Katy said to Little Jia in a low tone, "Ruoxi is legally aunty's child. Daddy said that she was adopted."

Little Jia did not exactly understand what that was about. All she understood was that her aunty seemed to have taken an already grown child as her own. Her eyes flashed in surprise. She did not know that such a thing could actually happen.

The little girl thought of something else and her face brightened up. "Mommy said that Aunty Lihua and Uncle Henry are now married. Does that make us... cousins?"

Katy thought about it and was excited too. "Yes! Aunty Lihua is the aunt of us both. Not only are we good friends, we are now cousins too."

Lin Lihua glanced at them and smiled warmly. The kids were too cute.

Little Jia was the most excited of the three. Though she wondered, why was her new cousin very timid, cowering behind her aunt? Was it because she had been too harsh earlier? Seeing that her mother was still looking at her as though waiting for her to realize her mistake, she knew that she was right. She was too unfriendly earlier.

She pulled the timid Ruoxi. "Elder cousin, my name is Lu Meili but you can call me Little Jia. Do you want to play together? Katy and I don't mind another playmate. Right, Katy?"

Katy nodded.

Seeing that Katy did not mind either, Little Jia pulled Ruoxi and Katy. "Let's go check on my little kitten. Her name is Brownie, aunty Lihua gifted her to me."

"You have a kitten? I love kittens!" Ruoxi finally said something cheerful for the first time. She let Little Jia and Katy pull her.

Wan Jia's expression eased. She hoped they would truly get along.

When the kids left, the adults finally had the chance to speak.

Lu Aotian knew that Wan Jia was very anxious. If he let her out of this discussion, she would worry herself silly. If her emotions fluctuated too much, it might be harmful to both her and the baby.
