Before thinking of leaving Lu Enterprises, he had obviously made sure to complete all the tasks he had to do. But Lu Aotian, that wife-doting monster, was capable of giving him unreasonable work just so he could prevent him from letting Wan Jia get bothered.

After successfully fleeing Lu Enterprises, he gave Su Ling a call. Su Ling was in the middle of helping Wan Jia prepare for a meeting so Lu Shaoting had to wait.

"Boss, can I go out for a while? Everything you will need in your meeting is prepared. she asked shyly when she was done. She only had the courage to do so because she had never slacked off work.

"Is Shaoting waiting for you?" Wan Jia chuckled. "Why don't you ask him to wait here? You only have to review these few documents then you can get off work for today. It would be more convenient than going for out for a short while and having to come back."

"Get off work already? It's barely noon." Su Ling was surprised. "Boss, you don't have to be lenient with me. Although I really want to go out with him, he shouldn't be a hindrance to my work." She obviously thought that Wan Jia was deliberately going easy on her.

"Do you think I would go easy on you? That would be too irresponsible. It's really just these documents. You can leave them here when you are done."

"Then I won't be too courteous. Thank you."

"You don't have to thank me. Also, do you want to work for Xiao Rong when I leave? I don't think her assistant is reliable. She needs a pair of capable hands like yours."

Su Ling didn't protest. "Although I want to stick to your side forever, an employer you arranged for me wouldn't be bad either."

Wan Jia felt touched by her answer. Why did it feel as though she had adopted a loyal pet?

"If you don't want to, no one will force you into it. It's just a suggestion. When I leave, you can choose whoever you want to work for."

"Do you have to retire? The fashion industry would be dull without you." Su Ling sighed regretfully.

"Who said anything about me retiring? I'm only stepping out a little before starting my brand."

Su Ling was relieved. She really liked Wan Jia's designs and hoped she wouldn't ever retire.

After completing the little work she had to do, Su Ling finally went to meet Lu Shaoting. The man had insisted on waiting in his car.

"Did you wait too long?" She beamed him a smile. He was leaning on his car when she left the building.

"Does my sister-in-law have a grudge against me in our past lives? Just how much work does she make you do?" Displeasure was written all over his face.

Su Ling held his hand and pinched it. "You don't want me to work? Do you want me to just sit at home and grow mould on my bum?"

"Why not? I can provide for the family." His expression was serious, as though he was not joking. He looked like he actually anticipated making her a stay at home wife.

"Stop fooling around. A wife should work hard and support her husband."

Lu Shaoting suddenly grabbed her and kissed her lips.

Su Ling pushed him away in alarm. "What's that all about? We are in public."

"You asked me to stop fooling around."

"I did." she glared at him.

"How was I supposed to stop doing something I hadn't started doing?" she was shorter than him so he had to lean in to say that.

Su Ling pushed rolled her eyes at him and got into the car. Lu Shaoting sat in the driver's seat and held her chin. She pushed him as they were still in public. "If you keep being annoying all the time, I'll leave you on your own."

"What did you say?" he took her lips in his and bit on them softly as punishment. "You are not allowed to say such things. Not even as a joke."

"If that's my punishment, are you trying to make me say it many more times?" she who was shy about being in public just a moment ago had forgotten all about it. She held his neck and returned his kiss.

"If you do such naughty things, the punishment won't be just a kiss. It will be much more."

She understood what he meant and blushed.

While they displayed their affection in the car, they were completely unaware that pictures of them had been taken by a paparazzo. The female paparazzo had just been excited to see Lu Shaoting being affectionate with a girl and couldn't resist taking photos.

Within just a few minutes, their kissing pictures were trending all over the internet.

While most people felt jealous of Su Ling, some thought it was disgusting. It was understandable that they liked each other but did they have to make out in public?! That being done by a man of Lu Shaoting's status was too shameful.

"Such insolense!" Lu Tongyan was raging when he saw the news. His son was being critisized as shameless and disrespectful of public morals.

"How old are you? Do you not know to watch your image?" He scolded. He was so upset that he didn't know what to tell him.

"You only mind that the woman is Su Ling, right?" Lu Shaoting scoffed.

"You! Bring that woman home. Only if she passes my test will I acknowledge her."
