Chasing After My Wife Chapter 76

Eliezer was surprised and disappointed at the same time. He was surprised to find out that she's indeed pregnant and disappointed to himself for being a coward. He never got the strength and courage to tell her how he feels towards her.
"It's good that you gave her medicine. She might have caught a cold outside or she was over exhausted which caused her fever. Just let her drink another medicine after five hours. I don't find any abnormalities with her vitals so there's no need to worry." Eliezer stated after checking Jillyanna. "Make sure that you don't stress her out and make sure that she eats healthy foods" he added to remind them.
"Thank you Eli." Cielo responded and helped him with his things. "I am always grateful for being there when we need you."
"That's my job." Eliezer stated with a faint smile but the pain in his eyes had not subsided.
As a man, Travis knew that look. He even remembered his voice. He was the man Jillyanna was with when buying groceries.
"Thank you for always helping her out and the last time when you helped her with groceries. Thank you very much." Travis commented with a sincere look. That made Cielo look back to him in surprise. She didn't know that he'd been monitoring Jillyanna but, how come he didn't come to her aid when she fainted?
Eliezer and Travis looked at each other's eyes as if they were sizing up each other. Cielo didn't care though. As long as Jillyanna's fine, they can stare with each other's forever.
Eliezer didn't respond to Travis but he nodded his head faintly to acknowledge his statement.
"I'll go ahead. Have a good night." Eliezer picked up his things and left the room with Cielo following behind him.

"I'll send you out." Cielo spoke out when he glanced at him. Eliezer smiled and didn't say anything.
Travis, who was left inside the room, helped Jillyanna sleep comfortably. He turned on the air conditioner to give out a little coolness in her room but he made sure that she's covered with her thick blanket.
He needed to take care of her. He didn't like any other man taking care of her whenever she got a fever.
"I love you Jillyanna. Please realize that I am sincere with my feelings for you." he whispered while holding one of her hands in his. He kept kissing the back of her hand and caressed it. "Please be alright soon."
The night passed and Travis fell asleep beside her bed, still holding her hands with his. Jillyanna woke up and saw his face first thing in the morning.
His hair was a little disheveled, stubbles had grown a bit on his jaw and the dark circles under his hand were still cleared.
"If you stop pretending you won't be tired." Jillyanna mumbled to herself while looking at him. She tried getting her hand back slowly but her movement still woke him up.
"Are you okay? Are you feeling dizzy? Do you need water?" Travis asked her consecutively in his groggy state.
Jillyanna wanted to laugh at him but she kept a straight face and pulled her hand. "I am fine. I don't need anything. However, I wanted to know why you are here."
"Didn't you invite me to stay here? I moved here last night. I brought my friends with me since they can be a bodyguard." Travis admitted to her and helped her sit up on her bed when she was struggling to do so.
"Oh? I thought you left and would not be coming back. That made me really happy." she told him with a sarcastic face.

"I left to get my things. Didn't you see that Savannah stayed here with you?" Travis asked with a grin hanging on his lips. Teasing her was his new-found hobby.
Jillyanna rolled her eyes and turned her face away from him. "I don't really care. As long as I get to stay here, nothing else mattered."
"Stop sulking already wifey. Sorry I didn't tell you last night." Travis teased her again with a serious face this time and Jillyanna got so annoyed, she wanted to punch him.
"I am not sulking you idiot!" she cursed at him and threw a pillow on his face.
"Then why are you angry at me? I should be the one angry at you. I was so careful yesterday, wrapping you up with thick clothes to avoid getting cold but, you slept yesterday with your wet hair. Cielo might've not noticed it but I did. Why aren't you being careful?" he reprimanded her making her feel guilty in the process. That's the purpose, he wanted her to realize his care for her.
"My fault. Sorry." Jillyanna responded but she wasn't looking at him.
Travis moved closer to her and held her chin, made her look at him and said, "It's your fault, yes."
"I hate you. Shouldn't you be pampering me since I am sick?" she burst out as she slapped his hand away.
Travis kissed her forehead and moved away, leaving a blushing Jillyanna on her bed. "I'm at fault for leaving you alone as well. You, getting sick scared me. I don't want this to happen again."
"This won't happen again. I won't inconvenience you next time." she retorted and slid back under the blanket to cover herself and to hide her face. She was really irritated at him.
Travis smiled and come closer again, sitting on her bed and caressed her hair. "I thought of something to make it more convenient for you and me. I can take care of you and I won't have to worry about you."
"What are you thinking?" she inquired and flipped to her other side so she can face him.
"I'm thinking of moving here."
"You're here already."
"Nope. What I mean is moving here in your room."
This shocked and scared Jillyanna at the same time. She couldn't allow anyone to sleep beside her when she sleeps naked. Naked! For god's sake!
"NO. NO. NO. It's a big NO! I can't have anyone sleep with me." she refused immediately while pinching his thigh right in front of her.
"Why not? We slept together already. I've seen your body many times. So why not?" his shamelessness was on par with hers. She couldn't find anything to refute.
"Whatever." she turned her back on him again and slid into the covers.
Travis kissed her head and left the room to cook her something. "I'll send your breakfast in a while." he stated when he was about to close the door. Jillyanna didn't answer.

I understand fully this story isn't for everyone as after all I am writing is still improving and that the story can get quite disturbing and gory at times. WARNING: despite the slow beginning does become very violent and gory as the story goes on. Images I have originally made are used in the stories, I also have a Wattpad where I upload only the images. Also a friend said it was a good idea to also upload this on Scribble Hub. Also, have exclusive stories I upload only on deviant art. Sometimes. When I remember.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
