Chasing After My Wife Chapter 29

Jillyanna and Eliezer finished their food after an hour of conversation. "You don't really want me to check your health?" he asked her while helping her clean the table.
"I'm really fine." Jillyanna waved her hand to drop the matter. "Thanks for reminding me about the groceries. I'm running out of stocks already."
"Do you want me to help you shop? I'm free for the whole day." he volunteered himself which Cielo agreed almost instantly for the development of their relationship.
"Right sis. Why not have him go with you? In that way, you can catch with the time you're not around and he can look after you in case you'll pass out again." Cielo spoke up from her desk while she typed replied on some inquiries for franchising.
"If it's fine with you, I can really accept such help. I need a lot for the house." Jillyanna commented before returning the utensils to the trolley.
"That's it then. I'll come with you." Eliezer responded with a smile. He can only secretly like her since Jillyanna didn't want to be in a relationship. He had known about it for a long time. It's also the reason why he can't tell her how he feels. He didn't want to lose the friendship they had built for so many years. He didn't want to take the risk.
Jillyanna talked to Cielo for a while about some business expansion to different cities. Cielo also informed her about the franchising inquiries and sent her the details so that she can review it at home.
"I'll be staying at the old house for the time being. I'll be back next week probably. I've got pending works and I'm trying to think of some serious matters. Don't worry, I'll visit you here. I'll call you as well." Jillyanna kissed her sister's cheek before leaving.

"Make sure you eat on time." Cielo reminded her once again which made Jillyanna smile and nod her head.
Eliezer had his driver leave the cafe earlier so that he can spend some alone time with her. "I'll be troubling you for a lift."
"What are you talking about? You are going to help me buy some groceries. It's better that we go to a supermarket together." Jillyanna responded before opening her car. Eliezer hopped in on the passenger seat before placing his stuff at the back seat.
"It's a surprise that you are not out of the country this time." he opened up after closing the door. It's known to their circle of friends that Jillyanna would spend most of her time studying cultures and business management all over the world. So it was a shock to them that she's actually staying.
Jillyanna drove the car out of the parking lot before answering him. "I'm just staying temporarily. I'll have to go back to France after a few months. I got it delayed for some personal reasons."
"Don't you want to stay here?" he asked her with a little sadness in his voice. If she's around, he'll get more chances with her. But if she wasn't, there's little to no chance at all.
Jillyanna glanced at him before giving him her beautiful smile. "Maybe 2 or 3 years from now. I'll settle in here."
Eliezer just smiled back at her. He could wait for her. He will wait for her until she's ready to settle down.
Not long after, they arrived at the largest supermarket in the area. Jillyanna took her bag and got out of the car. Eliezer followed right after her.
"Oh my gosh! I totally forgot!" she exclaimed upon realizing the scheduled dinner with Travis.

"Is it something so important?" Eliezer asked while getting a push cart for her groceries.
"Not really but I might as well give him a call to postpone our appointment." Jillyanna rummaged her bag to look for her phone. She called Travis right away, but he wasn't answering her.
"Is there anything you'd like me to get while you're on the phone? Fruits? Veggies?" Eliezer inquired at her.
"I need fruits, veggies, milk, bread and some meat." Jillyanna responded. They walked from aisle to aisle to get the things they needed. After a few minutes, Jillyanna's phone rang. Travis' name was on the notification bar.
"Sorry I was taking a shower." Travis spoke immediately which made Jillyanna raised her brow.
"It's fine. Can we move our dinner to one hour later? I still have some things to do."
"Sure. We'll have it by 9 o'clock tonight, then. Would you like me to pick you up? It's late and you're a woman after all."
"No need. I can manage. See you tonight."
"Yanna, do you like this or this?" Eliezer's voice was still caught on the mouth piece when she was about to end the call.
Travis who heard his voice was stunned for a moment. His blood was boiling and his gaze was dark. He was no longer in the mood for dinner.
"She was with another man? And he was acting all sweet with her? How dare she!" Travis smashed his phone on the wall from so much anger.
Thinking about her with another man made him go mad like an insane devil. He didn't want anyone to get close to her.
He sat on his bed with just a towel wrapped around his waist. He even prepared himself for the dinner that he was looking forward to.
"Damn it!" he cursed himself and stood up to get a new phone from his drawer. "Am I doing the right thing? What if I actually find her? What am I going to do?"
Travis started getting confused with his decision. He knew to himself that finding his auntie's daughter should be the topmost priority, but now, he was afraid to see her. He was afraid that everything will change because of her.
'So this should be the last time then? It's funny that she knew I wouldn't last two months in pursuing her.' Travis laughed mockingly to himself. He realized that he was indeed irresponsible. Maybe he found her interested because she's got the same name as her.
"I'm going crazy!" Travis slapped his face twice to wake himself from this nightmarish situation. He needed to think clearly.
However, love is irrational. You cannot just think about it. You have to feel it. Even if you think about the consequences, the other party involved and other factors, that type love might still be wrong or maybe right. Nobody can tell. But the least you can do is to be honest.

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!

A Requiem For The End
Yuga wakes up on a cold, frigid land entirely covered in snow. Where was he? Who was he? Neither of these could he remember but he didn't have time to think of it, he could tell danger wasn't far. A quick death if he failed to avoid it. It was fast approaching and much as he tried to escape, it quickly caught up with him. Luckily he had survived, but was he just lucky or was there something more to him.....? A Requiem For The End is a fantasy story set in a world.......well, quite different from most stories you might have seen (I honestly don't know how to better describe it). Early into the story (prologue) the world feels elusive because you slowly learn about it through the eyes of Yuga. As you read on questions may arise in your mind and mysteries will present themselves. The answers to them will come the further you read. I'd like to think the plot is a bit larger than the average and same goes for the world building. If you find this story intriguing then all I can say is - There's a lot for me to tell, hop on?
