Mishi was laid down on the bed when her phone beeped. She looked at it and found she had 130 unread emails so she opened the mailbox to check the mails. She was scrolling down when her eyes fell on an email from Maximus. She without wasting any second opened it.

"Mishi Xin

Congratulations!! On successfully passing this interview. We're happy to hear from your side. So please be available at 9 am on Monday in the HR department. The annual salary is 10000$ with other perks which will be explained to you by the HR head.

"I made into Maximus?" She Couldn't believe her eyes and again read the mail. She started crying because after four years she finally got into that company.

She jumped out of the bed, went to her cupboard, and looked for a formal dress which she could wear tomorrow. She has only two formal suits with her. "I've to buy a suit and a pair of heels," mumbled Mishi.

"Mom-dad, thanks for hearing my prayer. I heard that the CEO of Maximus doesn't hear the words of other people so his uncle won't be able to do anything this time." Hardly she knew that a bigger thing was waiting for her which would be going to change her life completely.

She happily ironed her dress and then prepared for dinner. After eating she took a good night's sleep so that she could get up early in the morning. Sleep engulfed her in ten minutes and a smile appeared on her lips.

In the morning alarm rang and Mishi got up all energized. She looked at the time which is 5:00 am. She then dropped a message to Chang to come home as she has to go somewhere. After that, she went to the washroom and took a warm bath. She prepared meals for them and packed the lunch for herself. After doing this she cleaned the house and looked at the clock which was showing 7:30 am.

"They must be here by now". She picked her phone and saw a message from Chang. "Sisi, we're on our way." She put aside her phone and prepared her bag.

At 7:45 am her siblings reached home. "Go go, you can be late for school," said Mishi and pushed Chunhua inside the washroom. She gave her the school dress and told her to be ready in 10minutes.

"Why are you in a rush?" asked Chang.

"Well I'm selected by Maximus as an assistant so I've to be there by 9 am," replied Mishi.

"Oh! congrats, finally you made it." Chang congratulated her and grabbed an apple from the fridge.

"Don't you wanna brush?" asked Mishi.

"I already did. I also took the bath there and now I've to wear the school dress," answered Chang.

"Then go. Get ready because we'll be leaving in the next 15 minutes," pronounced Mishi while checking her dress.

Chunhua came out of the washroom and went to her room to dry the hair. After eating a light breakfast they left the house. She saw them off till the bus stand and from there she went to a show house to buy a pair of heels for herself. At 9 am she reached the office and went to the HR department, 2nd floor.

"Miss Xin, you're assistant to our CEO," said the HR.

"CEO?"

"Yes. Actually, his secretary has lots of things to handle so an assistant is also needed who can be there for the other works. Your annual salary is 10000$, monthly salary being 1000$ with health insurance, personal laptop, a personal headset, and Bluetooth. Working hours can be more than 8 hours," explained the HR.

"No issue sir. I'm ready for this job." Mishi agreed on the terms.

"Ok then sign in these papers. Read them carefully before signing," stated the HR. Mishi was so happy that she only read the first paper and signed on the papers. She gave the papers to HR.

"Okay Ms. Xin, you've to go to the 7th floor, CEO office," stated HR. Mishi got up from the chair and thanked him. She quickly walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the 7th floor. Adjusting her formal dress she came out of the elevator and walked towards the CEO office.

Mishi looked around the floor which was quite magnificent. "This floor is quite exquisite. The director's office is also here," mumbled Mishi. She saw the office of the CEO and walked there keeping a gentle smile on her face. She pushed the glass door and saw the illuminated office with the bright sunlight. Her eyes then roamed around the office and it fell on a huge chair which turned back so that she couldn't see who was sitting on it. She stepped inside releasing the grip from the handlebar.

"Good morning sir. I'm your new assistant Mishi Xin." She bowed her head down and then raised it. But there's no response from the man sitting on the chair. She stepped forward and in a low voice said, "Sir".

The chair revolved and the CEO showed his face to Mishi. "You?" Mishi exclaimed in a startled look, unable to believe that the man in front of her is none other than Xian Zhang.

"Hello, Ms. Mishi Xin. Okay, so you are the new assistant who has beaten the 100s of candidates- quite impressive." Xian said in his husky deep voice and smirked at her.

"If I had known I've to work for you then I would never have applied for this company," proclaimed Mishi with a disgusted feeling in her tone.

Xian got up from his chair and walked towards Mishi. He stopped a few inches away from her and scrunched his nose. "What should I do about your attitude?"

"People like you deserve this attitude. I do not need this job," snapped Mishi angrily.

"What? Leaving this job? I think you can't do that." Xian chuckled hearing this and with his index finger he held her chin up and said, "you've signed some papers in the HR department and let me tell you you can't leave this job because of you then you've to give me 100000$ for the breaching of the contract you just signed down there."

"What?" Mishi exclaimed in disbelief.

"That's why papers should be read carefully. You're bound in this company for your entire life. Not only that you'll do all the personal chores of mine," muttered Xian.

"I never met you so why are you doing this?" asked Mishi with teary eyes.

"Because you did wrong that day," shouted Xian at her and pushed her. She balanced herself. "What work I've to do?" Mishi asked him politely.

"You've to do every work which I'm going to throw at you and about working hours you've to work till I'll be here in this office and I usually go home at 9 pm or sometimes 10 pm," explained Xian to Mishi.

"This is wrong," Mishi muttered.

Xian turned his head to her and said, "You signed the papers yourself. Nobody forced you while you were signing the papers."

"Sir, I've to look after my siblings too. They're kids so I can't work till late." Mishi gave him a valid reason. Xian laughed hearing this.

Mishi looked at him in disbelief and said, "Sir I'm only one for them. They are still high schoolers so I can't work till late." Mishi tried making him understand her point of view.

"Should I then stake my company for your family?" snapped Xian angrily at her.

"Sir, I'm not saying that. I can work till 7 pm." Mishi again put her point.

Xian looked at her and then said, "fine till 7 pm. Now bring a coffee to me, a black one," ordered Xian and went to his chair. She bowed her head and walked out of the office. She met with Li Wei there.

"Oh, Ms. Xin! So you're his assistant. Good. You've to be inside his cabin till the working hours. His office is quite spacious so I'll place a table, chair and other things there. Here this phone is for you. Sim is inside it. It has several numbers including Mr. Zhang, Mr. Mark and other important people in the company," explained Li Wei and gave her the phone and then walked inside.

She left for the cafe where she used to work at. "Mishi what are you doing here?" asked the owner.

"Oh, sir I got the job in Maximus. Will you please give me a black coffee?," asked Mishi politely.

"Wow, congrats Mishi. Of course," said the owner and gave her black coffee. She took the coffee and rushed to the CEO's office.

Panting heavily she handed the coffee to Xian. Li Wei was also there so he started explaining to her about Xian's work.

"Ms. Xin you've to respond to the personal emails of our CEO, get updated with his schedule and the events he attends if needed, has to go to his house for work, work on Sundays too, etc, etc. Your desk is ready over there, and make sure to be here in the office at Sharp 8 am."

Mishi was nodding to everything Mr. Wei was telling.

"One more thing, there's an event today in the evening. So as his assistant you've to accompany him."

"Is in such events Secretary needs to go?" asked Mishi.

"Yes, you're right but I have work somewhere," asserted Li Wei.

"You've no other option. Ms. Xin," stated Xian looked at her.

"Any other question?" asked Mr. Wei. Mishi shook her head and refused.

Li Wei turned to Xian and said, "Sir, we have got a meeting in 10 minutes with the directors."

"Hmm... Let's go. Ms. Xin, by then, please give these files to Mark," mumbled Xian and walked away with Mr. Wei.
