Although she was certain that she was awake, Su Ling went through her call history for the umpteenth time.

She had really called Lu Shaoting. Then he called her back to confirm what he had just heard. He didn't sound unhappy about it in his second call.

She rushed home and locked herself in her bedroom, taking out the hospital report.

She was pregnant. She and Lu Shaoting were really going to be parents.

Lu Shaoting thought she was being too paranoid. "I love you so much. How can I not want you and our baby?"

His words brought her joy and comfort. "I love you so much Shaoting."

Lu Shaoting traced her body, all the way to her belly and rubbed it. "I love you too. Both of you." He knelt and placed his ear on her belly and listened, anticipating that he would hear something.

Su Ling laughed at her man's antics. "You can't feel it now. It is still too little."

Of course he knew this. He was just too excited.

"Are you tired? You should rest and I'll prepare you a meal. This evening, we will announce the news to the family and our friends."

"I want to cook for you." She protested. Although she hadn't bought the ingredients she wanted to buy for preparing him a meal, she could have some delivered.

Lu Shaoting's expression turned stern. "No can do. The first three months are usually the most delicate. The kitchen is not a place for you."

Su Ling felt wronged. "I'm just pregnant, okay? Can you not act like I'm terminally ill?"

Lu Shaoting held her little face that looked sad and kissed her forehead. "Honey, I just want to take good care of you. You do know that many accidents can happen in places like the kitchen, right? Be good. I'll be done before you know it."

Reluctantly, she took her phone to play with as Lu Shaoting cooked in the kitchen.

As soon as Lu Shaoting was done cooking and he started arranging the dishes on the dining table, her eyes lit up and she rushed over to hug him from the back.

He was worried and turned around to look at her. "Is anything wrong?"

"No. If nothing is wrong, I can't hug you?"

Lu Shaoting was probably more anxious than usual because of her pregnancy.

When she kept clinging onto him, he couldn't help but giggle. "You're sticking onto me so much. Is our baby a girl or what?"

Su Ling rolled his eyes at him. "Why don't you just evaporate?"

Because he was in a good mood, it was alright even if he was being scolded.

When Su Ling took a look at the dishes he had just prepared for her, she almost burst into tears. "Does my food have to be so boring?"

Lu Shaoting rubbed her head. "It's not boring at all. Just a little different from the spicy food you usually eat. When our baby is born, I will cook anything you want to eat."

He had already done research for pregnant women's diet beforehand, probably just hoping that he would use the knowledge one day.

"There's only one regret." He said as he looked at her.

"What is it?"

He looked like a spoilt little boy throwing a tantrum. "Will I have to be a monk for all those months? It's even more unfair that my Ling is so sweet."

Su Ling smacked him. "If you speak any more nonsense, I'll run off with our baby."
