Just like that, Yun Xuan agreed to stay. She rushed to the Lin residence to get a change of clothes for her and her son. In her bag, she didn't forget to include Yun Feng's favourite toy car and the little robot figurine that he loved very much.

On her way back, she bought more ingredients, remembering that there was nothing in Lin Ye's fridge.

"You're back." Lin Ye sounded like he had been waiting for ages.

"Mmh. Do you want to go for a walk? You must want to get some fresh air after staying in the house for all this while. Don't worry, we will only go to your backyard."

Her words startled Lin Ye.

There was nothing wrong with what she said. However, it reminded him of a conversation he had overheard while in the college of fashion design.

While studying fashion design, he had been classmates with a pretty girl.

She was the prettiest girl in the campus and all the men in school wanted to date her.

That girl had sat behind him for a whole semester and she would often talk with her friend while in class. One time, she complained about her husband getting into an accident and his legs had to be amputated. His hands had sustained some damage as well.

Her exact words were, "That man still expects me to be with him?

He's already a cripple. Of what use is he? He cannot work and that means he will no longer be wealthy. Why would I want to be with him?"

Her friend had asked, "You cannot be with a man because he lost his ability to work?"

The pretty girl had sneered loud enough for half the class to hear. "He's already become so useless yet he has the audacity to ask me to wheel him around 'cause he wants to get some fresh air and enjoy the sun rays. What is he, a dog? Hmph! Are you kidding me? What would people think of me if they saw me wheel a cripple around?"

"They would think you are a very good and loving wife." The friend had said.

However, the beauty almost exploded. "I'm too beautiful to stick with a man who will not benefit me just for some lousy 'loving wife's title."

Lin Ye had always thought that the girl back then was too unkind, but be wouldn't judge her because it was none of his business.

Never would he have thought that one day, he might land in the same circumstances as that girl's husband. The only difference was that while that girl was not willing to be seen together with her husband, Yun Xuan did not seem to mind retaining their friendship. His body trembled slightly.

"Are you okay? If you don't want to go out, we can postpone that. I only brought it up because I thought you might be very bored."

Lin Ye was thinking about something else. "Xuanxuan, if your husband got disfigured, would you still want him?"

She thought of a possibility and figured out his thoughts. Lin Lihua had mentioned that he had a woman he had liked for many years. "Are you worried that the girl you like might reject you?"

He silently admitted it, making Yun Xuan pat his shoulder. "People are different. Some women may find it troublesome, while others will think love is what matters the most. My opinion might not be of help."

Lin Ye knew deep down that her opinion would matter a lot. "But, would you mind? Would you leave him?"

Yun Xuan fell into deep thought and gave her answer after a while. "When people decide to be together and get married, it means they are ready to celebrate their happiness together and face their difficulties together too. If I agreed to marry someone, I wouldn't leave them for such a reason."

He already half-guessed this answer because she was still his friend. However, marriage was a different matter altogether so he had to get her opinion out of her mouth if he were to believe it.

Since she had said this, he was now fully sure that if he confessed to her, the only thing that would affect his success would be her willingness to be in a relationship.

Perhaps it was time to test out how willing she was.
