After confirming that Xia Rou indeed had the scar that Lu Aotian had talked about, Wan Jia turned to Lin Lihua. "Sis Lihua, I should go home now."

Lin Lihua knew that she needed time to adjust to the news. "I'll walk you out."

Wan Jia rejected her. "You don't have to. I know my way out."

Until she left the Lin residence, Wan Jia did not spare Xia Rou another glance.

"She's so upset." Xia Rou said.

"Mom, we don't know yet. She needs time to make sense of all of this."

"Lihua is right. It's not everyday someone appears from literally nowhere and claims to be her family." Lin Zhou chimed in.

The family of three could only hope that their little girl will accept them soon.

Lin Lihua was sighing in her heart, "I hope our friendship doesn't end because of this." They had grown very close and Lin Lihua truly loved her little sister.

Meanwhile, Wan Jia did not know what state of mind she was in when she reached Southside Villa. Was she shocked? Sad? Upset? Happy? Angry?

Lu Aotian only had to look at her once to know what Xia Rou had told her.

She plopped onto the sofa with her mixture of emotions and closed her eyes.

"Is Mommy feeling unwell?" Little Jia ran up to her and knelt beside her on the sofa, then touched her forehead to feel if she had a fever.

"Mommy is just tired. You should let her be for a while." Lu Aotian said to her.

"Yes Daddy." she obediently nodded before adding, "If Mommy is unhappy, I can cheer her up. I know a few tricks."

Lu Aotian smiled at his daughter who was becoming cleverer by the day. "If I can't cheer up Mommy on my own, I will call you to help me."

The little girl was very happy to finally be of help. She ran out to play happily.

When Little Jia left, Wan Jia did not look at Lu Aotian even once. She simply called Lu Shaoting. "Shaoting, when did you say the paternity test results would be out?"

"Today. I'll help you pick them later." Lu Shaoting said.

Lu Aotian felt his heart ache. He knew better than anyone what the report was going to read.

Meanwhile, after taking the new clothes and accessories to Su Ling's apartment, the two of them chatted for a bit and a while later, Lu Shaoting offered to cook lunch.

"You can cook?" Su Ling was surprised.

He nodded proudly. "Although I have never cooked before, I can try. I'm a fast learner."

"Who will you learn from? Are you trying to learn how to concote poison?" Su Ling mumbled weakly. If he asked her to teach him, he may as well buy a bomb from an explosives shop and swallow it instead.

"Who said I was going to learn from you?" As soon as he said that, he called the best chef at home and asked him how to cook a few dishes.

Although he was only recieving instructions on phone, he was truly a fast learner and managed to cook. His dishes were not on the level of any chef but for a rookie who had never cooked before, they were passable.

"You are truly a genius. Is there anything you can't do?" Su Ling gushed in admiration when she tasted the dishes.

"Yup. I can't give birth."

"Of course, you're a man. Is there anything within the capability of men that you can't do?"

"I can't beat my brother in anything."

Su Ling was now annoyed. Does this guy not know how to accept compliments? His response should have been, 'I'm not that good' or something across those lines. "Let's just eat."

When they were done and Lu Shaoting was thinking of ways to continue spending time with her, his phone screen lit up. Wan Jia was calling to ask him about the test report.

When he hung up, Su Ling unitentionally saw his phone screen. The screensaver was two adorable kids, a girl and a boy. The little girl was forcefully dragging the boy by his collar as if taking him somewhere he did not want to go. The boy looked like he was going to explode in anger. Judging by their sizes, the boy seemed to be a little older than the girl. But there was not even the tiniest resemblance between them so they were probably not siblings.

Letting her imagination run wild, Su Ling thought that if these two were neither siblings nor cousins, they could really make a good couple when they grew up.

"You like kids?" Lu Shaoting asked when he saw her staring at his phone screen and even smiling a little.

Did she like kids? She was not sure. She was afraid of getting close to children because they reminded her of her past mistakes but these two were really cute. "Are they your kids?" she asked softly.

Lu Shaoting wondered just which part of him looked like he was married and was even a father. "No. The boy is my godson, Tangtang and the girl is my niece, Little Jia. They like sticking onto me."

"President Lu has a daughter? No wonder the girl looks like my boss. But...aren't they just engaged? Wait, don't tell me...President Lu's ex wife that I have heard so much about is my boss?"
