The next day, Yun Xuan carried floor pillows and arranged them at a corner in the study room, where she could see easily.

She also brought some of Yun Feng's favorite toys.

When she was done arranging his little zone, she fed and bathed him before placing the boy on the carpeted floor and starting to do her work.

The best thing about Yun Feng was that although he was rather unfriendly and naughty, he could be quite calm at times.

As long as he was well fed, had his toys and could see his mother in his vicinity, he wouldn't cause too much trouble.

As though by reflex, he sat down, playing with a tiny robot as he let his mother work.

She would check on him each time she took a short break and play with him for a few minutes.

He only cried after a long time..

Yun Xuan got up and scooped him in her arms. "Who knew you could be such a good boy, huh?"

The little boy looked up at her pitifully, sucking his tiny thumb.

So he was crying because he was hungry.

Yun Xuan brought a milk bottle she had already prepared and placed it against his mouth.

When he had drank to his fill, he yawned and fell asleep against his mother's chest.

Yun Xuan stood up and went to the nursery, tucking him in into the cradle.

"Being a single mother isn't that hard after all." She smiled. What had she been so scared of in the past? She had thought it would be impossible. But wasn't she doing it just right?

The following day, Yun Xuan had made up her mind to inform the Lin family that their son's health was much better and he would be awake soon. If they chose to ignore the news and take it as none of their business, her hands would be clean.

While at it, she also wanted to drop by the Lin residence and check on Xia Rou.

Lin Lihua had received a piece of news about her and rushed home. She hadn't said a word about it since then.

After bathing her son and changing him into low-key clothes, she wore a simple dress herself and darpped a scarf on to cover her face slightly.

"Mom, don't you know to take care of your own health? You scared me." Lin Lihua admonished.

The previous day, Xia Rou had suddenly fainted. It was one of the most frightening things that Lin Lihua could ever hear of.

However, the woman was currently sipping on the herbal soup Lin Lihua had prepared as though nothing had happened. "If you worry so much about me, you should have kids sooner. My grandchildren will take good care of me and I won't have to take care of my own health anymore."

"But I want more. What should I do?"

Xia Rou had just finished drinking her soup. "Scram. How dare you call my little Feng a devil?"

As soon as he heard Xia Rou's familiar voice, the boy's eyes lit up and he flashed a smile, revealing a mouth of empty gum with only two tiny white teeth in the vicinity.

In the next moment, he tried to jump off his mother's embrace.

Yun Xuan had expected such a move and held him tightly. He would be too excited whenever he saw Xia Rou.

She put him down carefully, making sure he didn't hurt Xia Rou who was probably still sick.
