Xu Yuan marched out and slammed the door shut.

Liu Xu received the same treatment as Xu Yuan back in her own home. The Liu family was distantly related to the Xie and Li families, which formed the core of the clan.

“Aunt, why didn’t you help me out? Uncle Xie…”

Li Zhiwei, who was sitting by the side, replied, “Liu Xu, how do you expect me to help you?”

“What gives them the rights to send me back? That wh*re is still seducing the instructor back there.”

Liu Xu’s mother, Li Yunfei, reprimanded disapprovingly, “Xu, how could you speak to your aunt like that?”

Li Zhiwei’s head was throbbing with pain. She knew that she should never have acceded to Xie Xuning’s request.

Xie Xuning was seated on a long bench alone, and Li Zhiwei could spot him from afar. She then slowed down her pace and made her way over to him.

“Brother Xu.”

Xie Xuning appeared to be lost in thoughts and was slightly surprised to be interrupted.

“Is something wrong?”

Li Zhiwei’s heart wrenched when she heard his reply. A long time had passed, and yet he still continued to have a lukewarm attitude towards her.

Li Zhiwei apologized to Xie Xuning for calling him in the middle of the night.
