Chasing After My Wife Chapter 141

Travis felt the drop of her tears on his arm. "Hey! Why are you crying?" He wiped her tears away with his thumbs.
"It's because I hurt you." Jillyanna mumbled between sobs. "Even when you said you are fine, I know you are not. My teeth mark caused some bruises."
Travis wanted to laugh at her silly remarks but she looked so sad over the small bruise on his shoulder so he stopped himself.
He hugged her again and rubbed her back to comfort her. "It does hurt a bit. But it's okay now after you put the compress."
"I'm sorry." she whispered again. She just felt so guilty with what she did but she couldn't help it. Before, it was her arms that she would bit but now, looking at him made her want to bit him.
"Shh. No need to apologize." Travis tried his best to calm her. "I am really fine."
It wasn't until half an hour had passed that Jillyanna finally calmed down. She even fell asleep in his arms so he had to transfer her to his adjacent room.
He let her sleep in his room and went back outside to continue working. He called his secretary to give her a different task which was to check the Finance Department who handled the salary of their employees. To be specific, it was to monitor Mr. Guevarra who worked in that department.
"So I'll be staying in that department? For how long?" His secretary asked.
"Just for a week. I'll have Savannah cover your work here while you check on the person."
"Okay. Got it boss." She was about to turn around and left when she remembered something. "Boss, is your wife alright? She felt so bothered earlier when we looked for the cold compress."

"My wife is fine. I was the one who got hurt so she went out to find a cold compress."
"I see. Anyway, no matter how much you flaunt your love in front of me, it has no effect. I'm married after all." She said between faint laughters and left him alone.
Travis just made a 'tched' sound and brought his laptop, documents and phone back to his room. Jillyanna would be in panic if he's not around when she wakes up so he needed to stay beside her.
On the other hand, inside the Sandoval's mansion, Cheska was having a fight with her stepfather. After she made public of her relationship, she didn't go home. Instead, she stayed in her apartment for a couple of days.
Now that she's back, she was ready to face his anger but she didn't expect that he actually created a scene in front of Jillyanna.
"What was that all about? One of my friends who worked there told me what happened? Dad! How many times do I have to tell you stop messing with Travis?" Cheska yelled in anger. "I don't want to be married for some business purposes."
"Cheska you don't understand. What we have now -"
"No dad. You don't understand me at all. I've been obedient all these years. I don't need riches that don't belong to me. I'm happy with Diego and I am happy with my work. Let's be contended with what we have."
Mr. Sandoval wasn't able to retort her at all. He stood in front of her in silence.
"Dad, can you at least give Diego a chance? I don't want anyone else but him."
"Fine. Do whatever you want. I don't care anymore." Mr. Sandoval left his daughter and walked towards his room.

Cheska slumped down on the couch and sighed. She felt a lot better now that she expressed how she truly feels. Her mother approached her and gave her head a gentle pat.
"Just give your father time."
"Hn." Cheska agreed with her mother.
The intense argument was the opposite to the atmosphere in Travis' office room. Jillyanna was still asleep and Travis was still working.
Only the sound of her breathing and the typing sound on the keyboard can be heard. Travis would sometimes steal kisses from her before going back to what he was doing.
When she woke up, the sun was about to set and the city was started to glitter with different color of lights. People were packing their things to go home and some were just leaving their homes for work.
"Are you done working?" Jillyanna asked him since he was still signing some documents.
"Not yet but I can do this tomorrow. Shall we go home now?"
"Hn. Let's go home." She picked up her bag and walked towards him.
Travis closed his laptop and arrange the documents before going out of the room with her. He placed his things on his table and turned off the lights.
"Let's go home everyone." Travis told his employees who was still doing some things.
"Yes boss. We'll be done in a while."
"Just a little bit boss."
"Logging off now."
Travis didn't really want his employees to work overtime. As much as possible, he want them to finish their work on time so that they can go home and rest.
Jillyanna smiled to everyone and left with Travis. Top was actually just sitting on a couch near the reception area while waiting for them.
"Good evening boss and young madam."
"Good evening." Jillyanna and Travis greeted him back. The three of them entered the elevator and left the building.
When they got home, Savannah was helping Auntie Fei cook since she felt bored. Auntie Sisi was watering the plants. Hawk and Valkyrie was checking on the cameras and were adding another batch of thermal sensors.
"Val, can you check if Jenny's around? I've been calling her since earlier and she wasn't answering." Jillyanna told him.
"Sure. Would you like me to bring her here if she's around?"
"That would be great. Thanks a lot."
Valkyrie left immediately and jogged towards Jenny's house. Even though she was told to live with Jillyanna, she insisted to stay in that small house.
Valkyrie stopped in his track when he saw a dark liquid on the ground. He touched it with his index finger and smelled it.
"Shit! It's blood."

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.
