Gan Dewei was pouring the alcohol in the glass when his phone started ringing. He looked at the phone screen and saw his father's name was flashing on it. "He again started calling me," mumbled Gan Dewei and cut the call. He grabbed the glass and sipped the drink.

His phone again rang and this time his stepmother was calling him. "She thinks I will answer her call?" chuckled Gan Dewei and let it ring. He continued drinking while his stepmother kept calling him. Finally after 20th call, he answered her call.

"Y-you know that I hate you. Still you dare to call me so many times. My life is already destroyed by you but I guess you will not stop here. Do you want me die? Sorry, that thing will never happen because I promised myself that I will live for my mother. Just enjoy your life with your son and don't ever call me," Gan Dewei asserted with an angry tone.

He was going to cut the call when from the other side the person spoke, "I am Ru Shi. What are you talk-talking about?" she asked. Gan Dewei put down the phone and looked at the name. It was Ru Shi.

"Why did you call me?" Gan Dewei asked.

"I called to say sorry. Today is your birthday and I said some harsh words to you." Ru Shi stated.

"It is over now," Gan Dewei snapped at her.

"No, there is still half an hour left. So, your birthday is still there. I got angry as I had some college works. I hope you won't take them to heart. And that question I asked because Chang told me that you are not behind my father's murder. I mean… umm-" Ru Shi stopped speaking and scratched her head with a finger. "I am out of words. I do not know how to say?" muttered Ru Shi.

"Will you meet me?" Gan Dewei asked and put the glass down on the table.

"It is late," Ru Shi said. "I do not think-"

Gan Dewei cut her words and said, "I am coming over to your place. You do not need to go anywhere. I will be there in 15 minutes." Saying this he hung the call. Ru Shi called him back but he did not answer.

"I should not have called him. Oh no," murmured Ru Shi. She got up from the chair and paced in her room for a while. "They all are sleeping and if I will go at this time then…but if I won't go then he will come here. I am stuck. I should try again calling him," Ru Shi to herself and then again dialed Gan Dewei's number but he did not answer her call.

This panicked her and she started biting her nails. She looked at the time which was showing 11.40pm. "Oh no he will be here in 5 minutes," murmured Ru Shi and went to the cupboard. She took out a long coat, put the pen in her hand inside it and walked out of her room.

Quietly she went towards the door. "Please God save me this time. Please," said Ru Shi while joining her hands and opened the door without making any noise and sneaked out.

She went towards the elevator and hit the elevator's button. It opened up and she stepped into it. "Snow has started falling. Why one earth I called him?!" Ru Shi cursed herself in the mind. She looked at her phone and saw the time. '2 minutes' she read and waited for elevator to reach at the ground floor.

Finally it reached and she quickly stepped out of it. She ran outside to see if Gan Dewei has reached there or not and to her surprise he indeed arrived there in just 15 minutes. He was standing in front of his car and the snow flakes over falling over him. She ran to him.

"Why did you not answer my call? You just came here in this fall? What if something would have happened?" muttered Ru Shi in anger when she got the smell of alcohol from him. If was such a strong smell and it was indicating as if he had drunk a lot.

She looked into his eyes which were red. She for the first time felt somewhat strange in her heart seeing him like that. "Why did you drink so much and then you drive the car? What if something would have happened?" she said in a low voice and lowered her gaze. Gan Dewei grabbed her hand and made her sit inside the car. "It is cold," he said and then closed the door. From the other side, he got inside and then turned on the warmer inside the car.

"Why did you call me when I was alone?" Gan Dewei finally spoke, turning his head to him.

"What?" Ru Shi exclaimed and then looked into his eyes. "I told you already. That I wanted to apologize as I got angry on you that too on your birthday. No one should be treated badly on their birthday," asserted Ru Shi and looked outside the window.

"Do you also think me as a criminal and notorious guy?" Gan Dewei questioned.

"Huh?" Ru Shi mumbled and looked at him.

"You seem drunk. How will you go home in this state?" Ru Shi asked.

"Just answer my question. Do not change topics. I am not that drunk," muttered Gan Dewei. "Now answer," said Gan Dewei.

"I never thought you as a notorious man… maybe in the beginning but then as I got to know you, you don't seem so. In the beginning, I thought you as a criminal but then as things got clearer, I found you get accused because of some wrong reasons," asserted Ru Shi.

"What if you never get to know I did not murder your father? Then did you have thought same about me?" Gan Dewei asked.

Ru Shi could not answer.

"Answer," Gan Dewei angrily said.

"I do not know. Forgive me for accusing you wrongly," Ru Shi said and lowered her eyes.

"Do you think I have a right to be happy?" Gan Dewei asked another question.

Ru Shi was amused by his question. "Everyone has the right to be happy. Your happiness is yours only and no one has the right to snatch it away," pronounced Ru Shi. Gan Dewei kept looking at her. His intense gaze was making him nervous when she turned her head.

"My family does not even remember my birthday," Gan Dewei said finally. Ru Shi looked at him with sad eyes. He then chuckled, "my mother died today. I never once celebrated this day until today because I want to spend time with you. Do you really think a person like me has a right to be happy?" Gan Dewei them asked.

"Indeed your mother's demise is a sad thing but you cannot be sad over that and stop being happy. You have every right to be happy. Think about your mother when she gave birth to you. She must be really happy seeing her child. If she will be seeing you like this then she might be hurting. Do you not think so?" Ru Shi stated.

Gan Dewei did not speak anything.

"You should be happy. In this one life you should do every possible thing which makes you happy. I think I should go back," Ru Shi and turned to look at him when she observed her intense gaze on her. "I am going," she again said and reached out her hand to open the door when Gan Dewei caught her hand. He pulled her towards him and placed gently his other hand to the crook of her neck.

"Is he… going to kiss me?" a thought ran in Ru Shi's mind but everything was so quick that she could not stop him. Their faces came closer when Gan Dewei whispered, "You should not have called me." Ru Shi's eyes turned big upon hearing those words but by then his lips landed onto her soft lips.

His eyes were closed while Ru Shi was looking at him with a shocking look. He started nibbling and sucking her lips, wanted her to reciprocate to his feelings. Ru Shi pulled her hand back but Gan Dewei did not let it go. Instead he tightened his grip on her and pulled her closer.

Her heartbeats were getting uneven but she did not moved her lips at all. Gan Dewei too did not stop. He kept kissing her as he wanted to see if the girl thinks him as just Gan Dewei or as a criminal and notorious guy. But he was not getting no such response so he decided to pull away.

But at that instant Ru Shi reciprocated to his kiss. She was naïve who did not know how to kiss so she just moved her lips once and stopped. A smile carved on his lips and he moved his lips slowly. Ru Shi did the same and their lips started moving in synchronization.

After a while, they parted away from each other. Both were panting heavily. "I love you," Gan Dewei said.

Ru Shi looked at him. "You do not need to answer. I know in your eyes I have done many wrong things but I will bring end to those," stated Gan Dewei.
