“Look at the train carriage. There are so many empty seats around. Why didn’t Zhou Hong seat somewhere else? He chose instead to sit down in front of Ying Tao.”

‘Was there any need to think about it? It was because pretty girls are easy on the eyes,’ Yan Jun thought.

“Perhaps it’s because Ying Tao is pretty.”

Director Jin nodded. “What’s the first thing men and women notice? That’s right. It’s the looks,” he pointed, answering his own question. “The appearance, no matter how superficial this sounds, determines whether you are willing to get to know her and ask for a second date.” Director Jin paused and waited for reactions. When no one would dare comment, he continued, “Her personality determines whether you can overlook her appearance. Zhou Hong is fleeing from those people. He is a very prudent person. When he enters the train carriage, he has to observe it. Yan Jun, you are only familiar with the lines in this script. But to act out this character well, you have to understand Zhou Hong as a person.”

Director Jin pointed out many things that had gone wrong in just a scene.

This made Ye Tianxin and Yan Jun feel even more stressed.

Filming a movie was different from that of a drama series. Film-making was very demanding on the actors’ emotions and how they express them.

The movie screen was so big that when the camera pans in, even the pores on one’s face could be seen.

Much less whether one’s acting would be able to stir the emotions of the viewers.

“Director Jin, I am sorry. I will act out this part again.”

Director Jin felt that perhaps his expectations were too high. Ye Tianxin and Yan Jun were both newbies. Ye Tianxin, especially, had never acted before this. Her being able to act to this level already showed that she was exceptionally talented.

He sighed. “Tianxin, take a break. I will film Yan Jun’s part first.”

Director Jin had more than one camera when he filmed.

His most famous method of filming was using four cameras at the same time.

At a time like this, expectations for an actor became incredibly high.

“Director Jin, can I take a look at the scenes you all filmed earlier?”

Director Jin nodded and asked the assistant director to play the reel for Ye Tianxin.

Ye Tianxin sat in front of a small screen by herself and watched as Yan Jun acted.

The scene was one in which Yan Jun had received orders from his superiors and was writing his will. Yan Jun’s acting was very realistic as he portrayed how Zhou Hong struggled to choose between his family and his country.

Ye Tianxin teared up as a teardrop wet the paper where Yan Jun had been writing his will.

“How’s my acting?”

Ye Tianxin did not know when Yan Jun had appeared. He sat down beside her and turned to look at Ye Tianxin’s side profile. ‘This girl is really beautiful,’ he noticed.

Even though there were plenty of beautiful girls in the entertainment industry, Ye Tianxin looked innocent. Her eyes were like a field of stars, and one could not help but be mesmerized by them.

“You acted very well. Look, I cried, too,” Ye Tianxin remarked as she wiped her eyes.

Ye Tianxin smiled embarrassedly. Yan Jun was a handsome man. He was 1.83 meters tall and had a sunny disposition.

“Ye Tianxin, let’s date!”

Yan Jun was seated beside Ye Tianxin. He looked at Ye Tianxin seriously.

‘Was this actor out of his mind?’ Ye Tianxin thought.

“Sorry. I like somebody else.” Ye Tianxin refused Yan Jun’s suggestion instantly.

Yan Jun placed his hand over his chest. “I’m so hurt! Ye Tianxin, can’t you say that in a more roundabout manner?”

“I can’t. I don’t like you… I mean, I like you, but not in that kind of way…,” Ye Tianxin tried to put it lightly. “So I have told you that straightforwardly. This is what I should do.”

Yan Jun was amused by Ye Tianxin’s honesty. “Ye Tianxin, I am sorry. I did not express myself correctly earlier. What I mean is, Ying Tao, shall we date?”
