Chasing After My Wife Chapter 44

Jillyanna had her eyes closed but she was still conscious and alert of whatever might happen to her.
"Doc, please do a full body check on her. No matter how much it would cost." It was Travis who spoke with worry. A nurse was putting an IV drip on her and someone was also checking her pulse.
"Yes sir. Please sign this incase something happens we have your permission." This statement made Jillyanna open her wide in fear.
"I'm fine. Give me that paper. I am not related to that man so he can't decide my fate. My life is my business." Her words stunned everyone inside the room. She was already sitting on her bed with her hand reaching out to the doctor.
Travis made an eye contact with her but Jillyanna remained stationary and cold. The doctor was confused and was hesitating for a moment but she still handed her the paper in the end.
Jillyanna read what was written to make sure that nothing's wrong. She would never put herself at risk, specially her baby.
After signing it, she underwent several tests to make sure she's fine. Travis accompanied her silently all throughout the tests and would sometimes ask the doctor what should be avoided in the future.
"She needs to rest for now. You can discharge her tomorrow morning." the doctor stated after reading the test results to them.
Both Jillyanna and her baby were safe which was expected since it was just an acting. Jillyanna just rolled her eyes when nobody was watching her.
"Thanks a lot doc." Travis sent the doctor out leaving Jillyanna on her bed, lying still while watching the birds chirp outside her room.
When she was sent to different examination rooms, Jillyanna was observing her surroundings. She found out that her room was located on the third floor of the hospital which would be a bit difficult to jump off from where she was.

Travis came back with a sullen look and tired eyes but there was also relief and happiness flashing across his eyes from finding her.
"How are you feeling?" he asked her upon entering the room. He grabbed the chair and placed it beside her bed before he sat down.
Jillyanna stared at him but there was no emotions in her eyes. "I want to keep this baby."
"I want you to keep the baby as well." he moved closer to her and hold her hand with his. "Where were you these past few days? I couldn't find you anywhere."
"I was busy with some things." Lie. It was a lie again and Travis knew but he can't bring himself to expose her lies. He just smiled and kissed the back of her hand.
Jillyanna was uncomfortable with his actions, so she tried taking back her hand but he was holding her tightly.
"I'll go out and buy you something to eat. Is there anything you want?" Travis asked her with so much concern.
"I'm fine with anything." Jillyanna responded with a smile. It wasn't because he was concern of her but because he was going out. "I am indeed hungry."
"Just take a rest. I'll be back as soon as possible."
"Okay."
Jillyanna was like an obedient wife but her brain was working non-stop to formulate a plan.
When Travis left, he asked his men to stay outside her room and guard her. Jillyanna heard him gave orders but it didn't matter to her. She pulled the curtains together and closed off anyone from seeing her bed.
She tied her bedsheets together plus the curtains on the window to form a long rope of cloth.
She threw it down the building window as if she came down using it. Then she opened the bathroom door and hid herself behind it.

Ten minutes later, the men stationed outside the room thought it was strange that it was very quiet inside the room. They knocked a couple of times but no one answered.
Another knock came but Jillyanna remained quiet behind the bathroom door. She heard the door being pushed open and scattered footsteps came in.
"Oh mother of god! She escaped!" The first man to enter cursed upon seeing the rope of cloth outside the window.
"Alpha to Bravo and Charlie, young madam escape! Search the area and make sure to bring her back!" the second man reported to everyone using his earpiece. Travis heard the news, too.
He just got outside his car with the foods he bought when he received the news. He ran as fast as he could to go back to her room. His men were searching everywhere to find Jillyanna but he still went back to where she was.
He didn't open the door to her room instead, he waited outside with a calm face. He knew that she couldn't possibly be jumping off such high place because of the baby.
If there's anything that he believed in her, it was the truth in her eyes when she mentioned to him that she wanted to keep the baby.
A little while later, there were faint noises coming off from the bathroom. Travis didn't move but remained silent outside the room.
"What a bunch of fools! Did they really think I would jump off from this height?" Jillyanna mumbled to herself while checking her clothes for the last time.
Travis who heard her statement while standing outside let out a soft laugh. 'Indeed. My wife is a tough woman.' He thought to himself after recalling what Brown said earlier.
Jillyanna walked out of the room in a relax and carefree manner, confident that everyone was gone somewhere to find her.
"My men were fools. I'm glad I am not." This declaration made her stopped from her tracks and slowly, she turned to face Travis who was leaning on the door with a take out food in his hand.
"Why are you here?" she soon realized that her question was the most stupid question she ever uttered in front of him. Nonetheless, Travis answered her patiently.
"I heard you were gone. I was afraid and rushed back here. That's when I realized you can't possibly be jumping off from a high place so I return back to your room."
Helpless from being exposed, Jillyanna went back inside her room and acted like she didn't know what he was talking about. "Your men were idiots. I didn't escape. I was just inside the bathroom."
"I see. It was their fault for being idiots then." Lies. Even though he knew she was lying, he didn't say anything to her. He didn't get mad at her but his heart was cold and fear coated his heart in another layer.
He will never allow her to escape. Not now that he found her.

Ps. There are game elements here Disclaimers and warnings: - This story uses clichés. Like, lots of it. - I am not a native English speaker, so my grammar may not be best (It actually is pretty horrible). First 80 or so chapters are a true butchery for eyes and I admit it. Shouldn’t I correct them then? I should. Why am I not doing it? Who knows. Maybe one day I will. - This story is pretty much an experiment. I try different perspectives, different styles, I can make some random Deus-ex-machina if I would consider that I made mistake in the story and decide to change it. - This story is written for pure fun, if you expect some mind-blowing plots and conspiracy of top-level authors – then you will be most likely disappointed. - Easter eggs. Easters eggs everywhere. Every now and then you will be able to spot single events, characters and lines of text that belong in different stories/mangas/movies/books and such. Of course, they do not belong to me but to the owners, though I am not listing them – I am sorry, but if you need to be told from where line comes, we won’t be friends. - And finally. The story is written for you and WITH YOU. If you have any suggestions, events, characters, skills, class… ANYTHING… you wish to see, please – tell me. In best case scenario I would use them, in worse – I would just not implement them, so what do you lose? Guyz I owe my thanks for their contribution: KenChi?
