Yun Xuan didn't want to owe anyone anything. Especially not the Lin family who had been very kind to her. She really didn't want to freeload on them. 

However, her apartment was truly not safe. Although the security was passable when she moved in, it was now far from that. 

Someone had managed to stalk her. This meant there were many loopholes in the security. 

For the sake of her baby, it would be safer to stay somewhere with guaranteed security. 

She looked at Xia Rou, wondering what she would do for the Lin family to repay their kindness. 

"Aunty, then I will have to trouble you for a while." 

Xia Rou smiled. How she wished she could adopt Yun Xuan as her foster daughter. 

After all, her foster mother couldn't protect her. She was being controlled by her sons and according to Lin Zhou's investigation, those sons of the Yun family must have been the ones who tried to kidnap Yun Xuan. 

Unfortunately, that would be crossing her boundaries and Madam Yun would have something to say. 

But this was good too. She could simply take it as having a friend from the younger generation.

"Then let's go home now. I'll have someone move your things later. I suggest you don't move everything at the moment." 

"Mmh." Yun Xuan understood this. It would be safer if it wasn't obvious that she was moving out. 

Xia Rou saw that Yun Xuan had knitted her brows and was thinking about something. 

She chuckled. "Don't worry. Little Feng is with old Zhou. He's in safe hands." 

Yun Xuan felt embarassed. "Am I such an open book?"

In the Lin residence, Yun Xuan indeed felt safe. She was no longer afraid of being ambushed or of someone finding out about her baby. 

Xia Rou had had the servants specifically prepare Yun Xuan's bedroom in the same colors and theme as those of her house. The room next to hers was also decorated with things that little boys liked. 

Yun Feng's favorite toys were brought over too, along with some clothes. 

As for his new cradle, Xia Rou had paid special attention to it. She had made sure that there was nothing that the little boy could possibly step on if he wanted to get out on his own. Yun Xuan was awed by her thoughtfulness. She had been considering buying a new one herself but once again, Xia Rou had done it for her.

Thanks to the Lin family's rules, the servants knew that they should respect any guest brought into the house. 

 Yun Xuan had expected the melodramatic twist of events of the servants bullying her in Xia Rou's absence. However, they gave her the same amount of respect that they would give Lin Lihua and Wan Jia. Those who didn't know would think that Xia Rou was welcoming a long lost daughter.

The wheel of fortune had finally stopped in her favor.

That night, Yun Xuan carried her son to her new room

She was worried that he would be unable to sleep in the new environment so she slept with him on her bed. 

In the end, she had been worried about nothing. When he woke up late at night, he didn't cry as usual. Instead, he could be heard giggling into the night as he played with his mother's hair. 

Yun Xuan, whose blonde hair had been turned into a field by the little boy, was too tired to feel anything. She was in deep slumber.

The next morning, she glanced at the calender she had kept since Yun Feng was born. Today, he would have another immunization shot. 

With a proud smile, she checked on the tiny boy on her bed. He was still sleeping peacefully, his long lashes looking cute over his flushed cheeks. Her face revealed a smile. Her son was seriously too cute. It was not sure just how many girls would fall for his charm once he grew up. 

Even in his sleep, he was sucking his tiny thumb. Yun Xuan reached over and gently took it out of his mouth. He must be hungry. She would feed him once he woke up. 

Getting out of bed, she freshened up and checked that the boy was still sleeping before she left the room and went to cook breakfast.

Xia Rou was already in the kitchen. 

She smiled when she saw Yun Xuan walk in. "Morning Xuanxuan, are you hungry? Just wait a little longer. Breakfast will be ready soon."

Yun Xuan swept a glance at the dishes Xia Rou had already prepared. "I was going to cook breakfast. Aunty, let me take over. You should go and rest." 

"Cooking is my hobby. Just play around and let me finish, okay?" 

Her tone did not allow any room for negotiation. 

Yun Xuan understood that Xia Rou did not want to tire her out. 

Well, she was right. Xia Rou didn't let her do any chores either. 

After eating breakfast, aside from taking care of her son, she only had her own work to do. 

After feeding the little boy and working on a few things, it was time to go to hospital. She had already made an appointment with a doctor. 

"Aunty, are you going somewhere too?" Yun Xuan asked when she saw Xia Rou descend the stairs, dressed up and with a bag slung on her shoulder. 

"Mmh. I'm going for a routine check up. Since you are going to the hospital too, we can go together. I will go to the cardiology department while you go to the pediatric unit. We can come back together too." She was bubbling over with joy. 

Yun Xuan wasn't sure whether she really wanted to go to hospital or she was simply finding an excuse to accompany her. 

Either way, she was happy about it. 

When they arrived at the hospital, Xia Rou got off the car before Yun Xuan did.

Some distance away, a man held a pair of binoculars, spying.

"That's Xia Rou, right? Who's the kid?"
