Lu Aotian glanced at her. "I couldn't casually go to your home, so I came here. I hope you don't mind, mother-in-law?" he deliberately emphasized "mother-in-law" to let her know he had found out her identity.
Xia Rou froze. She wanted to run away but for some reason, this man's gaze made her legs unwilling to obey her.
Lu Aotian looked at the frightened doctor. "Thanks for your help Doctor Qiao, my mother-in-law and I have some family matters to discuss in private, so we will not overstay our welcome."
Xia Rou wanted to protest, but she knew better than to do so. Although she did not know how he found out, this was her daughter's man. It was better to get on his good side as he may put in a few good words for her than make him her enemy.
They did not go very far away, they went to a café near the hospital and got a private room.
Lu Aotian did not order anything and just sat casually like he would in his own home.
"How did you find out?" that was Xia Rou's first question.
Lu Aotian placed his arm on the armrest leisurely. "You were very careful and faked all the information about you, but you forgot something very important. You had a DNA test done in the hospital owned by Lu Enterprises."
Xia Rou was visibly shocked.
Lu Aotian continued. "You didn't expect that, right? You could have gone to your best friend's hospital but oh what a shame."
He seemed to enjoy her shock as he continued speaking tauntingly. "By the way, help me thank your daughter. It's all because she is suspiciously close to my wife that I investigated her."
Xia Rou who was silent all this time, finally spoke up. "Why did you look for me? And now that you did, are you going to tell her?" The 'her' she was talking abour was doubtlessly Wan Jia.

Lu Aotian pretended to consider it. "Same answer for both questions. I want to know what kind of person you are."
If Xia Rou understood correctly, he meant that he found her to learn her personality and if she was a good person, only then would he tell Wan Jia about her.
She shook her head and pleaded. "If you tell her now, she will hate me. You wouldn't want to watch her be in bad blood with her mother, right?"
"My silence will only be exchanged for an answer." he said after a torturing silence.
"Go ahead and ask." she hoped it was not an extremely personal question.

Xia Rou sighed in relief. This was a much better question. "I love her a lot, and I want to reunite with her but I'm afraid she will hate me. Besides, now's not the right time. I can't explain further but if I got close to Little Wan, Yun might find me."
Lu Aotian was satisfied with her explanation. For some reason, he believed she was being truthful and would not hurt Wan Jia. Since he did not care about the reasons for her past actions, he did not ask.
"I am under the impression that you are just like me." he said.
"How?"
"Trying to bring General Yun to justice. I know he did many things to you and even..." he looked at her neck that was covered with a scarf. "...tried to kill you."
"If I had any evidence, I would surely have done that years ago. He's just too secretive." she said.
Lu Aotian smirked like he had a plan. "No one knows what his first identity is. Probably not even his family, but you definitely do." He was confident that she did. If he could know that sneaky man's first identity, he would investigate even his ancestors.

Xia Rou was once again stunned. Could this young man see through people? It was very unfortunate, however, that she could not disclose that. "I swore on my father's life."
Lu Aotian did not push it. Before she left, he said something comforting. "She misses you a lot. She may throw a tantrum a little when she finds out but she will definitely not hate you."
Xia Rou was momentarily shocked and asked him. "You...you're on my side?"
