Chasing After My Wife Chapter 17

Travis drove the car back to Ganzani Bay so that Jillyanna can pick up her car and go home. He didn't let her start the car yet until he finished his inspection to make sure that no one had touched her car or did something which would cause her harm.
"Your car is good to go. Nobody rigged on it." Travis fasten her seatbelt for her like it was natural for him to do so.
Jillyanna didn't feel awkward of what he was doing but she leaned back to give him some space. "Thanks for checking it. I'll go home now. I'll text you if I have time. Take care on your way back." Jillyanna started the engine after Travis closed her door.
"Send me a message once you get home for me to know you're safe." Travis responded to her.
"Okay. Bye now." Jillyanna waved her hand and started maneuvering the car out of the parking lot.
Her eyes were focused on the road but a she was also checking if anyone was following her. She had been feeling that someone was stalking her lately.
That encounter at the cemetery, she believed it wasn't really Savannah.
When she faced Savannah that time, even though she retaliated against her, there was no malice or any bad motive in her eyes. However, Jillyanna could feel that the person who was stalking her definitely want to harm her.
Travis left the place once Jillyanna's car was out of his sight. He looked up at the dark sky with stars sparkling like how Jillyanna's eyes sparkle when she smiled.
'She's really interesting. She's the first woman to spark my interest for opposite sex.' Travis thought as he drove his car back to the rented house.
When Jillyanna got home, everyone was already asleep. She immediately took a shower and wrapped her body with a robe. She took out her phone and sent him a message as she promised.

I GOT HOME SAFELY. THANKS FOR ACCOMPANYING ME TONIGHT. GOOD NIGHT.
That was the text she sent to him which made Travis sat up straight on his bed. He was currently checking on some paperworks that he wasn't able to finish that day when he received her message.
A smile started to form on his lips while typing his reply. I AM GLAD YOU'RE SAFE. GOOD NIGHT.
When Jillyanna received his response she was getting ready to sleep after finalizing her schedule for the next two days. But sometimes, even when you made plans, it's bound to change.
The next day, Jillyanna woke up early and started her morning exercise and combat training with Lucian who came to visit them. Lucian would train them at least twice or thrice a week to help them defend themselves.
Sometimes, Jillyanna would go to the training camp with Lucian's father or Lucian's uncle to train with the police officers.
"You're becoming quick and swift with your actions. If Dad finds out you're progressing rapidly, he would want to invite you as a training officer once again." Lucian commented while sparring with her.
They've been fighting for almost an hour already. Cielo was the first one to engage in a fight while Jillyanna was doing some basic exercise. When they built the house, they made sure to have a huge room packed with exercise equipments.
"If uncle is here, I will act clumsily." Jillyanna laughed at her comment since she knew that would surely irritate Lucian's father. He didn't like people acting weak when they're strong but for Jillyanna and Cielo, he was very lenient towards them.
"He won't fall for it but he won't be upset either. Anyway, this is the last round. I have to report to the office early today." Lucian responded while trying to get a jab on Jillyanna's shoulder, but she was quick to avoid it and landed a punch on Lucian instead.

"Fine. Let's stop now. I want to leave earlier today as well. I have schedules piling up."
"You plan for your own work, why don't you put some day off once in a while." Cielo commented as she helped her take off her gloves and passed it to Lucian.
"I did. Though most of my day off was also spent sleeping or reading notes." Jillyanna answered while wiping her sweat.
"Fine. Fine. You did. Anyway, are you sure you're coming with me?" Cielo asked her which she meant about going to Summer Cafe.
"Yeah. I have it scheduled today. I'll visit the cafe whenever I have time and see if there's any adjustments to make." It's not because Cielo wasn't proficient with her work, but sometimes she felt that she let Cielo do everything on her own and she felt guilty about it.
Cielo rubbed her head messily while speaking. "You don't have to be guilty towards me or to feel worry towards the cafe. It's ours. I am responsible for it as well."
Lucian approached the two of them after returning all the things they used on their proper place.
"Both of you are capable. I am sure the cafe won't suffer." Lucian stated towards them. "In any case, let's go out for breakfast so we can go to work after."
They both nodded their heads and followed Lucian out of the room. They ate their breakfast cheerfully with Lucian who had so many actions stuff to say. It was never boring in their house unless she's alone in her room.
Jillyanna drove her car with Cielo since they're going together to Summer Cafe. Lucian left for work as well since his father had called him to report before 9:00 o'clock in the morning.
Jillyanna and Cielo arrived at the cafe which surprised many employees. Since Jillyanna came back, she had visited the cafe twice already. Before, she would only visit the cafe at least once every two months.
"I forgot something in the car. Let me go back and get it." Jillyanna jogged her way back to the car. She almost reached her car when she saw a man clutching his chest.
"Sir, are you okay?" she reached out to him and when the man turned to face her, the moment she saw his face she was utterly shocked and surprise. "My gosh uncle Thomas. It's you. What's going on?"
Thomas gave her the key to his car which Jillyanna opened immediately. She found his medicine on the box and gave it to him.
"I'm sorry you have to see me in this manner." Thomas mumbled after taking some pills.
"Come on uncle. You should have called me. What if something happened to you? Didn't I tell you to call me if you're going somewhere without your son? Geez! As always, your son is irresponsible." Jillyanna scolded him and said some harsh words against his son, but she was gently holding him and brought him to the cafe.
This was the man who cared for them when her father left. It was him and Venus who would visit them in their isolated house. It was them who comforted her when she was left alone in this world.
This was the reason why she cared for him as well. After all, both of them were left behind by the person they loved the most.

I am currently studying my degree at a University so I'll continue to edit and write more chapter whenever it's convenient for me to do so (which is like, all the times haha).
