Chasing After My Wife Chapter 62

Travis put on his vest while waiting for Brown to lock on Jillyanna's location. Brown's fingers danced across the keyboard after connecting Travis' phone on his laptop.
The red dot was no longer blinking which means the owner was not in danger.
"She's even calm while she's in this predicament. I salute to this woman." Valkyrie stated as he watched the laptop's screen.
"That means she knew who abducted her and she knew that person won't harm her." Brown responded before zooming in the location that he found.
"Who could it be? Lucian said it should be someone dangerous. That person isn't your rival, right?" Valkyrie joked at Travis which earned him a glaring look.
Valkyrie just laughed at him but he still turned serious when they found where exactly she was.
"She's in the middle of the forest? Are you sure it's a forest?" Travis questioned with a frown. 'How could she keep calm in the middle of a forest?' he asked mentally to himself.
"Well, that's what we have here. Unless the device is worn by a different person. But what would a person do in the middle of the night in this forest? Unless they were held hostage or kidnapped, right?" It was Brown who responded to his questions.
Without waiting for another second, be it Jillyanna or not, they have to find that person. How could she possibly have Jillyanna's belonging? Travis wanted an answer as soon as possible.
"Lucian, she's in the middle of the forest in the northern part of this city. It's a vast forest and there were few houses near it. The nearest house was one kilometer away from it. Disperse your men to different sides and be careful of traps. We don't know what surprises we'll face in this forest." Travis was calm and collected but in truth, his heart was beating fast.

He was afraid that it's he's too late. He's afraid that he would lose her. He didn't know why but thinking that she'd be gone left a deep hollow in his heart. He felt like he lost her before and losing her the second time would put an end to everything. He didn't want that to happen.
He got out from the car and moved with stealth as he glide to the dark alley following behind him was Valkyrie and Brown. Brown had some of his first aid kit just in case Jillyanna was wounded.
After few minutes of walking, stopping and observing, they reached the huge mansion at outskirts of the forest. It's architectural design was really nice and there were many red roses planted in the garden. It's like the scene from Beauty and the Beast.
Enzo just got home from the cabin and his heart was still in a mess. He felt so guilty and broken. He never intended to hurt her. He only wanted to see Elizabeth look at him with love once again, but the person he got didn't.
She looked like his love from the past but her actions, her voice and her words, they don't belong to the person he was looking for.
"She's Jillyanna. Remember the child Venus mentioned? It's her. She's Elizabeth's daughter, not Elizabeth. C'mon! Get your act together and free her!" he spoke to himself with so much anger.
"Do you think Elizabeth will forgive me?" he asked with a sad voice, in the verge of tears.
"If you knew she wouldn't forgive you, why didn't you stop yourself? You're an idiot!" his other self responded, angering him as well.
"Didn't I exist because you're a coward? If you took a step, if you went to look for her, if you aren't so weak that needed her protection, do you think she'd sacrifice herself for you! You are so dedicated to your research that you would often forget her! Did she complain? She didn't! You're the stupid and coward! Don't blame me! I am not existing in this world anymore!" he shouted at him, making him realize his mistakes and flaws.

The house sank in deafening silence that Enzo felt a deep void in his mind and heart. He blinked his eyes twice trying to hold back his tears. He never felt so hopeless and useless until this time.
He looked at his hands. The hands that he used to do his research had killed someone, forced someone to do his bid, abducted someone who was special to his love and almost cause her demise.
He stood up with his hunched back, he walked to his room and removed all pictures that were related to her except the picture that was taken back in college. He put them all together in a garbage bag and brought it to the backyard.
There's a big barrel there with a heap of ashes which showed he burned a lot of things in there. He put the garbage bag inside and pour a small amount of gasoline before throwing a lighted match, igniting it to flame.
"I am sorry Eliz. I am deeply sorry. I almost hurt your daughter. I am really sorry." he mumbled while looking at the yellow-red flame.
Travis with Valkyrie and Brown, saw a man throwing something on a big barrel. They waited for a few minutes before they saw him moved towards the forest.
Valkyrie moved quickly and took out some of the things that weren't burned yet. There pictures, stuff toys and jewelries. He picked a picture and looked at it.
"Who is it?" Brown asked beside him. Travis was watching the man to make sure not to lose sight of him.
"The picture was crossed out and the other half was burnt. Can't see who this is. Let's follow him." Valkyrie moved and tapped Travis' shoulder as they jogged through the forest.
It was dark in the middle of the forest. The only light they can use was the faint light of the moon. They could still see the shadows leading them to the middle of the forest and that man didn't seem to have known that he was being followed.

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.

Suddenly faced with the consequences of his actions, Saul is forced to make a difficult decision. And as he fights his own battle, dark forces descend upon Lucidia. Followed by a pair of glowing red eyes, a stranger appears in the night, visiting Falden with unfavorable intentions. Even worse, nameless assassins strike at the heart of the capital, leaving Eliza Zaryph, the black sheep of the ruling house of Lucidia, shouldering the burden of governing a kingdom that once turned its back on her. As the world marches toward chaos, their lives take a drastic turn. Will Saul abandon those he holds most dear? Will Eliza drown herself in the past? Or will they struggle against fate and seize the future with their own hands? Tomorrow remains uncertain. But the Sun will show them the way. Author's Note: Inspired by the Wuxia/Xianxia genre the magic system is comprised of cultivating through different Worlds of power, where each World offers more strength and abilities. Currently there are five Worlds known: Essence Practitioner, Essence Channeler, Essence Warrior, Essence Conquerer, and finally Essence Ruler. (And for the best reading experience I recomend altering your width setting to about 70 or 80 percent on desktop.) Table of Contents: Prologue Part 1: Homecoming (chapters 1-12) Part 2: Journey (chapters 13-25) About 70 percent complete. I'll update this figure over time and begin posting again after I finish it and go through several rounds of editing.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
