Chasing After My Wife Chapter 72

Jillyanna stormed out of the cell room and walked towards the lobby where Travis was talking with Hawk.
"Why the long face? What happened?" Travis inquired, pulling her to his side and helped her wear the coat. The temperature was starting to drop and she needed to keep her body warm.
"I just heard someone's name. Shit! It's irritating me!" she cursed right in front of him and she didn't care at all.
"Calm down. You don't have to get angry." Travis rubbed her back but she looked at him with scrutiny.
"Hey Travis, who exactly are you?" Jillyanna asked him without any expressions.
Hawk and Savannah felt the tension in the air and they wanted to calm her down but Travis sent them a hand signal not to do anything. Lucian saw it as well so he just held Cielo in his arms.
"What do you mean who I am?" Travis played dumb and looked directly at her eyes.
"Don't play dumb with me! Lucian had been protecting me all these years and he just told me I can trust you beside him. Cielo would never force me to get married or involve myself in a relationship before but now, she thought things would be different if it's you. You said that you don't know Lorenzo Diaz, but he just insisted to me that I should trust you. So who exactly are you? How did you get them to say good things about you? Ha! It's funny that they didn't hear your words. I should have recorded those and let them hear it." she was gritting her teeth to keep herself from shouting at him. She really wanted to tell them the truth but whenever she remembered his words, her nose stings and she wanted to cry.

Travis could see that she was really angry at him. Her eyes were red and her nose as well. She looked like she was about to cry. Travis hugged her instead and patted her back. Jillyanna tried to get out from his embrace but he hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry if I didn't tell you anything. I have my reasons, too. But my feelings for you are true." he whispered in her ears but Jillyanna was even angrier.
"I don't care with what they see in you. I will never come to trust your words. I will never believe you." Jillyanna murmured on his chest just enough for him to hears.
Travis was hurt. He didn't know why she refused to believe him and it seemed like she heard something from him.
"I will prove to you that I am sincere." Travis stated, his heart broken but still determined to get her for his life.
Jillyanna pushed him away when he let down of his guard. "There's no need to prove anything. I am going back home. I am going back to my own house."
Travis became alert and went after her. He would never let her go. No matter what happens. She can hate him but he would never let her abort their child. That's the only link he has to tie her to him.
"I'll send you back to your house. I can't let anything happen to you." Travis mentioned while she was walking ahead of him.
Even though she didn't trust him, Travis smiled when he saw her got inside his car. 'I'll take things slow.' he noted mentally and followed her.
Savannah sighed and looked back to Cielo. "Your sister is a brave woman. I am glad she's with Travis."

"I am glad Travis is with her, too." Cielo responded with a smile. She turned to look at her husband and asked, "She didn't hate us for telling him to trust Travis, right?"
Lucian was silent and just smiled at her. He didn't know as well. There's a chance that she would.
Hawk, who had been silent this whole time, looked at them. "She didn't hate you. She was just agitated to learn that people were asking her to trust Travis. She didn't know anything about him and that made her insecure. Nonetheless, we will take care of her and keep her safe. We don't want our efforts to go down the drain if Travis lose her."
"Let's follow them." Savannah said and pulled Hawk back to the car.
"Can you bring Cielo with you? I got new leads from Enzo about the case I'm working on so I will be staying here." Lucian asked for a favor.
"Sure. Let's go Cielo." she linked her arms with her and pulled her to their car.
Hawk smiled after seeing her smile. It was always his mission to keep her safe. Maybe she didn't know but he made a promise to himself that he would never let anything to happen to her - his life.
On the other hand, Jillyanna was silent during the whole time. After realizing her sudden outburst, she felt embarrassed that she wanted to hide.
"Are you okay now?" Travis asked her while keeping his eyes focused on the road in front of him.
"Hn." Jillyanna responded.
"I will ask my friends to check on Lorenzo Diaz. I don't really know him personally but I will find out why he insisted you to trust me."
"Hn."
"I will tell you everything about me soon. I just needed to finish things up."
"Hn."
"Can you trust me until then?"
"Hn." she answered immediately but when his words sank in she rolled her eyes. "I will trust you once you tell me things about yourself."
"Just give me a month. I will settle everything in my end and I will properly introduce myself." Travis spoked in a low voice, soothing her nerves while focusing himself to drive.
"Let's have a proper talk once I get home." Jillyanna stated with a serious face.
"Whenever you say that, I get nervous." Travis retorted with a chuckle.
"Whatever." she rolled her eyes and turned her back on him. She needed to escape as soon as possible.

Series – Dice rolls, quests, and intriguing characters are only the tip of the spear. The Adventurer series includes playable game mechanics, maps, and more! Thrust into a world governed by tabletop RPG rules, Cire must survive an onslaught of wondrous and horrific challenges. His peculiar race, charismatic personality, and talent for turning negative situations sideways might just be the tools he needs to achieve his goals, or they may lead to his ruin. Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!
