The couple reached home much later than usual. As expected, Little Jia had already had dinner and was waiting for them very gloomily.

"Daddy and Mommy are late today." she pouted.

Lu Aotian chuckled and picked her up. "No flower for daddy today?"

"Daddy is late, so no flower today."

"What about mommy?" Wan Jia asked. She had been wanting to ask since forever. Why was it that Lu Aotian would always recieve a lovely flower on his arrival and she would not? Wasn't her baby being too biased?

After a light dinner, Wan Jia bathed Little Jia and slept with her on her bed. As usual, the bullied and abandoned Lu Aotian was not allowed to join them.

The next day, Wan Jia went to her office a little earlier to complete what she was doing before Lu Aotian interrupted her the previous day.

The office phone rang.

"Mmh...I'm almost done...just one hour." It was the CEO. Since Wan Jia's work efficiency was usually high, he was a little surprised to not have recieved her complete work as expected. Indeed, each minute was important to someone like her.

As she finished, Su Ling reported that Lili was here to see her. The night before, she had sent Lili an email to inform her that she had been fired. Anyone else would do the same. However, why was Lili looking for her? She had told her that everything else would be handled by the CEO.

"Let her in." she told Su Ling. Lili would not be able to cause trouble anyway.

The little girl entered her office and looked at Su Ling first. "Can I talk to Designer Wan in private? You can wait outside, thank you."

Wan Jia thought she was going to say something personal and didn't think too much about it. In any case, she had a back up plan in case of any threat of danger.

"Speak." she said calmly.

The girl looked down for a few seconds. When she next looked up into Wan Jia's eyes, Wan Jia was shocked!

She was still that cute little girl alright, but where had all the innocence and shyness flown to?

She was currently looking at a girl who was obviously not the Lili she knew that was too timid and liked to cry.

"Lili...?"

Lili looked right into Wan Jia's eyes, smiled and withdrew her gaze to look outside the window.

"Designer Wan, you cannot fire me."

Even the voice was so different that Wan Jia was startled. Not even Lin Lihua, who was an actress by proffession, could change personalities that fast! For some reason, she had a bad premonition.

She looked at the girl before her and smiled. "I already did. It would be best if you left peacefully before..."

Lili interrupted her. "Are you gonna call the security guards to drive me away? I will not stop you from doing that but you have to know, if you fire me, someone will get hurt and that doesn't necessarily have to be me."

"What do you mean?" Wan Jia subconciously touched her bracelet. It was not exactly a bracelet. If she pressed the hidden button on it, it would send an emergency alarm to the men assigned by Lu Aotian to protect her. After the last time she was kidnapped, he had given it to her to ensure her safety in his absence. He would teach her to defend herself but that would be much later.

Lili seemed to sense her panic. "Don't be scared, I wouldn't hurt you. At least not physically."

"What do you want?"

"All I want is to continue being your assistant. Even if you don't give me any tasks and consequently don't pay me, just let me continue holding that title."

"Why would I do that?"

Lili looked down. "Because if you fire me, I'll be beheaded."

"Excuse me?" What did Lili's life and death have to do with being her assistant?

Lili smiled bitterly. "You don't have any recording devices on you, right?"

Wan Jia did not answer. The girl continued, "I cannot blindly take a risk. Your husband is too smart. What a shame...I would have disclosed something very important....and it's directly related to you."

"Go ahead, I don't have any spying or recording devices." Just a protection bracelet.

Lili was about to speak but stopped herself. She had been told to be specifically wary of Lu Aotian. That man (as the man she worked for put it,)was so sneaky that he could be right behind you and you would not even notice him. Who knew if he had other means?

Taking this into consideration, she sighed and left.

Wan Jia remained in her office wondering what she was just about to say. She hoped Lili was being exaggerative when she said her life on the line.

No matter how kind hearted she was, she was not going to be a saint and hire back the spy that tried to ruin her man's company. If Lu Aotian had not acted fast enough, just how much loss would Elite Fashion World inccur?

In another part of the capital, Yun Jifeng had recieved a whole day's worth of scolding, and it was still ongoing.

"Are you an idiot? What stupid material is your brain made of? How could you implicate your sister's studio like this? Not only is YX brand on the verge of collapse, you have driven a larger wedge between Wan Jia and your sister!" General Yun bellowed.
