Su Ling seemed to remember a certain situation. She had thought before that Yan Xue was really engaged to Lu Shaoting. Later, the man had told her that there was no such thing as an engagement between them. He didn't even like her. Logically she should believe him because he was the one she loved.

But how could he explain Yan Xue's pregnancy? Was he going to say that she was with another man and was now forcing him to take responsibility for another man's child?

Yan Xue was literally obsessed with Lu Shaoting. Could she even do that?

The next day, she was once again in a bad mood and ignored him. Wan Jia only had to take one look to know that she was fighting with her unreliable brother-in-law for the umpteenth time.

"What did that Shaoting do this time? You are too dull today. It's as though your body has been hollowed out."

Su Ling did not want to drag people into her personal life but she had become closer to her boss over time. They could even be considered friends. "Boss, do you think Lu Shaoting could possibly sleep with another woman?"

Wan Jia would obviously speak well of her brother-in-law. But, what she said was still the truth. "And be with you at the same time? Shaoting wouldn't do that. If he completely gave up on chasing you then he could."

Su Ling pondered. He had looked for her to explain that he only loved and there was no other woman in his heart. He had not given up.

"A woman sent me her pregnancy test results. Tsk, she must have wanted me to think that she has something going on with Lu Shaoting. "She sneered.

Wan Jia looked up from her drafts with a smile of understanding. "Let me guess. The woman is Yan Xue?"

"Is it that obvious?"

Wan Jia opened a drawer and took out a folder which she showed to Su Ling. She had seen the content too so Wan Jia did not mind showing it to her. "That woman must have wanted everyone from the family to see it."

"If she sent it to President Lu then…"

"She wouldn't dare." Lu Aotian was too scary. He might see right through her little scheme. "You shouldn't conclude anything before talking to Shaoting." She advised.

Sure enough, Lu Shaoting found her in the evening. After insisting that Yan Xue's child had nothing to do with him, he and his father were now in a cold war. Between his father and Su Ling, he felt that it was more crucial to talk to Su Ling. His father might need more time to understand the situation but if Yan Xue told Su Ling about it, then the latter would misunderstand him. Then wouldn't all his hard work go to waste?

He held Su Ling in his arms as soon as he got into her house. She pushed him slightly, she needed some explanation first.

Lu Shaoting felt her slightly cold attitude and guessed that Yan Xue had already made a move. How fast.

"Did she look for you?"

Su Ling knew he was asking about Yan Xue. "She's pregnant, isn't she?"

Lu Shaoting sat down and pulled her next to him. "She might be, but it has nothing to do with me." He cupped her cheeks and made her look into his eyes. "Ling, do you trust me?"

Su Ling did not know how to answer him. They were not a couple. What right did she have to trust or not to trust him?

Lu Shaoting felt his heart ache when she remained silent. Was that a no?

He let go of her chin and closed his eyes for a second to down the pain. Lately, he had learnt to control his temper. He did not want to lash out on her again. If he did, he might really lose her for good.

"Ling, whatever that woman says to you, don't believe her. She drugged me but I didn't sleep with her." He wouldn't be with any other woman even when he was under a strong aphrodisiac. He could only be with his Su Ling.

Hearing that, Su Ling felt better. He didn't sleep with Yan Xue even though he was drugged? Did that prove that he loved her? "I believe you."

Lu Shaoting was momentarily astonished. Did she just say…that she believed him?

Then, he had to work harder. He should prove that Yan Xue was lying as soon as possible and after he did that, he would marry his Su Ling and finally be with her forever.

The situation was, however, not going to be too simple because Old Yan furiously charged into Lu Enterprises the following day.

"CEO Yan, I'm sorry, you cannot see the President without an appointment."

The man was not listening to her and banged right into the office of the President.

"President, I tried to stop him…" the little secretary was so scared that her legs shook. Lu Aotian sent her away.

"It's not every day that angry fathers barge into my office like they own Lu Enterprises. CEO Yan must have a good reason, right?"

For some reason, Lu Aotian's cold voice made Old Yan shiver. The confidence he previously had was all gone.

Lu Aotian…that little boy he had watched till he grew up, had he become so terrifying?

He could only stutter. "I'm here…because of my daughter."

Lu Aotian ignored him for a while before asking coldly, "She's lost and you somehow think I hid her away?"
