Chasing After My Wife Chapter 68

At around 10 o'clock in the morning, Lucian and Cielo arrived at the rented house. They all looked at each other and looked back to the house. A smile suddenly spread on their faces.
'Jillyanna will be shocked to know the man she hooked up with.' That's what they thought.
Cielo once met Thomas Madrigal but she didn't know that Travis was actually his son. In Lucian's case, he knew that Travis was a multi-millionnaire and was helping them with the investigation of Elizabeth's murder case. He had wanted to let each other know of their identities but he thought it would be best to let them forget their past.
Who would expect that they would still meet? Who would have known that they would even have a baby soon? It was all so sudden that everyone was caught by surprise.
Lucian took out their gift and followed Cielo to the house. They haven't even knocked the door when it was opened by a bulky man with a woman standing beside him.
"Hi! We meet again." It was Savannah who spoke while the man gestured them to get inside.
"Yeah. This is my wife. She was the one who named the cafe. Her name is Cielo." Lucian stated which made Cielo frown. She didn't name the cafe! It was Jillyanna. What is he talking about?
But Cielo didn't say anything. She smiled and shook hands with them. "Nice to meet you. Thank you for looking after my sister."
"Not at all. Travis loves her so much. We need to keep her safe as much as possible." Savannah responded which made Cielo smile as well.
"Travis is in the study right now. Jillyanna is in her room. Please follow me." Savannah led them to the second floor while Hawk followed them behind.

Savannah was about to knock Jillyanna's room when Cielo stopped her. She knew that even if she's in someone else's house, her habit won't change.
"Yanna, I'm giving you 5 minutes." was all Cielo said which earned a questioning look from Savannah and Hawk but she didn't explain.
Soon, they heard someone clattering something inside. They could faintly make out of a shadow walking back and forth under the door slit.
Five minutes later, the door was opened by Jillyanna in a fresh set of clothes. Savannah and Hawk looked at each other with indescribable expression.
"Come in." she gestured them to get inside but only Lucian and Cielo came in. Savannah and Hawk turned around and left them alone.
"I miss you so much. I was so worried about what happened. I am glad that your man helped us." Cielo stated while hugging her tightly. "I am so glad you're safe."
"Sorry for worrying you." Jillyanna whispered with a guilty look.
"Yanna, do you know the father of your baby?" Lucian asked.
"His name is Travis. Why?" she asked him in return.
"Nothing. I am glad it's him. I know and I am confident he can protect you."
"Why are you speaking so kindly about him?" Cielo also asked Lucian. They all know that Lucian was overprotective to the both of them and he would never send Jillyanna to someone they didn't know for a long time.
"I had a long conversation with Lorenzo Diaz last night. There were some information he was holding back and would only talk to you about it." Lucian responded to them. "Do you know anything about the research your mom was doing?"
"Yes. Why?"
"It's something very important and it's a new lead but he wanted to talk to you first." Lucian added.

"You know what Bro, he never intended to harm me. He only wanted to do the things he wasn't able to do for my mother. I felt sorry for him but I am still glad that my mother married my father." Jillyanna stated with a sad face. No matter how she think of the event, her parents and Enzo didn't get the happy ending that they deserve.
"Speaking of, I found something related to your father. If you are ready to know about it, just tell me. I wouldn't want you to go through many shocking news or extreme emotions. We will be worried about you and your baby." Lucian informed her again. Even though she hated her father for leaving her and her mom, she still wanted to know the truth why he left.
However, she wasn't ready to face him yet. She released a heavy sigh and lied down on her bed with her arms spread open.
"Yanna, do you want to come home or do you want to stay here a bit longer? I mean, why don't you give Travis a chance? Wouldn't it be better if your child grows up with a complete family? Cielo suggested which gained an agreement from Lucian.
Jillyanna laughed dryly and with a mocking tone she said, "He won't be happy with this child. If I can't escape soon, I would be forced to abort this baby."
Travis stopped reaching for the door knob. His hand was shaking from her words. 'Just how much do you hate staying with me? You will even abort our baby? Great! Just great! I will never give you the chance to leave me or hurt our child.'
Instead of going inside, he turned around and went back to his study room where Valkyrie was waiting for him.
On the other hand, Cielo and Lucian was in disbelief. They knew Jillyanna was being pessimistic, she wouldn't trust anyone when it comes to love at all.
And they knew that Travis was being sincere to her, why can't she see it?
"I don't think Travis would hate your child." Cielo mumbled while caressing her face like she was her small sister.
"He will never do that. Enzo even told me that Travis is the only one who can protect you." Lucian commented while trying to recall their conversation. "He said that Travis is the only one you can trust outside the family. You can't trust any doctors that would approach you in the future. If anyone would come asking about your mother's research, only Travis can keep you safe and answer your questions."
This stunned her and made her so confuse with what's happening. Who exactly is Travis? Even if she has the power to investigate him, it wasn't her nature to pry on someone's life. Unless he would tell her personally. Which was why, until now, she only knew his name.

Zombies
This is one of three stories that I am offering as a test run. If you like it, then I'll choose to continue working on it. I have a whole plot line ready to explore! What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.
