Pokemon: Master Of Tactics Chapter 11

Alex closed his door to his room and thought over how he should train Zubat.
The improvement of Pokémon's strength depends on two factors. The first one being the physical fitness of the Pokémon, and the second one being the Moves mastery.
Pokémon's physical fitness can be divided into six factors: HP, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense, and Speed.
Pokémon's Moves mastery can be divided into three levels: Beginner, Expert, and Master.
Both the physical fitness and moves mastery can be improved with special training.
Let's say, for physical fitness training, you can ask your Pokémon to run at full speed for an hour. If you do it often enough, then your Pokémon will be faster than Pokémon of the same race that did not do such training.
Moves mastery can be improved if you use a move often in training or in combat. For example, Zubat's Shadow Ball was so slow, small, and weak because his move mastery of Shadow Ball was only at the Beginner rank. But if Zubat does this move 50 or even 100 times every day, it won't take long until his Shadow Ball is normal in strength, speed, and size.
Of course, every Pokémon is different. For move mastery, it is important to have good potential.
The better the potential the Pokémon has, the faster the Pokémon masters the move.
How to improve Pokémon's combat strength? There are two ways. The first is to fight against other Pokémon, and the second is to train (Moves mastery & physical fitness).
If a Pokémon increases its combat strength, its level rises. If a Pokémon is over LV 40, the Pokémon is considered an Elite Pokémon, and the trainer who owns such a Pokémon is called an Elite trainer.
But not every Pokémon can become an Elite Pokémon. Pokémon with a potential of Normal can only reach LV 39 max. And don't forget, the lower the potential, the lower ones leveling up speed.

Bronze Pokémon max. LV is 49.
Silver Pokémon max LV is 60.
Gold Pokémon max LV is 75.
Potential: Normal, Bronze, Silver, Gold, ???
Alex thought, "Zubat and his evolved-form Crobat are assassin-type melee Pokémon, especially Crobat. It is logical to train Zubat this way early. Let Zubat master a few more long-range moves too. Getting into hand-to-hand combat isn't always the best option for Pokémon like Zubat.
"Ok, I will train Zubat special for speed tomorrow. Speed is one of the most important stats for Zubat now. If he is fast enough, he can execute a hit & run tactic. Of course, even if he is much faster than other Pokémon, some moves can hit Zubat."
While Alex was lost in thought, he heard a knock on the door.
When he opened the door, Alex saw the same Team Rocket Lackey again, with a package with him. Alex received the package and closed the door.
The package included 3 Ultra Ball, 3 Team Rocket member suits, TM (Protect), 10 Energy Powder, and 10 bottles of Tauros's blood.
Zubat, who was bored sitting on Alex's shoulder, saw the Tauros's blood and started flying around excitedly in the room. After a few seconds, he calmed down and landed in front of Alex with a begging expression ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ.
"Pokémon are so cute," thought Alex in his heart.
Alex: "HAHA! Ok, Zubat. I'll give you one of Tauros's blood bottles. But before that, I want you to do Shadow Ball 50 times. Also, be careful that you don't hit anything with it. I also want you to try to make the Shadow Ball as fast as you can without losing strength or stability."
Zubat nodded and looked at Alex seriously, then he flew straight to a spot in the room with the most open space and started practicing Shadow Ball.

Alex watched as Zubat made a slightly faster Shadow Balls. His Shadow balls are getting a little faster every time Zubat uses them. Although the progress got slower after 50 shadow balls, his Shadow Balls were 1 second faster than before (3s total). Now Zubat can make a shadow ball in 2s.
Suddenly, a thick smell of blood pours through the room when Alex opened the Tauros Blood. He placed the bowl of Tauros's Blood in front of the exhausted Zubat, and he also praised Zubat for his hard work.
"What a crazy day," thought Alex.
He put his exhausted body on the bed and fell asleep immediately.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Paternum: A Superhero Story
When Quinn finds an experimental superpower-granting costume in their parents’ attic, they didn’t expect to be drawn into a web of superhuman intrigue, but their discovery serves as the catalyst for that conspiracy to slowly unravel. At it’s heart, Paternum is an extended coming-of-age story for the main character as they become a superhero, in a world with more reasonable stakes and less powerful heroes than many superheroic worlds. Themes include what art means to different people, and what it means to be a patron, whether as a sponsor, a parent, or a supporter. I consider Paternum‘s primary influences to be the various versions of Spider-Man, J. C. McCrae’s own superhero story Worm, and Drew Hayes’ story SuperPowereds. I hope that fans of such stories can find something to enjoy in mine as well. Paternum is primarily hosted on my website (thevoidwrites.com) where it updates weekly in groups of scenes totalling approximately 2000 words. Here on Royal Road, it will update once daily with one scene at a time, but only after each act is completed on the home site - the next batch of updates is scheduled to begin on February 5th. There is a discord channel for discussion (discordapp.com/invite/QFMM6yA), and you can vote for Paternum on topwebfiction (topwebfiction.com/vote.php?for=paternum) as well. Finally, you can buy the first book of Paternum, The Swift Uplifting Rush, in a couple different ways - as an ebook through Amazon, or directly from me for a discounted price, or as a physical paperback from Amazon. Buying the book will give you access to Drawing Hands, an exclusive arc that won't ever be published on either my site or Royal Road.
