Chasing After My Wife Chapter 64

Jillyanna's eyes widened when his lips touched her face, he looked like he wanted to say something but he slowly closed his eyes and leaned on her.
"Travis?" she called out to him softly as she pat his back but there was no response, only his faint breathing was audible in her ears.
She turned her head from side to side to see anyone who can help her. Brown, who saw what happened outside the car, was startled. He immediately got out and helped her.
"Thank you for helping me." Jillyanna whispered to him since she didn't want to wake up someone who looked so exhausted. Brown placed Travis at the back seat carefully.
"You have to get inside, too. We will all be damned if he wakes up and couldn't find you." Brown stated, gesturing her to get inside and sit next to Travis, where some devices were set up.
"I am sorry for causing you trouble." she responded before getting inside herself. When she was seated, Brown started checking on her to make sure she's fine. "You're a doctor?"
"Yes." A simple answer to her question. He checked on her pulse, checked her neck, arms and legs if there were any wounds or bruises, good thing to see, she's perfectly fine. "It's surprising that your abductor didn't hurt you. He didn't even contact anyone for ransom."
Hearing his side comment, Jillyanna looked towards the tip of Enzo's mansion, located not too far from them. "He couldn't hurt me because I am the daughter of the woman he loved. He doesn't need money as well."
"That makes sense." he nodded his head indicating his agreement.
Jillyanna was still looking outside the car when she saw Lucian walking towards their car once again. She wound down the car window to see him.

"Bro, can't I go home with you? I think I would be fine at home. You know what I mean?" she was pleading him with her eyes but he ignored her.
"Looks like you're fine. As I've said, we will visit you tomorrow. For the meantime, you have to rest properly. Going home with me, as much as I want to, you will only be bombarded with questions. Staying with him will ensure your safety." Lucian answered her.
"Bro, make sure that he will be fine. If you need a statement from me, I am willing to go." she commented which earned a confused look from Brown but he didn't say anything.
"I will inform you about this case tomorrow morning. You guys go on ahead. I will take care of this matter. Don't worry."
"Okay. Sorry for causing you trouble." she looked down and upset but she couldn't really help it. Who would've known that she will be abducted when all she wanted to do was escape from Travis?
After few more minutes of conversation,Valkyrie started the car. He has been silent all this time as he observed Brown on the mirror.
After their encounter in his room, they didn't get the chance to talk and Brown didn't like talking to him as well. He didn't even look at him.
Valkyrie sighed internally as he continued to drive the car. Brown was sitting beside him but was looking outside. Jillyanna was fiddling on her seatbelt while throwing some glances to the three men with her.
"Uhhh excuse me." Jillyanna called to them with hesitation.
"Yes?"
"Yes?"
Valkyrie and Brown answered together. Brown looked at her while Valkyrie just gave her a glance through the rearview mirror.
"I think this isn't the road to his house. I'm quite familiar with it." she informed since both men looked distracted with each other's presence which she found funny at the same time.

Brown was stunned as well as Valkyrie but they didn't show it on their faces. "We will be meeting with Savannah for a while. She was instructed to buy some foods since we haven't had our dinner yet. I apologize for not letting you know."
"Oh it's fine. Do you mind if I sleep for a while?" she questioned them but she was already closing her eyes without waiting for their answer.
When she wasn't looking at them, Brown pulled out his phone and sent Savannah a message.
SAVY, WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE BUY LOTS OF FOODS AND LET'S MEET UP AT THIS ADDRESS. DON'T ASK US ANY QUESTIONS. WE'LL BE THERE IN 15 MINUTES.
Attached to the message was an address for their meeting. It was because, they didn't know where Travis rented the new house. He mentioned it before but they neglected that information, thinking it won't matter in the future. Now, they regretted doing so.
They could only find a way to get into that address without alerting the woman who was sleeping soundly next to Travis.
Fifteen minutes later, Valkyrie stopped the car on a parking area where Savannah and Hawk were waiting.
Hawk got out of the car with Savanna beside him. Brown was the one who met with them since someone needed to stay to keep watch of the two sleeping figures in the car.
"Where's Jillyanna? Is she safe?" Savannah asked immediately as soon as she was within hearing distance from Brown.
"She's fine. No wounds or bruises. She's sleeping with Travis inside the car." Brown answered her with a faint smile.
"That's good to know. I have the food with me. So what's the matter?" she asked again. Hawk was just standing beside her quietly.
"Can you give us the address to the rented house? Looks like Jillyanna didn't know who he is yet. She told us to go back to the rented house and we don't know the address. We lied to her, that's why we have to meet you." Brown responded while scratching the back of his awkwardly.
"That's fine. I'll send you the address and we'll be following you behind. Just check your phone. I want to see Jillyanna as well."
After sending the address, Savannah and Hawk went back to their car. Brown jogged back to their own car as well and showed the address to Valkyrie without speaking to him.
They all went back to the rented house of Travis which was the place Jillyanna knew.

8 192I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
