When her assistant left, Dai Youran contemplated for a very long while. If she or her assistant were to tell Wan Jia about this, she would never believe her. Also, if she were to ask someone else to do it, Wan Jia might investigate and find out that the information was from her, so she wouldn't believe it either.

Meanwhile, Lu Aotian took Wan Jia to Cuisine Treasures. The main attraction was that they served excellent dessert. His little love would surely love it especially since she was still in a bad mood.

At the same time, a certain younger brother was sucking up to his 'future wife' and trying to make her mood better.

She did not know that to an outsider's perspective, she looked exactly like a little girlfriend throwing a tantrum and being cajoled by her boyfriend.

After thinking for a while, Lu Shaoting had an idea. "I'll take you to a place with very nice food and excellent dessert. Since you're in a bad mood, sweet food will cheer you up."

Without waiting for her opinion, he stuffed her into his car and drove off.

He arrived at Cuisine Treasures and took Su Ling to their usual VIP private room.

He was shocked to see Lu Aotian and Wan Jia. He coughed lightly, "Bro, this is a complete accident. I didn't know you would be here. We'll take another room. But that's strange...no one told me you were here."

Lu Aotian glanced at him. "Didn't you say you wnated to join us? I asked them to let you in, in case you came."

As they discussed, Wan Jia was discreetly glaring at Su Ling. The latter instantly felt uncomfortable and turned to Lu Shaoting. "We should give Boss and President Lu some privacy."

Wan Jia chuckled. "No need. Come and sit. I coincidentally have some things to ask you."

They sat down under Wan Jia's murderous eyes.

Su Ling spoke up after a while. "Boss, you have to believe me. I..."

Lu Shaoting cut her off. "Ling, you don't have to suck up to her. I trust you and if that's not enough, I'll convince her on your behalf."

"How can you do that? Boss will never trust me in this lifetime." she looked pitiful.

Wan Jia interrupted them. "I'm right here, you know."

Lu Shaoting continued talking to Su Ling. "She doesn't trust you, but there's someone she trusts with all her life."

He turned to Lu Aotian. "Bro, you always know when people are lying, right?"

"Can you not drag my fiancé into this? Please and thank you." Wan Jia said as she clung onto Lu Aotian's arm.

Lu Shaoting was adamant. "Sister-in-law, you should let people have a chance to prove their innocence. I remember not too long ago someone misunderstood you and aren't you at loggerheads now?"

He was talking about when she told Yun Xuan about her brother and the latter said hurtful things to her.

Wan Jia merely wanted a nice meal and so did everyone else. How did it turn into a courtroom?

Lu Aotian was about to speak up when Wan Jia's phone rang. "Why would Dai Youran call me?"

She thoughtfully stepped out to answer the call and came back looking curious.

"What's wrong?" the three people all wanted to know.

Wan Jia smiled before she spoke. "Since you all are part of this, I'll tell you. Our dearest Designer Dai claims that her assistant saw someone recieving a cheque and being told that their work was done." Dai Youran had relayed the message exactly the way her assistant had said.

"The person who recieved the cheque...is Lili?" Su Ling blurted out before she could stop herself.

"How did you know?" asked Wan Jia.

Su Ling trembled. "If I say...you might not believe me. After all you..."

"Speak."

Su Ling gathered her thoughts. "Some days ago, I felt Lili was acting weird. There was once when she was arranging your documents, I noticed her phone camera was on." She let in a deep breath and continued timidly, knowing that probably no one believed her. "I did not say anything because I knew no one would believe me. I might even have been accused of twisting the truth." she finished her statement and looked at Wan Jia as if waiting for her verdict.

All this while, Lu Aotian had been studying her eyes. He spoke before Wan Jia did. "She's not lying."

"What?"

"Mmh. I would know if she was lying."

Speechlessly, the brothers echanged looks. They had now caught the spy and knew the mastermind. They were closer to their ultimate goal.

Lu Shaoting said, "Have the two of you ordered yet? our wives need to better their mood."

Wives?

Su Ling was shocked.

Wan Jia was speechless.
