Hello, Mr Li: The Christmas Trip Chapter 67

"Kids, it's time to return to your rooms." Sara said to her children who still stubbornly shook their little heads in refusal.

"Can we spend the night here?" King asked, pouting as he added, "Please?"

"Why? You don't like sharing with your cousin?" Muchen, who was busy typing something on his laptop asked. He was on the bed with his back on the headboard while Sara was busy trying to send their kids away since their nanny was already waiting for them.

"I don't like staying in the same room but him. He is too noisy. Far worse than her. And they are always fighting." He said, pointing at his older sister, Queen.

Li minde's son took his father's sunny personality. He was always cheerful and liked to play whether or not the other person was interested in playing with him. King, who liked to keep to himself didn't like him very much. But unlike him, his sister was best of friends with their second cousin. Only thing is, they were times when she always fought with him. Even though she was cheerful sometimes, she was scary and rough some other times.

"Fight? I don't fight!" Queen said in her defense.

"You do fight all the time with him!"

"Mum, Dad. Do not believe him." She looked from their mother to their father. Both were watching them argue.

"There were only a few times I beat him up but that was it. I do not fight with him all the time!"

"Queen, you have to stop doing that. You cannot keep beating up your cousin. You are supposed to bea big sister to him and King here. Aunt Eva isn't happy about that." Sara scolded her daughter sternly. If she was showing a little remorse, then she wouldn't have been this pissed at her little daughter.

"It's not my fault I am stronger than him. They should teach him how to fight. Right daddy?" Oblivious to her mother's displeasure, Queen asked, smiling at her father since she knew he was going to take her side.

Muchen looked at his daughter and then at his wife who was glaring daggers at him as if she was challenging him to dare take her side.

He cleared his throat awkwardly before saying, "Kids, you should return to your rooms now. It's already very late and past your bedtime. And do not fight!"

"But..."

"Just listen to me. I'll buy you whatever you want, hmm?" Muchen said when King was about to protest again.

"Tch! What a nice father you are." Sara rolled her eyes and went to sit on the couch.

Both kids pouted sadly. King— because he wouldn't get to sleep here but was returning to their noisy room, while Queen, because her father hadn't taken her side but was dismissing her instead. Their nanny smiled in relief when they finally walked towards her and bowed to greet the couple before opening the door.

"Good night." The kids said at the same time.

"Good night." The parents said back.

Once it was just the two of them, Sara glared at her husband. "You turned that girl into a spoilt brat!" Sara complained.

"Which girl?" He asked, putting his laptop aside to give his full attention to his wife.

"Do not act smart with me right now. You always take her side and that is the reason she can do whatever she wishes. She is already 10! You cannot continue like that."

"What? I didn't do anything! When did I take her side just now?" He said in his defense.

"This is not about right now. It's difficult for her to make friends now because she scares most of them away."

"Alright! That isn't my fault and neither is it hers. She spends a lot of time with your parents and practically acts like her." Muchen reminded her.

"And it's your fault! You were the one who agreed for her to always go visit them—"

"Because she said she wants to be a chef! I am just supporting my daughter's dreams, come on."

Sara sighed in defeat. "Why do you always have an answer to everything?"

He chuckled, leaving the bed to meet his wife where she was standing before leading her to the dressing table. After she sat down, he bagan to slowly massage her shoulders.

"I'm sorry for making you yell so much." He said, smiling at her through the mirror.

She sighed again.

"What are we going to do? If she continues like this, it's going to be difficult for her to make friends in the future. What if... she doesn't find a boyfriend." Sara said, looking genuinely worried.

"Why are you talking about a boyfriend when she is just 10?" He frowned.

"Hello? Your daughter is growing fast and at some point, she is going to fall in love." She reminded him while looking at him like he was some kind of dummy.

"Look, I don't think it's much of a big deal. If that's her nature, why should just let her be. She probably got your mother's genes and everyone can see how much your father loves your mother."

"This is different! I'm sure my mother wasn't scary when she was 10 and she didn't take fighting classes. Imagine when Queen is 20 years old and let's say she is working in the company or in father's restaurant, not only is she probably going to be acting like my mother, you know she has been taking fighting classes since she was 4, plus that little girl has a temper!"

"She took after you so why are you complaining?" He asked. "You have a terrible temper and can also fight pretty well. But you were able to snag a handsome hotshot like me..." He grinned, "Talk about my daughter who is far prettier and cooler than you. She would be able to get anyone she wants. Trust me." He winked at her and laughed when he saw the frown on her face like she wanted to strangle him.

"Babe, you are just thinking too much. Our kids are going to be fine."

"I don't think I am thinking too much. I also worry about King. He's too introverted."

"Calm down darling." Muchen left her shoulders and pulled her up. He led her to the bed this time and when she sat down, he sat down beside her and hugged her. "They are going to be fine, trust me."

"Raising kids is so stressful! I never want to have another kid!" She swore in a loud voice before collapsing on the bed.

"Really?" He asked and began to wiggle his brows suggestively.

"REALLY!" She said with determination before sitting up to glare at him, "And that's final!"

Muchen was about to say something else when his phone rang. He stood up and head towards the other side of the bed where he was sitting earlier to pick up his phone. It was a call from his secretary at work so he answered it immediately.

The call didn't last for up to a minute before it ended. He quickly checked the link he received and frowned.

"What is it?" Sara asked, walking towards him.

He handed the phone over to her to see it.

She looked at the texts on the screen before her eyes widened.

"This... how...?"

"Un..cle... Jai-me?" Hoy said in surprise before looking behind him to see three pair of eyes staring at him in shock. His actions just now had shocked them to stupor.

He quickly let go of the surprised Jaime's shirt and looked around awkwardly. His face was burning bright from embarrassment.

"Care to explain what that was just now?" Cixi stood up from the bed to ask with a frown on her face. "You just manhandled my husband, at least, you should explain what you did that for." She said, still frowning while looking at his face. He looked confused, lost and deep in thought.

"Uhm... I.... it's a misunderstanding. I thought someone was hurting someone in this room and wanted to help."

The four people looked at each other. Three seemed to catch on but one seemed really slow.

"Someone was hurting someone?" Joreen asked.

"You just barged in here and almost hit my dad!"

Hoy looked at her. She looked like blood had drained from her face. He could only imagine how scared he had made her.

"I'm sorry." Hoy said with a deep bow directed at Jaime and Cixi.

"Haha! You don't need to apologize about anything. You were just being a kind person amd wanted to help those in trouble right?" Hoy was almost nodding amd agreeing with Jaime but he frowned when Jaime began to say more.. "...It's not like you knew this was Jo's room and thought someone else was here with her so you got angry. You were just being nice." The man grinned before patting Hoy's shoulders.

Cixi and Reen were doing their best not to laugh while Joreen was busy staring at Hoy with love in her eyes. 'He is so cool. Even trying to save a complete stranger.' Joreen thought within herself.

(I'm face-palming right now)
