As soon as they left East End bar, Katy had accompanied Lu Meili home, afraid that she would stess herself out too much if left on her own. Lin Lihua finally had a reaction. "Who are you calling 'mother'? Did you have too much to drink?"

Katy Blanc turned around with an innocent smile. "I'm your daughter. Of cause I will call you mother. What, you adopted me, and now you want to disown me?"

Lin Lihua continued watching the television drama she was watching, unwilling to look at Katy.

There was nothing wrong with what Katy was saying. When Amy died, Henry Blanc decided to adopt his niece and make her his legal daughter. However, a married man couldn't possibly adopt a child on his own. Paired with the fact that she still liked Katy back then, she had signed the adoption documents along with him.

Katy seemed to be using this to get under her skin now.

The 'innocent' Katy smiled and took a few steps foward, then turned back. "Mother, you shouldn't go to bed too late. It is not good for your health and your skin."

Lin Lihua remained silent, but someone else spoke. "She is not your mother."

Ruoxi had arrived much earlier, terribly angry after being stood up by Lu Meili.

She walked right to Katy Blanc. "She is not your mother. She never will be. Your mother is dead."

"You..." Katy clenched her fists.

"Ruoxi!" A voice scolded. "How dare you?! You... you have crossed the line."

Any normal person would have such a reaction. Everyone knew how painful Amy's death had been to Katy, especially since she was murdered so brutally. How could Ruoxi say such a thing?

Henry Blanc would have kept quiet about anything else, but how dare this girl say such a thing to Katy? He glared at Ruoxi furiously.

Realization downed on Ruoxi. Because she had seen Katy trying to suck up to Lin Lihua, she was in panic. She had said this to infuriate Katy and make the latter fight her, but she forgot all about Lin Lihua's presence.

She only remembered this belatedly. In panic, she rushed to her, crying pitifully. "Mom, I didn't mean to say such a thing. I was just scared when she was so close to you. Who knows what her intention is? Mom, I really didn't mean to."

Katy Blanc was the one who panicked this time. Oh no... if Lin Lihua listened to Ruoxi, Lin Lihua would dislike her even more. She clenched her fists.
