!”
