Chasing After My Wife Chapter 37

Travis finally picked up the phone lifelessly. His voice was lazy and exhausted which made Diego frown.
"What's wrong with you?" Diego asked him with a bit of concern but he immediately remembered the purpose of his call. "I have a good news for you."
"What is it? I don't have much time now. I still have to find her so hurry up." Travis retorted with annoyance and as he drove his car back to the rented house.
"Who are you looking for? Jillyanna?"
"Yes. She actually visited the house and left the keys. I just a bad feeling. I need to find her as soon as possible."
"What the hell? How could that possibly be happening? I thought she'd come running to you and move your marriage earlier." Diego stated with disbelief which confused Travis.
"What are you talking about?"
Diego cleared his throat and told him what he found yesterday which he forgot to tell him due to many things going on. "This is what happened. I visited my mother yesterday at the Senyu Medical Center and I saw Jillyanna walking towards the hospital alone when I was about to leave."
"Just get to the point." Travis insisted to save his time while driving to the places where he and Jillyanna went to.
"I need to tell you the details. No more no less." Diego snapped at him before continuing, "So, I followed her. I saw her went inside a consultation room but not long after, the doctor accompanied her to a different department. I saw her talk with Cheska."
"Cheska? Cheska Suarez? Ob-gyn? What was she doing there with her? Do they know each other?"
Diego laughed at his questions. "I never thought losing her would make you dumb." He joked but still continued his story. "I went inside to Chesks's office to confirm something..." he recalled what happened during his findings yesterday.

He saw Jillyanna came out of the consultation room with an envelope and a sweet smile on her lips. It was a genuine happiness reflecting her face.
When she was out of his sight, he stepped inside Cheska's office which startled her a bit. "What are you doing here?" Cheska asked but her smile can't hide her happiness.
"Visiting you and mom." he walked around her desk and gave her a peck on her lips.
"I'm glad to see you here. Have you eaten?" Cheska asked him softly. She was sitting on her swivel chair and Diego was leaning his hips on her desk facing her.
"Just wondering if it was someone I know. Did someone named Jillyanna Madrid come for a check up?"
Cheska was surprised that he knew one of her patients. Her surprise turned to doubts and she pinched his waist.
"Why do you know her? She is not your woman right?" Cheska glared at him since everybody knew what a womanizer this person in front of her was. But it was not everyone who knew that those girls were paid to act as his woman for the sole purpose of hiding their relationship including Travis.
Diego kissed her again to lighten up her mood before responding. "That was Travis's woman."
"Oh really? So Travis must be the father of her child. She's a month pregnant and was planning to surprise him." Cheska said excitedly.
"I see. I'll keep it a secret, then."
That was why Diego didn't mention it to him until today. He thought Travis must have known after a day but he never heard anything from him which was weird. So, he decided to let him know tonight.
"Diego, you are my best friend. I helped you and Cheska hide your relationship. Don't you dare play bullshits with me." Travis was getting even more frustrated and angry. Blue veins popped out of his temple and his face was red from anger.

"Do you think I'm crazy? I wouldn't dare play a prank on you! Cheska would be coming here tonight. You can ask her if you want."
"Thank you. I'll go search for her."
"Do you need my help?" Diego asked knowing that this was a crucial moment specially that Jillyanna was carrying his child.
"I would really appreciate it." Travis responded. They discussed about their plan to locate her and ended the call after they finished talking.
Left with no other choice, Travis called Brown to do a quick search and block her from leaving the country.
Everyone was shocked when they received the news. Not only them, people that they had contacted to help them search for a single woman were surprised as well. They didn't even do this when looking for his auntie's daughter.
It was so intense that even Thomas can't understand why his son was doing it. He gave him a call and scold him but Travis didn't listen to him at all. His mind has only one thought - find her and bring her home.
Jillyanna didn't know what's going on and she was busy packing her things. She had finally decided to leave the country and stay away for good.
The next day, Jillyanna distributed the groceries to her neighbors to avoid them getting spoiled since she had decided to leave as soon as possible. She didn't want to keep the groceries knowing that she couldn't finish them all in a few days.
At the same time, in the Madrid's family villa, a man and a woman came looking so elegant yet professional. The guard checked on them and found nothing dangerous so he called the house owner for permission.
"Just let them in." Lucian was the one who answered since he was off duty that day. Alex was trimming the plants at the backyard so he didn't know that someone visited them. Sky was out to buy groceries with Cielo.
"Good day." Hawk greeted Lucian and showed him his certificate to let him know that they were law-abiding citizens.
Lucian checked it and returned it to him. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
It was Savannah who pulled out a sketch of Jillyanna and showed it to him. "We are looking for her."
Lucian was stunned to see the drawing and he was nervous of what might be the crime his sister was involved in.
Savannah smiled and took back the drawing. "I believe she isn't here right now. Don't worry, she isn't involved in any crime."
"So what is going on? What do you need her for?" Lucian stated calmly but he was deeply nervous for his sister-in-law.
"Our friend wanted to find her. She's pregnant with his child but she left without a trace."

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**
