Chasing After My Wife Chapter 161

It was really a blessing in disguise that Cielo wasn't able to answer Travis when he called. Her excuse sounded real.
Only she knew what an ordeal she's been going through. She stood up and sat on the opposite couch so that she'd see Travis if he'll ever come out. She didn't want to be taken aback like earlier.
She dialed another string of numbers but she didn't call it. She was still hesitant and a bit worried. She really can't stop herself from worrying.
He took a long breath and let it out before pressing the call button. She waited for her to pick up but the phone just kept on ringing. She hung up and dialed it again but there was no one.
"She must be busy." She murmured while she dialed the call. She let it ring and waited for the voicemail box. When she reached it, she left her a message for Winter to call her back when she's available.
After an hour, Savannah finished cleaning the items and Jillyanna was also done eating. The both of them had changed their clothes and were ready to go out.
"I'll just stay here since Travis and the other four guards will be coming with you." Hawk told Savannah when they were outside the house. "Be extra careful."
"Hn. Take care of the house while we're gone." Savannah responded before leaving a kiss on his cheeks. "I'll go now."
She left instantly and ran to the car that Travis and Jillyanna will be using. She sat on the backseat silently.
"Are you getting familiar with the things earlier?" Jillyanna asked. "You're going on a mission starting tomorrow, right?" she added.
"Yes. I hope it will be quick." Savannah answered. Jillyanna smiled at her and shifted her eyes to Savannah's phone that she was holding.

She pulled out her phone and sent her a message. Travis didn't know what transpired but he was sure that the two of them were sending secret messages.
When they reached the mall, Jillyanna grabbed Savannah's hand and led her to men's clothing department.
"Wifey, are you sure you're holding the hand of the right person?" Travis sulked when she just ran off with Savannah, neglecting him all of a sudden.
He watched them check on clothes and other things. Savannah would sometimes show something to her on the phone before grabbing another clothes.
To make up for her lies earlier, Jillyanna was going to buy a gift for him. Savannah was also buying a gift for Hawk and some dresses for herself. She needed those to match up her accessories.
Savannah bought a shirt and shoes for Hawk. She included a shirt for Valkyrie, too. After that, the two of them looked for watches.
Jillyanna bought a watch for Travis and another one for herself to match with his.
"You can engrave the name of the person on the back of the watch ma'am. Would you like me to put on the name of the receiver?" the sales attendant informed her.
"Hn. For the men's watch, please write this word. For the woman, please write this." Jillyanna told her and gave the piece of paper back to the lady.
"You're staking your claim already. Why don't you marry him instead?" Savannah asked in a whisper. "I can tell that you love him and he loves you. What's stopping you from taking the step?"
"I'll let him know when I'm ready." Jillyanna stated. She wasn't completely free yet. She's got so many secrets and she didn't know how to start saying it.
Travis was taking a phone call so he didn't know that Jillyanna bought something for him. He didn't receive notifications from his bank so he thought that she just accompanied Savannah to buy something.

In actual truth, Jillyanna used her spare card when paying for the items which was why he didn't receive any notifications.
When they finished buying the things, it was Savannah who was holding the shopping bag containing the watches.
"You didn't buy anything?" Travis asked her when they got back to the car.
"Nope. I didn't find anything interesting. I just helped Savannah with the things she needed." Jillyanna stated.
Travis just nodded his head and focused on driving. His eyes were on the road so he didn't see the exchanged of secretive smiles between Jillyanna and Savannah.
They didn't spend too much time in the mall. They were gone for two hours and came back as soon as possible. "Come and meet me at the backyard with your accessories after half an hour. Don't let anyone know." Jillyanna whispered to Savannah before walking towards Travis.
Savannah stopped on her track and watched her disappearing back. She was confused why she wanted to see her accessories but she still did it anyway.
"You're back." Hawk uttered when he saw her with several shopping bags. "What are these?" he asked.
"Ooppss! No peeking. I am going out for a while. I want to practice using the accessories again. Don't come out this time. I'll give you a surprise when I get back."
"Okay." Hawk responded obediently. He's got complete trust in her so he's got nothing to worry.
Savannah picked up the box which wasn't really heavy and came down towards the backyard.
On the other hand, Jillyanna was having a problem with Travis. He wasn't letting her go if she's not going to kiss him. Not just the usual peck but a French kiss!
"This is your punishment for ignoring me earlier." Travis stated with a sad face. "You were always with Savannah and you didn't even buy anything for me."
"Can we do this when I get back? I promise I'll give you what you want."
"Okay."
'Eeh? He agreed?' Jillyanna frowned for a moment. She didn't really think he'd agree.
"You can do whatever you want to do now. Don't forget your promise. I'll be staying in the study room." Travis even pushed her out of the door.
He was really confusing her.

The Way of Wrought Earth, or: My Tale of Rebirth as a Mostly Inanimate Rock
Mirage Winter. Second Clause, current act. A Relic Hunter's life is harsh — and often short — in the shattered lands of the Frontier. But when Whitelight reemerges, a legendary blade capable of separating anything the user wills it to cut, a newly formed unit organized of Hunter’s both young and old (and sediment based, in a particular case) vow to stop it from falling into cruel hands. Standing against them is the Frontier itself: the unbridled wrath of global federations, fellow Hunters, and those who lurk in the shadows of giants. As the world races to unravel a history desperately concealed, a semi-sapient rock soon realizes that some things are better off dead and buried — especially when those secrets carry an insidious corruption with no cure. Iteration: Mirror-glass Stars in Iron Oceans. First Clause. A soul wakes up as a rock, clinging to fragmented memories and knowledge of another era. What fate awaits such a creature? No, this isn't satire. Yes, I am dumb enough to try to take this seriously. Updates Wednesday, Friday with a variable amount of chapters. This story is not recommended for the easily disturbed. This is your only warning.

Glitch
I always dreamed of being one of the Awakened, one of the heroes that fights back the Insanity on his own terms. They’re always pictured driving the newest cars, wearing the latest clothes, using the best gene-mods and implants. They’re supposed to be more than just human. At least, that’s what I thought until I Awakened. Now my life is a mess of corporate intrigue, shifty politics, cyberzombies and at least one group of revolutionaries whose ideas are sounding better every day. I never wanted to be the punk that brought the system down, but the temptation to just glitch out is growing by the minute. Glitch is a Cyberpunk LitRPG set in a near future where some people are given abilities that allow them to do things that no normal human could ever do. Wallowing in self-loathing, he lives his days without much purpose or motivation. Life, however, had other plans. On a rainy night of watching life pass him by, an explosion suddenly rips our young protagonist out of the bland world he knew. Meeting an old man claiming to be able to use magic, will his life finally change? Will the world finally give him a chance? This is a complete rewrite of my earlier story. Aside from my own personal problems with depression, there were many, many things I came to dislike about the way it was progressing. With the low quality of the earlier chapters, it was in dire need of at least an editing run. Instead of just editing the subpar chapters, I decided to just do it over again and change what I did not like. Please also note that I am not a native English speaker and thus might make mistakes. I have tried hard to find and correct most, but I am certainly not perfect. If you notice anything that is wrong just leave a comment below the chapter and I will try to get to it.
