Chasing After My Wife Chapter 121

Valkyrie's eyes darkened from rage. 'Over me? As if I'd let you to that.' He added mentally while holding his gaze steady at Brown.
"Matt, let's just forget that I ever confessed to you, okay? That way, we can still maintain the relationship that we have." Brown spoke.
His guilt was written all over his face. He was taken by Valkyrie's father out of kindness but, what did he do to repay his kindness? He made a move on his son.
"Don't decide things for me! Do you think it's easy to forget? It's because of you that I become like this!" Valkyrie stated through gritted teeth. He didn't mean to blame him but he was so angry that he couldn't think properly.
Brown didn't speak. He looked away from him, holding his tears back from flowing. "I'm sorry."
"Stop saying sorry! Your sorry can't change anything." Valkyrie finally got away from him and stormed out of the room, leaving Brown who was crying silently alone.
It was because of that little mistake that he couldn't face him directly now. Both of them were already sent to the military when he got the courage to confess to him. He was not exactly courageous, he made himself drunk and went to Valkyrie's room.
"Hey Brown, why are you here?" Valkyrie asked though his vision was blurry, he was still able to hear the concern in his voice.
He didn't stop from walking until he reached his bed. "I have something to tell you."
"You stinky brat! Why are you drunk? Who told you to drink?" Valkyrie looked for a wash cloth and basin but before he could move, Brown pulled him back to his bed.
"I like you. I like you since the first time I met you." That's it. And all hell's gone wild.

He didn't know why he let him do it, lay his hands on him but, when the next morning arrived, Valkyrie didn't talk to him. His face was alway expressionless.
Many thought that they had a fight but for Brown it was more than a fight. Then after few months, they were sent on a mission which brought them to Travis. It was the first time he talked to him after four months. It was like he had an amnesia and forgot what happened. He was elated for a moment there.
However, when they went back after that mission, Valkyrie was back to his cold and aloof self.
That time, he promised not to get close to him. He wanted to stay away as far as he could. Their captain wasn't helping though, she always sent them to missions, together with Savannah and Hawk.
Brown curled his body while thinking about the past. It was all his fault. Now that a new chance was given for him to right his wrong, he grabbed onto it.
"Just tonight. Just let me end everything tonight." He murmured to himself while wiping his tears away.
His phone rang from the bedside table, seeing the familiar string of numbers, he picked it up to answer. "Brown." Just an introduction to his name.
"What time?" the woman on the other line asked.
"Just be on standby. Mission will commence at 00:00 midnight. I will be there right after."
"Okay. Keep your ass safe doc. I need you for this critical mission."
"Sure. I will do my best Cap. even if it will cost my life." He's ready to die. He always wanted to die but he's got three people supporting his back during their missions.
"I don't need your life. If it goes wrong, you have to escape. Don't die in that mission."

"Understood."
They talked for another few minutes about the mission and what he needed to do. He won't be going there as a military but just a simple doctor.
He put down his phone after the call ended and pack some personal stuff. He needed to bring his medical stuff wherever he goes, this time wasn't any different.
Valkyrie, on the other hand, was still angry. With nothing to vent his anger out, he started planting flowers on Jillyanna's garden. He already knew that Jillyanna's mother liked flowers so he planted some to distract himself.
After an hour, when he calmed down, he took out his phone and called Travis to let him know about his findings.
"RV?" he asked since he didn't know if it was Jillyanna or Travis who's holding the phone. And he was right! Jillyanna was using it.
"Travis, Val is calling you." he heard her say and after a few seconds Travis came to talk to him.
"Hi Val. You got everything already?" Travis asked, sitting beside Jillyanna who was busy editing her video with the help of Cielo and Jenny.
"I don't think your enemy this time is an easy target. The accounts that were used to post the issue online were hacked by someone. I checked on the IP address and they were from the outside of the country. Aside from the reporter, because he really used his account to post that issue."
"I'll give them a visit later. Thanks for your help Val. Did you send me the details?"
"Yes. I sent it already."
"Thanks." Travis stated. "Make sure to prepare properly for the mission tonight. If things go wrong, escape!"
"That's not what a military should do." Valkyrie responded while laughing.
"There's still a chance to bust them in the future. However, second chance of life is rare."
"I know. We'll be careful."
"Good. I'll hang up now. I'll check on the report you sent."
Travis ended the call and turned to Jillyanna. "Can I barrow the monitoring room at the basement?"
Jillyanna nodded her head. "Go ahead. Call me if you need something."
"Okay." He kissed her forehead and left for the monitoring room.
Diego and Cheska cleared their names but the main root have to be plucked before it grows another branch or leaves. He can't let Jillyanna suffer again because of him.

Quantum Worlds (A LitRPG dark fantasy)
Find the missing VIP in an illegal game world. Kill the monsters. Return home for the paycheck. Decorated Marine commander, Damon Williams, never thought his latest mission would take place in a full-immersion world fighting monsters… but when a high-value VIP disappears after being stealthily transported to a banned MMORPG, he's their only hope. Damon must lead a group of rescuers into an unforgiving world infested with terrifying monsters and worse. Pain is real. Death is permanent. He and his crew must adapt quickly, trust each other, and fight to survive. And if all that's not bad enough, they'll also have to race against time to avoid the realm’s disintegration and mutation effects. Quantum Worlds features race and class designations, unique creatures, dungeon crawling, level progression and Easter eggs that reference video games and pop culture. This a dark fantasy, but it also has sprinklings of humor throughout. It is a multi-cast, multi-pov story. In many ways, it is a melding of one of my favorite novels, “The Stand”, with my favourite genre, LitRPG. I don’t espouse to be anywhere near Stephen King, but I would like to think that I have succeeded in many areas here (you’ll be the judge of that). So, this thriller-style story has a lot of build-up and lots of drama. When it hits the 100-page mark, it starts to take off with some intense action and fight scenes (although there are battles long before that). Nothing comes easy for this group of rescuers. And the dangers are very real. This saga is already over 100 chapters with more to come. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your reviews, comments, and feedback. Thanks. Chapters are uploaded every day at noon ET. Please do not repost this work anywhere without my written permission. Quantum Worlds is a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.

Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends
In the civilized world of humans, 'monsters' have all but passed into legend. But when something goes bump in the night, when people begin to disappear, when a dark mystery begins to haunt even the most peaceful villages, there is only one organization to turn to: the Hunters. The Venatori. Having lived a life of discipline and service, former soldier Caiden Voros finds something even worse than the wars of humans: the monsters that hunt them. Horrors yet unknown even to him and his many scars await in the claws, talons, fangs, and mysterious powers of creatures so far beyond humans that he must dedicate himself entirely to the art of slaying them. Harboring a secret of his own and in a constant struggle to find answers while maintaining his sanity, however, Caiden begins to ask the age-old question... Who is truly worse, the monsters or the Men? Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends is an episodic collection of stories, each of which stand on its own, but they also build upon each other in a consecutive order, bridging a gap between a novel and short story collection. These stories follow monster hunter Caiden Voros and his partner Gwen Vergil as they embark on tales of mystery, horror, and adventure to track down monsters - the living dead, beast-men, shape-shifters, spirits, and many more - that would do harm to innocent lives and, by whatever means necessary, put a stop to their terrors. Their motives, however, are not always what they seem.
